swanning-offParticipant
So as to the crucial “when did the switch happen?” moment, this set of gifs is most illuminating. I totally missed this when watching the episode.
(pilfered from storybrookemirror.tumblr.com)
And can i just say, once again, what a horrible prick Pan/Malcom is? HE TRIED TO KILL HIS GRANDSON. Twice. (heart and shadow ripping) After locking his own son in Pandora’s Box, bragging about how portable his family was now.
[adrotate group="5"]swanning-offParticipantI’m an Anti-Shipper.
I just don’t care who ends up with whom. And there are some fandoms, and OUAT is a BIG offender of this, who take it all far, far, FAR too seriously.
People need to sit the **** DOWN and reflect on some key things:
- it is a TV show. Nothing more.
- ranting at the creators and actors makes you look like a moron.
- see #1 again.
swanning-offParticipantYes it was all easy but it also points at a larger issue for the series: fate.
Rumple’s machinations have been to circumvent his fate (and end up causing it by doing so e.g. maiming himself led to his boy growing up without a father).
Regina’s machinations have been to unknowingly assist Rumple.
But there are parts of the story that are WAY beyond the control of Rumple. Or Blue. Or Regina. Or anyway. There was no magic involved in Emma and Neal getting together and having Henry. That was fate.
So for it to be fate that baby Henry also ended up in Boston, so close to Storybrooke could also just be fate.
swanning-offParticipantthat’s so cute!
swanning-offParticipantForgot about this line. Hilarious!
Regina: “I need a child, Gold. And I need your help.”
Mr. Gold: “Well, I’m flattered but uninterested.”swanning-offParticipantI’m glad they’re not stringing out the Pan/Henry switcharoo story because that would be boring.
What’s the “old grudges” line? Do they need Regina to use a preservation spell on Charming until Rumple can do his counter spell for the poison dart/magic water and she refuses? Why would she, after all the help the Charming family gave her in getting Henry safely home (sort of!)?
Unless they have the inevitable “where is Henry’s home?” awkward conversation/epic fight within minutes of getting off the Jolly Roger?!
(And, y’know, a logical solution to that problem is pretty simple: Snowing have a tiny loft apartment. Regina has a massive mansion. Emma, Nealfire and Henry move in with Regina, Snowing get to have some personal/babymaking space, Henry gets all of his parents under one roof. SIMPLE. Of course it won’t happen!)
swanning-offParticipantSeems legit. Guess we all forgot that they are still in Neverland at that point and thus still subject to Pan’s rules about belief.
swanning-offParticipantIt’d be a great flip to the “who are you to decide what is fairylike?” moment in the first Tink episode. If other people’s belief (and her own belief) can reverse Blue’s decree of her not being enough of a fairy, then it will put some serious dents in Sneaky Fairy’s credibility as the leader of the fairies and decree-er of What Is Right….
… and then MAYBE WE CAN GET SOME PROPER SNEAKY FAIRY PLOT DEVELOPMENT!
swanning-offParticipantYeah. I so had a sniffle when Nealfire said that (“you’re not like him because you came back for me”) All the feels!!
swanning-offParticipantI didn’t like the twist just because it made no sense when the switch happened. It can’t have been when Pan had Henry’s heart because Henry’s reactions upon reviving were too Henry-esque to be fake.
So must have been when the shadow ripping/Pandora Boxing happened. But how?!
Plot wise, it’s a great twist, I admit that. I just felt a bit “oh gee – really?!!! Again?! Can’t we have just a minute of peace?”
