Looks more like he’s picking dirt from off the path and the expression is one that says “I don’t wanna get caught” Makes me think he’s being a Sneaky Henry to coin a phrase.
Yeah… not sure why but he looked more like he was trying to be Sneaky than being set another test. is he picking up the pieces of the broken mirrorphone?
[adrotate group="5"]swanning-offParticipantThat was funny enough but my favourite piece of this jigsaw was Snow’s reaction which you can see the start of in this gif ^^ “David, now is not the time”
But loved, loved, LOVED this:

swanning-offParticipantthink the key is that Regina said “legs – under your control this time” so I don’t think there is a price with the bracelet, in that someone else has to become a fish and Ariel will be able to take the bracelet on and off. The price to the magic is doing Regina & Rumple’s bidding.

Me too. My inner child got so excited at the point that is my new signature for the forum! Dingelhoppered!!
OK favourite moments:
- the real Ursula is totes not OK with Regina impersonating her. Hmmm…..
- all of the Disney dialogue mixed in. “My dear sweet child…” I totally then ignored whatever RegiSula was saying and sang along “that’s what I do – it’s what I live for!” Also mad props for “he could be part of your world” and “oh yes… your voice”
- the dingelhopper test at the ball. “This is?” “…. a small trident!” No. It’s a dingelhopper. Clearly.
- Finally confirming that NL!Belle is really Pan’s shadow, and not a projection of Rumple’s subconscious
- Regina cracking it at the latest diversion and stalking off. Also Regina teaching Emma magic and almost revelling in her role as The Evil Queen again… she knows what she is, and is coming to terms with it.
- “eggs in a basket” – yum! Maybe it’s just because I’m watching this over a late breakfast, but excellent timing by Pan to make me peckish for eggs.
- confirmation that mermaids can travel between worlds. Is this their ticket home?
- Hook doing the right thing – both times. First, telling Snowing straight off that Neal is alive. Second, going first in the cave of secrets despite clearly not being all that keen to admit he was in love with Emma in front of her parents.
- Emma’s slightly freaked out chat to her Mum about snogging Hook. And Snow’s reaction to it. Hilarious!
- Neal’s rescue and the whole secret sharing business. Moves the narrative ahead in leaps and bounds in a really good scene
Not so keen on… not much really. Loved it all. Eric was a bit insipid but you can’t have everything…
swanning-offParticipantHook’s secret was more than just snogging Emma (loved Snowing’s reaction too – “You did WHAT?!” “David – now is *not* the time.”) He loves her, or thinks he loves her, which means he has moved on from his Twoo Wuv Milah.
Important for the OUAT mythology in many ways: first we have Tinkerbell’s efforts at finding Regina a 2nd stab at Twoo Wuv, now we have Hook discovering it’s possible to do that in a more organic/less pixie dust fashion. Also sets up the Swanfire/CaptainSwan shipping war on the show, which I agree will be for later in the season. Both Hook and Neal have already got out their duelling gloves and slapped them on the table though: Hook admitted he loved her, Neal admitted he’d never stop fighting for her. Emma’s in the middle going “lemme get back to you on that….”
While Snow’s new found desire to get knocked up could be to cover for a real life pregnancy, I think that’s an easy way to look at it. Snow has really struggled with the fact that she never got to raise Emma – think back to Emma and Snow in the destroyed nursery in Snowing’s castle back in season 2. She really regrets that Emma grew up so isolated and alone, and that she missed out on all of those maternal milestones. So to me it’s a pretty logical step that she’d want to have another baby and that it would feel like a Big Bad Secret because last season she and David couldn’t even agree which land they wanted to live in, and she’s struggling to bond with her now adult daughter anyway.
David’s secret was, in many ways, a d’uh moment – the audience knew it and it’s an easy way to narratively move forward to the next challenge of getting David off NL without dying.
Emma’s was the most interesting: I love you, but I wish you were (still) dead because it’s too hard to deal with all of this. Complex and interesting emotions.
swanning-offParticipantThe excessive had waving looks bad!
swanning-offParticipant1. Enchanted Forest world. We’ve seen parallels to Real World history before, in the medieval design etc. Seems legit, albeit conveniently legit, that EF’s naval looks and acts much like RW 19th century navies. (Seriously, I kept expecting Horatio Hornblower to turn up….)
2. The sail is made from Pegasus feather. Pegasus = a flying horse, a magical creature
3. Didn’t need a portal, they sailed to Neverland. We’ve seen Baelfire (as teen and an adult) fly to Neverland following the route 2nd star to the right, then straight on til morning…. Captain Liam Jones gave his brother Killian Jones those same coordinates to navigate to once the boat “took off”
Simple!

That’s true. This whole time they’ve been stopping Regina from using any magic because it would alert Pan. But now she can take a heart which is a magical act that enchants the heart (Rumple’s words, not mine. The Doctor) and then proceeded to use the heart to send a message with a MAGIC mirror. Either someone was lying (doubtful) or the writers decided to ignore this.
I think they’ve realised that hiding from Pan is a bit of a waste of time. He’s shown repeatedly that he can just rock up to wherever they are regardless of what they do to cover their tracks. It’s *his* island as he keeps reminding them.
Favourite moments:
- Leftenant Jones becoming Captain Jones of the Jolly Roger
- CaptainSwan kiss – you saucy minx Hook. “I wasn’t doing it for you… mate.”
- Daddy Charming going all protective was pretty cute. “you’re coming with me…. pirate” – he made sure that word was emphasised around his daughter!
- flying ships FTW
- Compact mirror phone reunion
Least favourite
- bit sick of it always being dark, not least because it makes it nigh impossible to watch anything while sitting outside in sunshine!
- Daddy Charming is so not subtle about his death march – it really didn’t raise any questions?!
swanning-offParticipantwell, we now know that David is healed (subject to caveats about not being able to leave Neverland…. unless he does a Jack Sparrow and resorts to carting around a bottle of dirt!)
swanning-offParticipantI’ll bet he has a spy network that brings him news of the worlds.
*has vision of Pan as Varys*
*decides watching too much Once and reading too much Song of Ice & Fire/Game of Thrones*
