Mind. It’s blown 😮
Amazeballs episode. No clue where to start with favourite moments. Need to do some processing, which I might do in the unanswered questions thread!
[adrotate group="5"]swanning-offParticipantI don’t mind them bringing in the characters from the Hunchback of Notre Dame but on one conditions please writers: do it properly. Not the sanitised Disney version, the REAL story of Notre Dame de Paris.
I love that story, Victor Hugo is (once you learn to cope with his tangential waffling) a brilliant writer. It always annoyed me that the Disney-fied version of the story has Esmerelda falling in love with Quasimodo and everyone living happily ever after. Pfft! In the books, she loves Phoebus, who only lusts for her; Frollo lusts for her and ends up having her killed so he can purge himself of his sin of lust; Quasimodo loves Esmerelda but she rejects him for the pretty Phoebus. And in the end, after the mob string up Esmerelda and hang her, (and Quasimodo has pushed Frollo off the parapets of Notre Dame in rage after he sees Frollo gloating as the mob takes Esmerelda) Quasimodo goes and lies down next to her corpse, in the mass pauper’s grave to die next to her.
It’s wholly tragic and no one has a redeeming feature. Unlike Les Miserables, there’s no happy endings for anyone – even Phoebus, who does at least walk away from this encounter, just goes on to a loveless marriage and life of sloth.
swanning-offParticipantI don’t see the inconsistency at all with the timelines. I quote from Wendy “time passes differently then”.
It’s the standard fairytale/cross over realm type cliche – Narnia, Neverland etc. Time moves at different speeds in different lands. So there is no inconsistency with something like this (fingers crossed for formatting!):
year X: Rumple and Bae at the portal.
About 5 years after X (??) Milah and Killian Jones return to port, Milah killed by Rumple, Jones becomes Hook & goes to Neverland
Undefined period of time passes, Hook in Neverland, not getting any older; Rumple in the Enchanted Forest, figuring out his curse
Year X: Bae pops out in London. “Years” have passed, but not for him
6 months after X: Bae meets Wendy
6 months 2 weeks: Bae adopted by Darlings
indeterminate period of time: Wendy goes with Shadow, returns
Next night: Bae defends Michael from Shadow, goes in his place, freaks out ShadowPan with fire and falls into ocean, where he is…..… rescued by Hook.
It does work, it just requires you to suspend disbelief. And frankly, we’re dealing with a show in which Snow White and Prince Charming are running around doing battle against the Evil Queen and Rumplestiltskin, where giants can become normal sized, magic beans turn into portals and the seven dwarves are your go-to people for hard yakka….. exactly when did you stop suspending disbelief in order to nit pick the timeline????
EDIT: formatting didn’t work 🙁 Imagine the blue text is aligned to the right of screen, purple text to left.

Plot Device Blue Fairy is Plot Device-y.
While I am still open to Sneak Fairy is Sneaky, with each episode that the BF appears in I become more and more convinced that there is no working logic to her, it just depends on what the writers need her to do or not to do.
Yeah, I’ve reached that conclusion too. There’s just no consistency to support Sneaky Fairy is Sneaky theories anymore. Her powerful fairy magic is way too inconsistent – can cover a bean field, can resurrect the almost dead Regina, can’t make a dent in Gold’s shop spell. Plot Device Fairy is a Plot Device 🙁 Missed opportunity for the writers but meh, it’s a small quibble given how awesome the rest of the show is.
Least favourite moments: Owen/Greg going all madman scientist torturer. I have no sympathy for him, dead father or not. You can demand answers without joining a cult-like organisation that aims to torture and kill magical beings.
Favourite moments:
Tied – Swanfire ripped apart after the epic ILYs 🙁 then backed up by Papa Charming being all fatherly and comforting. Brilliant!swanning-offParticipantwaaaaa!!! 🙁
That made me cry. So beautiful.

These two are adorable! 😀

Now with the curse broken and the option of returning home, I don’t see why they’d want to stay in our world. Also, it’s too hard to have 3 simultaneous plot-lines going. In the first part of S2, it was really dissatisfying to a lot of fans to keep track of SB present, EF flashbacks, and post- apocalyptic EF all at once.
Personally I do not see why they would want to leave Storybrooke… not everyone is for adventure … and I sure would not want to live in a pioneer / feudal society. I like modern medicine / machinery / and life style… and I am totally anti war.

.Remember what Grumpy said after Snow and Emma got back from EF – as much as they appreciate ready meals, penicillin etc, they want to go home.
As sad as I would be to leave Storybrooke behind forever, I think it has served it’s purpose. As a plot device, maybe it is time to move on?
swanning-offParticipantCan someone post a you tube link for that et thing? It’s not working for me 🙁
swanning-offParticipantI wonder what a magical bean stew would do to your innards? Magical farts? Blowing a wormhole for travel to other lands…..
OK. Stop now.

I can’t wait to see what happens to young Bae. I think his ties to Hook will be pretty strong. Love the idea of PP as darker than usual, just to shake things up a bit. *Emma reminds Neal of Wendy* Oh yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. That can only be a good thing.
Particularly given the picture of Hook and Bae on the Jolly Roger, with Bae holding what seems to be Hook’s portrait of Milah…. maybe Hook fills in a fatherly role? Particularly if Peter Pan isn’t the benevolent boy who never grew up of the books.
HOW MUCH LONGER?????
