I believe that Adam pretty much answered the question about Belle in the Adam answers q’s topic on page #41.
I had completely forgotton the whistle.
I believe I heard somewhere, that some think that Rumple is the wizard that Granny went to. I don’t think I buy that though. I think if it was she’d call him the Dark One. Possibly Merlin?
And regarding the hat, I don’t know. No one would think of the hat except Jefferson, but now that he has Grace, and not in Wonderland, I don’t think he cares.

So this may or may not be season 3 related, but I’ll go ahead and voice my theory on Grace’s mother even though I said it once in the chat. I believe her mother is Jack. Here’s my reasoning, although its not very thorough…. Jack had the food from Wonderland to give to Anton, and she said she was there to slay the Jabborwok. I take the food as evidence to that being true. The only way she could have gone to Wonderland is Jefferson, a bean, or a magic mirror. Since Jack hadn’t slain any giants as of yet, in my view that rules out bean, and since its likely she didn’t know rumple or anyone with a magic mirror that rules out mirror. So Jefferson is all that’s left. In the scenario in my head somehow she met Jefferson and convinced him to take her to Wonderland, she slayed the Jabborwok, then they came back, she had Grace then she left. I think that then she had her fling with James, and Jefferson fount out, which is why Jefferson was cold towards David/Charming because he, like Anton, mistook David for James.
So that’s my theory. Its filled with a lot of “what ifs” but that’s it. I asked Adam H on twitter if we’re gonna find out who Grace’s mother is, and my thought that it could be Jack. So we shall see if he responds, doubtful, but we shall see.
