I agree with RG and Slurpeez. My issue is that CS has been presented to us as a potential romantic relationship from pretty much the beginning. For them to get to a real friendship state, like Alice and Will, they have to show us Emma putting Hook in his place and him either accepting that they will never be lovers, or him also coming to the conclusion on his own that they just aren’t meant to be in that way. But right now it feels like we’re even further from that outcome than we are for full on CS TL couple BS. Neal and Emma could have been BFFs, even if they never ended up being lovers again. We could see that friendship between them that could have been nurtured if the show wanted to go there, but they did. CS as friends could have been a dynamic team, but nope. Let’s mess with that as well. *sigh*

Maybe this is how Snow knows immediately what she’s going to name her daughter back in the pilot? That the events of 321/322 actually fit into the continuity as we know it (even while I type this I’m snickering and thinking “fat chance”). Without Hook and Emma’s influence events would never have happened the way we think they’re supposed to? I may also just be hungry and sleep deprived and coming up with crazy words that make no sense…

I’m tired and hungry and I don’t feel like figuring out if some or all of this should be spoilered out, so I’m just spoilering the whole thing, because I don’t care. Yes, I’m still in this mood.
For those who criticize Emma for being too harsh in her wording to Hook, I think that was finally the moment where she was exasperated to tell THE TRUTH. Up until this point Emma has been passive in almost all her dealings with Hook. Like other people have mentioned she has a certain lack of emotion when dealing with him, but she’s been incredibly lax at laying down the law regarding her feelings for him since Neverland. Obviously Hook didn’t take the hint then, and Emma knows this. At any point she could have told him to cut it off, or even at least just tone it down, but she hasn’t. It’s been cut eye and sarcastic and exasperated looks, but never once has she bothered to open her mouth and say “I’m not interested. Just stop it.” We read her body language as one thing, but obviously Hook is either blind to it, or sees her as a challenge to be won, rather than a human being that may not actually be interested. But you know, bully her until she likes her. That’s always the best way to go.
Anyway, at this point Emma must be sick of people trying to take away her agency. She never had a choice to stay with her parents because of the Dark Curse, Neal and August took away her choice to stay with Neal, right now she wants to go back to NY with Henry but circumstances are making that difficult (if not impossible, especially since Henry obviously doesn’t want to go back now), and top that off with Zelena making assumptions and choices for Emma about who she should/will be kissing. If I were Emma I’d also be done with it all by now. I think her words were accurate and a long time coming, and frankly I think she should have said them sooner. She told Hook in Neverland to back off, that all she wanted was Henry. Obviously he’s deaf. If that was how she still really felt (as it would seem because of her body language) she should have said something again ages ago. Actually, scratch that. She shouldn’t have to say anything. Hook is an adult. A woman shouldn’t have to constantly justify themselves because a man can’t take “No” the first time. Now I’m just ranty and annoyed by all this…
And the thing that kills me about all this is that now that it’s been laid out fairly clearly (to me anyway) that she doesn’t like him THAT WAY, something is going to happen where she will, and then I’m just going to sit in my sideways shack in Sad Town shooting bottles on fence posts out of anger, while also eating cookies and crying about how lovely that bison ranch could have been, and the warm bonfire I could have been sitting at with my s’mores and beans.
Physically I’m on the Conspiracy Train, but my heart has been in Sad Town since 315. I should go back to writing my sad Neal-fic out of sadness. I hate that this show makes me write things. Only sad things.
