Okay, so I hate to be that person who spreads rumours, but I just had a conversation about Once/Neal at work and I’m confused and I need clarification because the internet is failing me in my search for proof. I’m spoilering things out because I hate passing around unsubstantiated rumours.
So I’m at work talking about Once with a coworker and one of the managers came in with “Oh, did I just walk into a Once conversation?” It was very brief, but we had been doing Hook pros/cons and I brought up how Neal had to die to make CS happen and I got a response of “Oh, well I figured they killed him off because of the drunk driving thing.” I was floored. What drunk driving thing?
All I could get out of the manager and coworker who BOTH seemed familiar with the incident was that it happened sometime in the fall/December and likely in BC. Once being an ABC show and having ejected actors from their shows for similar things, my colleagues seemed all matter of fact that this is why they killed off Neal. I mean, the timing would sort of fit (for when they wrote the ep and when the cast got wind of the death), but I can’t find any articles online that support this story. Has anyone else heard about this and I just missed it completely, or are they making stuff up? These people are GA, so it baffles me that I wouldn’t have heard of this before now. If this is real, then it just puts more coal in the engine of the Conspiracy Train.
Also, my spoiler tags aren’t working properly. Both paragraphs 2 and 3 are supposed to be blacked out. I can’t seem to fix it.

That was super spoilery. Like crazy spoilery. If this is how 320 goes down then I have NO CLUE what to expect from the last 2 episodes.

I think it will be Graham, because Neal needs to be erased from the story other than describing him in rare moments as Henry ‘s father just to tie up loose ends. graham was a fan favorite so you know they must mourn him, though this season maybe it will be Cora because Snow owes Regina so much, according to the way it is written. on the other hand I think”Plot Device” would be touching because it’s the MVP of the story.
Though seriously Ruth would make more sense if a girl but doubt the writers even remember that.
YES. Yes to all of that! Graham would be a brilliant name (and would be meaningful and unexpected). “Plot Device” is also the most accurate. Very astute KFC!

I really really hope they don’t use Nealfire in any form/name for the baby. In the very far reaches of my mind I’m still kind of hoping for a resurrection (I am in the Indecision Limbo Lounge after all), but if they name Snowflake for him then we’re done. Bringing him back would lessen the impact of naming a new life in his memory, so I can’t see why they would unless the fat lady has sung.

I picture AO322 being a hot air balloon that emerges after Lunacy Junction (maybe the bison scatter and there it is off in the distance), but it only goes up and up into the clouds and we’ll get stuck there all summer wondering “What was the point of this? This is boring.”

I have little confidence the writers will listen to us, but that will be really funny to see.
I don’t expect them to EVER listen to us, but at least Shatner has enough clout to get their attention. It’ll never happen though.

Posted this on tumblr after it came up last night in discussion. Thought I’d repost for posterity (edited for language):
I think Shatner can be the hero Once fans need.
Shatner is awesome. It’s reassuring to see someone with a large following who can see that something is wrong with Once. I want Shatner to storm into the Once writers room for season 4 and get all demanding:
“CS is creepy and sends a terrible message about ‘love’. Fix it. Neal had to die, but Snow and Charming get away with casting the Dark Curse? That’s stupid and makes no sense. Fix it. Regina and Robin’s ‘romance’ went from 0 to 60 way too fast. Fix it. And stop messing with Rumbelle or I’ll fix your face. That’s an order Ensign. Kirk out.”
This would be beautiful, and if not Shatner, someone else needs to call the writing team out on their —-, or at least shove all the continuity errors in their face. *sigh* Two more weeks and we’ll know if this mess is fixable or not…
Please Captain! Please save the Once writers from themselves!

Just read the SpinoffOnline interview.
You know, I’d really like someone who’s been through the loss of a child or a father to text those two IDIOTS and ask them again how this season has been “a little more fun” and with an element of “joy.”

I read it and had a similar thought. Also, how has 3B been fun in any way, shape or form? Sure, we got Storybrooke back, and Zelena is all sorts of crazy, but how has it been light or fun? They ——- killed someone. Permanently. That is not fun, and if they try to convince me otherwise I’m going do some terrible things I can’t repeat here. Maybe in 312 it seemed like we might get some interesting things going on in the flashbacks, but everything has been dark and gloomy ever since 314, then fell into a pit of despair in 315. Again, how has this been fun? How has this been light? I just don’t understand what their world view is that THIS is what they see, that THIS is how they can best describe what they’ve given us. I’m sorry, but right now I feel like I’m all aboard the Conspiracy Train and heading straight to Sad Town. Population -Neal (and me).
