Yay for 1000 pages! I’m going to cling to this little happy (well, sort of happy) corner of the forums for dear life and hope we can keep adding pages by the day. Don’t let this die!
@heatherc1275 – Do you have a link to that article you were talking about? I don’t know what you’re twitter handle is, so I’m not sure how to find it. I’m really curious to read it.[adrotate group="5"]Co-Mayor of Sad Town | Twin of Co-Mayor of Sad Town | #HopeforRogueBison
textbookoneParticipantOne of my coworkers is more of a casual OUAT viewer (she’s been off and on all season, but has always followed the episode recaps online), but Neal was one of her least favourite characters. The glee on her face today while I was trying not to break down while talking about his death made this awful pit in my stomach. I wish everyone could have understood Neal like we did, like we still do. The reactions of people outside of this thread make me so sad.
Also, this is making me write fanfic. I have never written a fanfic before. This could be terrible.

textbookoneParticipant@mickstemp – Thank you for that. It really sums up how I feel about this whole disaster. Trying to explain to people (without tearing up) that I’m not just upset about Neal, but the whole show, has been hard to put into words. It’s just perfect!

textbookoneParticipantJust read Screwballninja’s latest essay about “Quiet Minds” and it made me ponder how true this part could be:
I’m horribly out of it with gossip, but the actor who plays Neal tweeted an official denial of rumors that he wanted off the show, and the writers had some interviews where they stated Neal’s death was totally story-based and not because anybody wanted off the show. You know what that means— the actor wanted off the show. Multiple official denials = confirmation. I wish you all the best, MRJ— go and find a show that makes you happy.
Do you think he really wanted to go? I keep wondering how on earth A&E could see this as a reasonable plot progression, unless they were shoehorned into giving MRJ an exit. That said, they have a consistently terrible track record when it comes to wasted potential and dropped story threads. I’ve been able to overlook those glaring inconsistencies, until Neal became a casualty of them. I wonder if we’ll ever know what really happened. 🙁

textbookoneParticipantI had a thought this morning, since the events in the EF happened a year ago, when Belle rejoined everyone else at Regina’s castle (because she was in the group scene in The Tower, which was 9 months before the new curse), what do you think she told everyone about Neal and Rumple? Would she have warned them Rumple was back and what the costs were? Do you think she spent her time looking for a way to reverse the body meld? When they eventually get their memories back from the missing year, do you think she’ll remember that there was another way to fix this with out the separation and death outcome? I would really like to see what happened in this regard during the missing year, but it’s another one of those situations where I don’t trust A&E to ever come back to it.

textbookoneParticipantI’m so happy I finished showing a friend of mine season 1 on Saturday before all of this happened (we’ve been periodically marathoning it since November, but work kept us from finishing sooner). After this I don’t know if I can go through season 2 with him, and I feel guilty for talking a different friend into coming back to the show after her anger over season 2, when this is what’s in store for her. I think, at least for awhile, I’m going to appreciate the series like I have for most of this season of Glee. I’ll read the recaps of the episodes and avoid actually watching the episodes unless someone tells me there’s something I absolutely must see.
I feel kind of like a smoker trying to kick a terrible habit. I keep wanting to come back, but I know it will all end in tears. I hope this thread never dies. I need you all so much right now.

textbookoneParticipantIt took until reading the 3×16 press release for me to actually start crying today, and now it’s been a thing on and off all day. Tomorrow I have to go into work and try to pretend that I’m not mourning a fictional character and a fantasy TV show. Hopefully I’ll actually get to sleep tonight. Thank you everyone for giving me something to read all day, where it felt okay to be upset, and where everyone else felt the same as me. I know we don’t know each other at all, but I appreciate everything and wish I could give you all a big hug. We will get through this. Somehow.

textbookoneParticipantI am going to try my hardest.
I listened to the initial reactions a little bit ago and am frankly a little shocked at how light they were treating this subject
I felt the same way. Not to belittle Daniel and Jeremy, but my heart was breaking and hearing all their laughter while talking about the episode felt like someone was twisting the knife a little. I would probably just skip this week’s full podcast entirely if I didn’t know you were part of it now.

textbookoneParticipantRG, if you have the strength to do the podcast this week, please represent us well! I know Daniel and Jeremy seem to like Neal well enough, but I notice that they tend to spend little time, or even skip over his moments. Since this episode was all about Neal, I feel much better knowing that someone who understands what he really meant to all of us is participating in the podcast and can explain to everyone WHY this episode was so awful, and not just because of the death. <3

textbookoneParticipantI only follow maybe 7-10 people on Tumblr, and I never go into the tags, so right now my dash is full of unhappiness and people who are leaving the show period. It’s just a sad, depressing place to be today. Wonderland was cancelled last week and is ending this week, Neal dies, and HIMYM ends tonight. This may be the most depressing week of television I’ve ever had. Just give me a damn exit interview so I can tear the bandage off for good and try to move on. ;_;
