Really i think the most funny thing, even more funny than mock the show at least for me and @Ranisha since we already talk baout this, will be the double @Josephine and @RG and their comments about the show, and if we mix @Text sarcastic comments, this will be a great season, lol.
I can give plenty of sarcasm. When would you like me to start mocking?

textbookoneParticipantI… I have no idea what this is… I just started writing this morning and all this … whatever came out. I don’t know if it’s done, or if it even sounds like a complete thought, but I’d rather post it here than let it sit in my drafts for eternity. Make of it what you will.
In Swanfire I see humour and heartbreak and history. I see the tattoos of life’s pain on their skin, two people trying to cover their scars and forget them, but sometimes you can’t. Sometimes you have to embrace the things that have scared you, that have stayed with you both beneath and above your skin. In your past and in your pain there is beauty. Every action done by and too you creating the tapestry of your life and the framework of who you are. You can try to walk away from those moments, from that history and those memories, but you can’t escape them.It doesn’t mean that they were destined to be together, but it means that they were always destined to be part of each others’ lives, as the friends who understand each other like no one else can and ever would. That person you could just look at and without words they would know what you meant and how you felt. That is what I wanted for Swanfire. I wanted them to show that history is important and that the pain that has shaped you can be overcome, not suppressed and ignored. That the things that we feel that define us don’t have power over us if we don’t let them. That we can forgive, and that forgiveness will make us stronger than the pain of the past.
For Emma to rise above that woman we first met at the start of our story, closed off, angry, hurt, unwilling and unable to love or trust, for her to realize that her pain can’t hold her back anymore. For her to forgive Neal for all the things he’s done to her, all the things that happened to her because of his single choice, for her to be freed from the anger that likely drove much of her life in the years since that fateful day. For Neal to be forgiven and find the peace of releasing the weight of regret for all his real and perceived transgressions. For not believing in himself, for not believing that he was worth it, for believing that all their current happiness was worth less that a vague future happiness that he didn’t deserved enough to share in. That he was just a stepping stone in a lager destiny, that he didn’t matter enough to be part of that.
But for them to also begin to forgive those around them. For Neal to forgive Rumple, to forgive Milah, to forgive Hook, to forgive August, to move on and accept that the things held in will only bring us down. For Emma to forgive her parents for all the feelings of abandonment she had felt over her lifetime, for all the images and theories in her mind growing up that started to form into a new version of reality. She couldn’t even begin to fathom the truth of her abandonment, but the stories she likely used to fill in the empty holes had become her own version of the truth, and even after the breaking of the curse, probably clung to some of those ideas because they were easier to accept than reality. For her to forgive her parents, for her to forgive Regina, and ultimately, for her to forgive herself.
I wanted for Swanfire to show that forgiveness can be true freedom. We cannot forget the things that we have done or have been done to us, but we can learn to release ourselves from the pain that comes with the guilt and the anger, and once we do we can be free.

textbookoneParticipantYou know, I have a little dream catcher hanging on my wall now at home and it doesn’t make me quite as sad anymore. Obviously I’m still sad that SF is gone and will always miss them, but now the dream catcher reminds me more of the awesome friends I’ve made because of this fandom and I wouldn’t trade that for anything. I say buy the shirt and enjoy it.
#optimisticwednesday #hopeforroguebison
I have a little dreamcatcher hanging above my bed. Buy the shirt, Phee. Then show us!
Dream catchers for all! #HopeForRogueBison
You know, I realize that I’ve never put up the dream catcher I bought for myself. It just got packed away and forgotten about. Oops!

textbookoneParticipantAs always RG, you’re far too nice. I’d be flinging rotten tomatoes left, right and center. I got into a Frozen debate with a couple of people in my class yesterday. They think it’s amazing, I’m terribly underwhelmed. I wasn’t even going to start into the Once discussion with them, since last week I heard a couple of them exclaiming about how good it was when “Shows you watch” came up on a questionnaire. Definitely not the kind of people who want me to speak my mind about this s–t show.
I’m not a miserable, sleep deprived person at all…

textbookoneParticipantSo I’m watching a documentary on villains in the DC universe and they started talking about the “Death of Superman” storyline. What they said about it I think should apply (but often does) to any story, and ESPECIALLY to Once:
I would even argue that the death of Superman story itself isn’t even a story. It’s just a fight scene. The story comes from how the world reacts afterwards. When you get to see the “Funeral For a Friend” you see what Superman meant to the world, which reacted what the real world did a lot when they thought we were really gonna leave Superman dead. They went crazy sad.
Any time you have that level of tragedy impacting a DC character we go through and show the repercussions of that act and how it affects the relationships between all the heroes and the impact it has on all their friends and family. And so, to me, it’s not done lightly.
We don’t have last episodes. We have the next episode. And we do have to deal with the repercussions.
People may try to argue with me that we saw the characters deal with the repercussions of Neal’s death, but I really don’t think we did. Yeah, we got a silent tableau of a funeral, and his name tossed out a handful of times (and one of those times got cut!), but I feel like we saw more of the emotional aftershocks of Neal’s death between 2×2 and 3×06, and he wasn’t even actually dead then. Then he really dies and it’s like the writers are over dealing with that again (“Oh, well we’ve done that at the beginning of the season. Do you think the audience will just mentally copy and paste all that so we don’t have to do it again? Yeah, let’s just pretend we did it all off screen. That’ll work.”), and then they moved on.
And it’s not just Neal’s death. Any time there’s something emotional or earth shattering on this show we’re lucky if it ever gets mentioned again in subsequent episodes. By then end of season 2 everyone had all but forgotten about Snow’s dark heart. Hook facilitates Regina’s torture at the hands of Greg and Tamara and the most we get is a blink-and-you-missed-it “I haven’t forgotten about that, by the way” in 3B, but no actual consequences from it.
There are countless instances on this show where it’s like each episode writer only acknowledges the canon they’ve created, because they can’t be bothered to follow the plot or continue the continuity of what came before them (unless they wrote it themselves, and even then they might chose to just ignore it). Not saying that comic books are fantastic about this either (because they’re the absolute worst for writing themselves into corners and then just hitting the reset button to get out of it), but at least the sentiment in the documentary is better than what I’ve ever gotten from an A&E interview.

textbookoneParticipantWhat if Hook was the one who put Elsa in the urn as part of the dirty work for Pan? Rumple ended up with the urn somehow but he did not put Elsa in it.
POM, can we please not have another Hook discussion in the thread, especially one without a direct Neal connection?
Hello my dears! My first day of school has started and uhm… I’m already realising that I will have close to zero time to spend with my favorite Ranchers. Especially the next 2/3 weeks. But knowing me, I won’t be able to resist coming around every now and then. Try not to forget about me!
Hugs and <3 for you all!
No Sad Twin! But I’ve missed our combined Sad Twin powers over the last few weeks! I will text you (real texts, not me Text’s) so that you don’t forget me! ;_;

textbookoneParticipantThank you everyone for the belated birthday wishes! I was dying from cat/dust/dirt allergy overload on my birthday and was internetless. Obviously the best birthday ever…
MY INTERNET JUST DIED. I AM IN A LIBRARY FREAKING OUT BECAUSE I WON’T HAVE INTERNET FOR 24 HOURS AND THIS IS LIKE DEATH!!!!!!! DEATH!!!!!! HOW DO YOU DO THE THING WITHOUT INTERNET?!
in short: I won’t be around tonight or much tomorrow, most likely. I’ll leave a note at the ranch too in case you guys don’t see this.
Any snarky comments should be recorded here for my amusement when my exile is over.
Oh no RG! I feel your pain! At least last week I knew I was giving up the internet for a week. Being forced into internet exile is worse! If it makes you feel better, the Ranch was pretty quiet last night. I don’t think there was anything to record for posterity. I just talked about school and Ikea furniture (not to be confused with Miss Ikea and and furniture she may have owned). I was in and out, so there might have been more interesting discussions before I got there.
Also: Text, hope you had a good first day at school. Wanna hear all about it.
School was easy. It was just a meet and greet and orientation. I think they wanted us to mingle more and meet the actors and production students, but we costumers kind of just huddled on one table and talked amongst ourselves. There’s only 9 of us in the program, so I’m hoping no one drops out (they went from 20ish to 14 last year apparently).
It’s also looking like I won’t be able to find a job while I’m in school, which sucks because I am poor, but the course load is just too heavy. So I’m probably going to try to focus on my jewelry and my etsy store. Might even try to make some hats for sale. Just whatever money I can scrounge to get by.
From a TVLine article…
Elsewhere, “past history” will test Emma and Hook’s own new relationship,
…do we dare to dream that Emma might actually learn the whole truth about who Milah was and/or Hook’s history with Nealfire?
*buying an elephant to sit on the dream before I dare*
Honestly, I feel like they’ve waited so long to drop that bomb that by the time they do it will mean nothing. I think for SFers it’s an important piece of information that’s been withheld from Emma that could (and should) change how she looks at Hook and views their relationship, but PodEmma probably won’t care. Or it will lead to an argument that will be that week’s soap opera drama and the next week it will be forgotten, never to be brought up again. If A&E thought this was important information (and not just a plot hole they walked themselves into, which is now all over their shoe and they’re hoping no one will notice (but guys…. it’s totally starting to smell….)), then it would have been addressed earlier, or even be one of their Lightening Round questions. But it’s been conveniently overlooked for the last 2 seasons, therefore they want us to be just like the GA and forget this is a thing.
There’s probably no point (from an SF perspective) of it being address, because we’ll just be disappointed in the outcome anyway. You know, like everything this show has ever done.

textbookoneParticipantOh tablet, why are you posting things randomly on me? Serves me right for leeching internet from a community centre (at a fall fair in farm country and have been internetless all week). Please ignore this phantom post. Will have more meaningful things to say next week. Maybe.

textbookoneParticipant@Slurpeez, once again, a really interesting and well thought out analysis!
Can I just say that I’m really enjoying the discussion in the thread today? Whenever we get accused of whitewashing Neal or being haters it’s days like this that make it painfully obvious that people only think that because they can’t be bothered to either asks us what we really think. Instead they make blanket generalizations based on how they *believe* we think, without actually reaching out to verify said beliefs. Though I admit that is a problem in the fandom across the board.
I wish I could contribute to the analysis today, but everyone is doing such a spectacular job that it’s probably unnecessary.
