Guys, I have a theory.  Back in the pilot, Rumple said the “child” would return and the final battle would begin.  And people are saying that the writers didn’t plan this season 6 ending storyline back then when they said “the final battle.”  That they probably meant the final battle to breaking the curse etc.  In the scene, it is assumed he is talking about Emma bc that’s who he was talking about throughout the conversation.  What if it isn’t her though?  We know that Rumple’s future seeing abilities are blurry and don’t show the whole picture.  So what if the “child” isn’t Emma.  What if it’s Gideon?  Didn’t A&E say that we would see another Savior this season or am I making that up?  I guess we saw Aladdin but with all this talk of Gideon trying to be a hero, and they really are shoving that down our throats, perhaps he is destined to become a Savior, especially if Emma takes a bow and exits or is killed or gets her Saviorhood stripped away.  Or at the very least, if we are also sticking with the prophecy, perhaps “the boy” (Gideon) will be Rumple’s undoing, for those of us who think that actually hasn’t happened yet.  And if it was Gideon and not Emma Rumple was talking about (unbeknownst to him), then the “final battle” comment makes more sense and less like they meant just breaking the first curse from season 1.  Even though that’s obviously what they meant but this would be a good cover up.  Idk, just something to chew on.

Do we think the sword is now done?  It has been featured very heavily throughout the season.  First in Emma’s dream.  Then in Rumple’s shop where she found it.  Then she fought Gideon with it.  Then with Beowulf.  Then using it to take away Blue’s power.  Now to create a portal for Black Fairy to get here.  When you think about it, this is like one of the most powerful objects ever on OUAT.  Now that Black Fairy is in town, was that the end game for Hrunting?  Will we see Emma fighting someone in a hooded cloak with the sword again? (I haven’t been reading filming spoilers since the show is like about toe end so if you know, please don’t tell me!).  Will the sword be used in some other way again?  Can they use the sword to defeat the Black Fairy?

Let’s put it this way.  I don’t think these writers are smart enough to write the theory onceaholic came up with, merging Blue and Black together.  So then, other than some magic object a la Olympian Crystal, is there another way you cna destroy the source of all the darkness (aka Black Fairy).  Maybe something we have seen on the show that they could bring back instead of a new random item?  Any thoughts bc I can’t think of any clues that have been given.  Will it have something to do with the author?  Can Henry save Emma this time?

I really like the idea that Blue and Black were originally one person who split into light and darkness and that they need to merge back together into one being. The light living within the dark and the dark thriving with the help of the light. It’s sooooooo meaty and symbolic for this show. That’s my dream ending!

Wow this is a great theory.  Talk about it being relevant to this season too.  Love it.

The non-dream ending is that Rumple or Emma kill Black Fairy with some sort of heretofore unmentioned object.

But, likely getting this.  Please don’t give me this.  No more random objects.  Lats episode was good.  I don’t want anymore stinkers now til the end.

A lot of can’t says.  Which since this season is winding down, possible the series, it is intriguing bc at this point, they would say no.  Which is pretty much what they said with the Maleficent question.  Anyone else intrigued that we are going to see Black and Blue’s relationship history and also why Black Fairy didn’t cast the dark curse herself.  I have EXTREMELY HIGH expectations for the episode The Black Fairy.

Also, any ideas as to what The Black Fairy wants to do exactly?  Is it just to kill Emma?  Is it to try and cast the original dark curse again?  She wanted to kill Emma to open a portal to get to Storybrooke.  But now that she’s here, what does she want?  This is like the first time since the Zelena arc that I had no idea what the villain wanted to do.

I think the biggest problem of all of it is first that Emma is a worse person now then she was when the show began and second that the show uses the heroes and villains dialogue. That should never have been a thing.

Completely agree.  They painted these characters into corners so now when they act like people who make mistakes, we hound them bc that’s not hero like.  If Emma wasn’t being called The Savior, or a hero, you wouldn’t take issue as much with some of the things she’s done.  However, bc she is called The Savior and a hero, when she does do things specific to being a Savior, I want to see some props for this woman.

By that logic then, Rumple shouldn’t be held accountable for any of his actions because he’s the dark one and the “darkness” is trying to control him.

Well I do definitely have an asterisk next to Rumple.  But what separates him from others is his incessant need to keep his power, or take back his power.  Hook was able to fight it finally and do the right thing in the end.  Emma fought it.  But Rumple doesn’t.  Do I hold him accountable?  Yes absolutely.  Does this feel like a double edged sword bc I don’t hold Hook and Emma accountable……yup starting to feel like it haha.

You guys are just hard on her.  You want her to save everybody but when she looks out for herself sometimes, you burn her at the stake.  She has been a great mom to Henry, a great friend to Regina, a great daughter to Snow and Charming, a good gf to Hook.  She has saved towns, broken curses.  Yes her focus has drifted more towards Hook lately but it doesn’t mean everything she does is wrong and that’s basically all I see on here.

Please remind me what she has done, because I don’t remember anything

Most recently, she helped Belle when she was giving birth.  She was right next to her, holding her hand by her bedside.  You guys have focused more on her negative behaviors and completely have dismissed any positive ones.  I’m not saying she’s a saint, but the stuff she has done has gotten way overlooked.  I also believe she helped reunite Maleficent and Lily.

And Emma has done stuff for Belle too.  It’s not like she snubs her constantly.  I just don’t think she’s good enough friends with her where she should feel obligated to tell her that her husband took back the DO power.  She is the “Savior,”I get it.  But Emma has to look out for Emma sometimes too.

So you’re ignoring what Dark Swan did to a powerless Rumple during 5A, including nearly killing Belle with the Merida bear, and saying Rumple is at fault for not jumping to help Emma just because she demands it? You’re saying Rumple should risk his life for a man he hates just because Emma demands it?

So I treat Dark Swan the same way I treat Dark Hook.  I don’t hold the actions against them bc the darkness was trying to control them.  So in this case, that was not the Emma we know who tried to kill Belle with the Merida Bear.  And Rumple wasn’t risking anything.  He just needed to drop some of his blood into the water to create a portal.  He just didn’t want to do it.

Emma does not give a crap about Belle at all unless she is useful because Emma wants something.

Exactly.  Precisely why it’s not Emma’s job to tell Belle that her husband to back the DO power.  Belle is not really a close friend to Emma.  It’s not like her father, or Hook, or Snow, or Henry, or Regina.  The fact that she doesn’t care about Belle is precisely why she doesn’t need to tell her anything.  She’s not “using” somebody she’s barely friends with.  She’s using her husband to get him to do a simple task with zero life risk.

So Rumple should just go running when Emma clicks her fingers? He shouldn’t feel annoyed about the things he’s been put through and the rest of the “heroes” turning a blind eye?

He should absolutely feel annoyed.  But him of all people should understand what darkness does to people.  And Emma came to him when she no longer had the darkness inside her.  He should have recognized that and helped her without Emma needing to blackmail him.

I don’t think so. I think they just want us to understand that Black is more powerful than Blue and leave it at that. Which is possibly thematically problematic if Black is really the incarnation of all the evil in the universe.

See I still think we may see it.  I just can’t remember a fight between characters that ended up occurring off screen on this show before.  I mean I’m sure there have been….  Especially when the result was huge (in this case, Black stealing Gideon).

Yeah but she was the same age when she met Baelfire 150+ years before the Dark Curse as she was before the Dark Curse happened when she was counseling Snow and then when the Dark Curse happened. So yeah, they don’t age.

Ahh yes, right.  The one thing we never truly got that I cared about was a backstory for Blue and how fairies work etc.  Perhaps Black Fairy’s centric will shed a little light on it.
