    Denies her…what?

I’m assuming she tries to form an alliance to take down The Savior and Gold wants no part of it.

How about coming into the shop and saying “Hey Gold and Belle why is your son trying to kill me?  Who is the black fairy, and how can we help the 100’s of abused kids?”  That would be a good conversation starter instead of hey I am going to kill your son and my mom is going to help.  I am not saying that Emma should wait for Gideon to kill her my problem is that right after she punched Gideon he told her what was going on and that he needed her help she then went to Gold and threatened his life.  This is NOT an appropriate way to handle the situation right after Gideon told her what was going on.

Again though, she had this conversation with Gold earlier in the episode when Gold told her about the Black Fairy and all the darkness the surrounds her and how she’s his mother etc.  She did this before agreeing to trust Gideon and take down the Black Fairy together.  Do you forget that this already happened?

This is Emma’s character.  Impulsive, emotional, driven, flawed…. This is who she has been for the whole series.

Exactly.  Saying that she is not acting like a hero is ridiculous to me.  This is how she has always been.  It’s certainly not out of character.

Let’s just go with what the show tells us and that’s Emma hero, Rumple villain even if they don’t act like that.

But honestly I really liked that scene bc it showed four parents standing and protecting their sons and/or themselves.  And all were valid in their behavior.  Emma doesn’t want to die and wants Hook back, Rumple is protecting his son, Belle is protecting his son, Snow is protecting her daughter.  Adulting 101.  It didn’t feel like they were trying to classify them as heroes and villains at all to me.  It felt like the show wanted us to understand where they all were coming from.

I understand that situation we’re in is complicated, but your son has tried to kill ne and sent Hook away. He has told me about this black fairy that he needs to stop and I came to you in order to understand who he is talking about. We need to work together to understand what Gideon wants so nobody would get hurt again. How can we do this?”

Seriously?  She already did this.  The first time around when she agreed to give Gideon another chance.  And Rumple explained to her why the Black Fairy is so horrible and how she’s his mother.  They already had this conversation haha.  It’s why she agreed to help him take down the Black Fairy.  But now, he deceived her and left her for dead.  So the conversation this time is going to be a little more heightened.  Don’t you think that makes sense?  If they didn’t have this conversation beforehand, I’d agree with you.  But at some point, enough is enough.  And deep down, Rumple knows his son is awful (even though he’s not but he has to be thinking it) bc he saw first hand what Gideon did and he saved Emma.  He didn’t have to save her.

None of the characters in that scene were painted in a bad light IMO. I could get on board with Belle seeing the best in her son, in Rumple wanting to protect him, in Emma wanting to protect herself and in Snow wanting to protect her daughter. They are four adults. They are more than just Heroes and Villains, and all the connotations that come with those labels.

THIS.  I felt exactly the same way.  I don’t blame anyone for the way they acted.  All were justified.

Well by this reasoning, Rumple is completely justified in killing Emma and Hook.  If I am not mistaken Emma tried to kill Belle on several different occasions, and imprisoned Rumple while she was the dark one, and then lets not forget sending Rumple away from Belle to the underworld by blackmailing him (while she was not the dark one). Hook has tried to kill Belle and Rumple on several different occasions. Rumple has every right to protect his son from Emma who has made it very obvious in the last couple of seasons that Rumple and Belle are not in her “family” and therefore do not deserve her protection.  Emma has become a “savior” when it effects only the ones she loves.

Well I never said that Rumple isn’t justified in what he is saying either.  He should have threatened her back.  My only issue is with people that said Emma was wrong for doing the threatening.  I think they both have to look out for each other and each other’s loved ones and Gideon is a wild card.  It makes perfect sense for them both to act the way they are acting.

Exactly!! But the show TELLS us that Emma and Snow are the heroes and Rumple and Gideon are the villains so we need to be on Emma and Snow’s side even though they act exactly like Tumple and Gideon.

Oh I’m sorry.  Did Emma try and kill Gideon twice?  Did Emma murder hundreds of people as the DO?  Did Emma trick everyone to get the DO one power back?  Did Emma treat Hook with such disrespect as Rumple does with Belle?  Has she ever threatened Hook like Rumple threatens Belle?  Has Emma and Snow sucked all of Blue Fairy’s power away?  The show is portraying them as villains bc they are doing horrible things.  You cannot compare them to the story and what’s happening right now.  To say they act exactly like Rumple and Gideon is asinine.

The point is that Belle is coming across to Emma as being completely in denial because of her emotional investment in the situation, and her track record at spotting lies. I would understand your point if Belle was always right and Emma hadn’t spent almost an entire season getting the Savior shakes because of something that Gideon was going to do to her. It just makes NO SENSE for Emma to accept what Belle is saying with no questions asked given everything that has happened this year. Pretty much all of which Gideon is the root cause of. Emma doesn’t watch the show, so she doesn’t know that Gideon is good deep down.

Exactly.  This is supposedly the person that kills her in her dream.  And he already has tried to kill her twice.  And now she should just listen to the DO and Belle bc they say he’s a good kid?  That’s insane.  It’s not like Gideon has said he doesn’t want to kill the Savior.  HE HAS SAID MULTIPLE TIMES TO RUMPLE THAT HE STILL NEEDS TO DO IT DESPITE RUMPLE TELLING HIM NOT TO.  So Rumple knows that’s what he wants to do.  And he’s just ok with that bc Gideon is a good kid?  But Emma, who’s life is on the line and who doesn’t have the person she loves with her, is just supposed to agree to not do anything about this?  I can’t help but feel that if we didn’t know that Gideon was actually a good person (like Emma on the show), then you would be totally fine with how Emma reacted.  It’s not her fault she doesn’t know!

It is as if Emma stopped being a mother and turned into a lovesick teenager, oh wait…

Sweet lord.  If she acted like this after all Gideon did was send Hook away then ok.  Yes absolutely she is.  But it’s like you are completely dismissing the attempted murder and the fact that Emma already had listened to them and gave him a second chance. Oh, and she did threaten Gideon when she punched him.  So now, she’s threatening Belle and Rumple bc she doesn’t know what else to do.

Let’s say your neighbors kid keeps sneaking into your house when you aren’t home and steals things.  The kid says he’s sorry, the parents say he’s actually a good kid, it’s just his biological mother/group home (insert whatever) really screwed him up.  So then you give the kid another chance and you don’t take any action.  Then the kid says he’s sorry and won’t ever do it again.  Then, he breaks into your house again and steals something again.  What would you do?  Would you not go to the parents and be pissed?  If you were Emma, how would you have handled this differently?  To me, they were the ones who said to give him another chance and that he was a good boy.  Well, when he acts up again, she goes to his parents.  It makes total sense that she would not only be pissed, but that she would go straight to his parents.  And like Matt pointed out, Belle would say the devil is actually a good man.  she is blinded by the love of her son.  And Rumple is the Do who just sucked Blue Fairy’s power with Gideon like a day ago.  How can she trust these people?  I’d be so pissed too if I were her.

Would a mcguffin in Neverland be any different from a mcguffin elsewhere? Did we really need the scenes of blackbeard and him?

I agree that Hook being gone could be considered filler.  But since we’re here, you need to see the story play out.  If Hook meets Tiger Lilly and she helps him get home for example, than meeting Blackbeard was relevant to show us bc that’s how he got the bean that took him to Neverland.  Without Blackbeard, how does he get to Neverland?  I also happened to feel like the blackbeard scenes gave the depressing child abuse episode some good comic relief.  But that’s beside the point.  Do I want a macguffin in Neverland to bring him home.  No of course not.  Did I want Hook to leave in the first place.  No.  But did Blackbeard lead Hook to Neverland where he finds a way home?  Yup.  So then Blackbeard is relevant to the plot.  You can hate the plot.  But it’s most certainly relevant.  Take the Blackbeard scenes out and just poof Hook in Neverland.  Is that better?  Nope.

Because in the pilot it was about standing up to bullies and now it’s about being one?

SHE ALMOST DIED AND GIDEON TRIED TO KILL HER TWICE AND HE TOOK HOOK AWAY FROM HER.  AND NOW SHE WANTS TO PROTECT HERSELF AND HER FAMILY IN CASE HE TRIES TO DO IT AGAIN.  How on earth is that her being a bully?  After nearly dying twice, don’t you think she is entitled to handle things her way this time after Gideon failed to be nice?  She gave him a chance per Rumple and Belle’s wishes.  What is she supposed to do?  Just be cool with it and hope he doesn’t try and kill her again.  Oh and just keep living without Hook? I really do not understand your point at all.

Because Emma is supposed to be a “hero” and rather than showing sympathy towards RumBelle and the situation with Gideon, Emma is marching into the shop and threatening to kill their son all because she’s mad that Gideon sent away Hook. Emma’s anger seems to focus on that rather than Gideon’s attempted murder of her.

He tried to kill her twice too!  It’s not just about hook.  Like this is a guy whom she already gave a second chance to.  How can she just say, ok guys you’re right.  I believe you.  He’s a good boy.  HOW?  She can’t.

This!  Emma is upset that Gideon is messing with her life, and the hypocrisy is almost unforgiving.  She went in there and stated that Gideon is using Hook as a bargaining chip while she has done the exact same thing to Rumple.  She went into his shop and blackmailed him to take them to the underworld by using Belle. And guess what you could blame Emma for the entire Gideon mess if you want to she was the first domino in all of this.   You have this paired with the Charmings doing the exact same thing, Snow stating that she would love to help Emma because they need bonding time is horribly ridiculous.  These are supposed to be our “heroes” and they are being self centered, hypocritical jerks

So let me get this straight.  Gideon tries to kill Emma twice, deceives her after she gave him a second chance per Rumbelle’s wishes, and sends the man she loves away and she’s being self-centered for wanting something to be done to prevent this from happening anymore to her?  She isn’t upset because Gideon is messing with her life.  She’s upset bc he deceived her, left her for dead and TRIED TO KILL HER TWICE.  And separated her from Hook.  You’re making it seem like what Gideon has done is minor.  If someone tried to kill you twice and sent away the person you loved and deceived you after they said they were good, would you just do what Rumbelle is telling you?  Do what the Dark One is telling you, someone who would protect his son no matter what he was doing.  Of course not.  You would defend yourself and try and get rid of them.  And that’s what she is doing.  If I was her, I’d be so done with all the crap about him being a good person and that he’s just messed up bc of the Black Fairy.  That may be true, but HE TRIED TO KILL ME TWICE!  I’d have to do something about it at this point.  And trying to protect myself and my family doesn’t make me self-centered.
