ParticipantThey are filler because what Hook is doing in the Enchanted forest and Neverland does not matter. They were pointless scenes.
So him getting back home doesn’t matter? You’re not making any sense.

ParticipantYeah like The Watcher, I too thought Pan’s “shadow” and The Shadow of Neverland were two different things. And I definitely do not recall the shadow saying he merged with Malcolm. The shadow that almost killed Blue in storybrooke I thought was not the shadow from Neverland. I assumed the shadow would still be in Neverland now.
I also feel like I remember someone saying that a few Lost boys stayed behind bc they had nothing to come home to and they were there bc they wanted to be there. So they stayed. But I could be wrong. That’s just what I thought all these years since the end of season 3a, and this was before we saw the Lost boys in this episode. Something must have made me think that for all these years! haha

ParticipantIf Hook ends up getting home in some other random way not tied to Neverland, then yes this is utter filler and not needed. But I would assume something will happen in Neverland to bring him home, therefore these scenes were necessary. Maybe not the most exciting, yet, but they are necessary if he needed to go to Neverland to get home.

ParticipantThere are so many questions we won’t get answers to regarding Black Fairy. They are going to try and rattle off a bunch in her centric but we aren’t going to get them all unfortunately. I do however hope she IS that powerful.

ParticipantThis episode made me feel like Blue is just useless and dumb, and not actually shady or sneaky or Black Fairy herself or whatever. However, the fact they did not show that “fight” between Blue and Black makes me think they are saving that for a future episode. I mean, are they really not going to show us that? That seems like a big thing not to show us. And the only reason why they would wait to show us that until Black Fairy’s centric would be if something went down that we don’t know about. So that could be that Black had some dirt on Blue and Blue gave Gideon up. It could mean that Black is Blue. It could mean Blue is shady and actually has been friends with Black all this time and didn’t actually ban her to the dark realm. Or, the writers just don’t want to show us the scene for some reason. But it all seems odd.

ParticipantI think you are being a little hard on Emma. When she started giving Regina chances to redeem herself starting in season 2, I don’t really recall Regina tricking Emma much and going back on her word. In this case, she gave Gideon a second chance and he double crossed her and left her for dead. Again, I don’t think Regina ever really did that. And Regina did save them at the well in season 2 as well. That at least gave her some confidence to trust her. Plus Henry was practically begging her to give Regina a chance. I’m sorry but Rumple telling Emma to trust his son is very different than her own son telling her to trust his adoptive mother.
Plus, in this case, Gideon hasn’t done anything “good” to warrant her trust, and none of them are able to see that Black Fairy is manipulating him. So how is this an unfair reaction from Emma? This girl can’t do anything right with you guys now it seems. I think her actions are completely justified and I’m sure that if she had seen what we saw in the flashbacks, she would treat the situation a little bit differently. At the very least, lock Gideon up as opposed to trying to kill him or whatever. And sure, Rumple and Belle can sit there and say that Gideon grew up with the Black Fairy so he’s emotionally unstable, but they really don’t know the whole story of what it was like growing up under her wing. Rumple sure doesn’t know (other than the one story Gideon told him) bc she abandoned him as a child. So basically, they are all speculating. Sure, we know that she was awful and manipulated Gideon in horrific fashion, but Emma only knows what The Dark One is telling her, who would go to great lengths and perform dark magic to protect his son (anyone forget he took away Blue’s power), and she knows that Gideon has tried to kill her twice now and he tricked her. So someone please tell me how this is unfair behavior from Emma?

ParticipantOverall: 8.5/10
Ok, we are back people.
Liked:
– The Black Fairy/Gideon flashback. I thought the actor who plays Gideon did a great job in the episode. Jamie Murray reminds me a little of an over the top Cersei Lannister, which is a good thing. But I thought Gideon was excellent, especially in the scenes with his childhood friend and when Black Fairy crushes him.
– Black Fairy created the dark curse. YES!
– Makes so much more sense now that we know that Black Fairy was controlling Gideon. But we also know Gideon does have a soft spot for her. It makes his character so much more interesting.
– Rumple/Emma dynamic. I loved that Rumple saved Emma. And then they both used magic together to take the spider out. And then I loved Rumple threatening Emma if she tried to harm his son. All of this felt in character. Rumple isn’t going to just let family die. But he will if it involves his own son or wife.
– I thought the scenes with Hook and Blackbeard, while not needed, were kinda hilarious and served as somewhat of a comic relief for the overall dark tone of the episode. “I’m not AS drunk as your other opponents.” lols.
– Henry’s author powers going bazurk! So when the story ends, does the author die? To me, that actually would make some sense. This at least shows they are planning to bring the author story back full circle and give it a proper ending. Loved seeing Isacc again…always liked that actor on Lost too.
– Hamilton tickets…hilarious.
– Black Fairy saying “dearie” and calling Gideon a “coward.”
– Black Fairy is in storybrooke. But what does she want? Didn’t she only want to kill Emma so that she could escape the dark realm? Well now she has so what does she want to do now? Hmm…Perhaps she brought all that dark dust with her and perhaps is threatening to create an even worse dark curse with her running the show. That would bring the show back full circle don’t you think? But this time, Regina is saving the town instead of creating it.
– Seeing Neverland again. Did I hear hear some Indians????
Mixed:
– So why can the Black Fairy only cross realms for a second to steal children? Who even gave her that power? Blue?
– So Black Fairy steals children to put them to work in the mines to collect dark dust which helped form the dark curse, so this time, she thinks it can help her escape the dark realm?
-So the sword channels The Savior’s power when they die and that power can open up a portal. I mean, that’s fine but like we never knew about this before and we never knew that Sword could do that before.
Disliked:
– Didn’t get to see Black Fairy take out Blue Fairy to steal Gideon. Perhaps they are saving that for Black Fairy’s centric. And unfortunately, this episode seems to have all but denied the Blue is Black theory. So Black Fairy through Gideon has managed to almost kill Emma, send Hook away to another realm, manipulate her son Rumple to take away Blue Fairy’s power…oh and she obtained access to storybrooke. She’s a smart cookie.
– Emma didn’t die so I’m annoyed that the portal even opened a little bit for the Black Fairy to come through. How convenient!

ParticipantUnless the Black Fairy originally created the Dark Curse for her and Malcolm to run away and start a family together, ala Rumplestilskin. But the price that would have been paid to use the curse, would have been her son Rumple, which is why she never used it. However this still wouldn’t explain why she abandoned Rumple, unless there was outside interference… (cough) Blue Fairy (cough). And perhaps the separation from her son is what embittered her heart, and she resorted to stealing other children because she was denied the chance to raise her own.
Which brings me to another question. Do we think Black Fairy is misunderstood? Meaning did she become evil like you say here bc of something bad that happened to her. Will we feel bad for her once we know the whole story? Or do we think she’s going to be more like Cruella?
And I completely forgot about the chernabog. So then yeah the Black Fairy would have created it only to not cast it? What if Blue banished Black Fairy and then created the chernabog to guard the curse so no one could get it?

ParticipantIn keeping with this season’s theme, what if there are two Gideons?
Oh sweet Jesus. Well here’s my question: Where do we think the Black Fairy is right now? Is she in the dark realm still? If so, how does she get to storybrooke? Is Hook going to bring her back by accident? Where does Tiger Lilly fit into all of this? Is Black Fairy already in storybrooke disguised as someone else? Kind of like how we were speculating with Jafar and the Oracle which turned out to be hogwash.
Black Fairy seems like she could be stealing what was going to be Jafar’s thunder this season so maybe Black Fairy was posing as the Oracle early on. Maybe she’s posing as Gideon. Maybe she’s posing as Blue and she actually killed Blue back when she took Gideon (this is my theory). Maybe she’s actually going to take what was supposed to be Jafar’s story line and they are tieing it back into the Savior mythology eventually.

ParticipantI didn’t quite understand the “Savior’s Tears” part. Emma’s listening to Hook on the “shell phone” and Gideon, (as Aesop) says: “He can’t hear you. Not while I hold onto the tears of the Savior.” So Savior tears block “shell phone” reception. Random, but okay. Then Gideon says, “So long as I have this (holds up tears in bag) I can ensure there will be no portals between you and the man you love.” Portals as in communication via “shell phone,” or portals in general. If the latter, how does THAT work?
I took it to mean that once you have the Savior’s tears, no one can cross realms to get to them. But it’s super ambiguous.
