I actually did not like this episode very much.  I hated the AU, it felt sloppy and rushed.  Some good things but mostly, eh.

    Overall: 6/10

    Liked:

    – Season 1 callbacks in the AU.  EQ gliding into the room.  I liked that Regina had to pretend to be the EQ.

    – Black Fairy appears to be the next villain.

    – Aladdin and Jasmine will be back…Aladdin said so…which gives me hope Jafar will be back.

    – Regina sees Robin.  Heartbreaking.  How could you not stop and just have your heart hit the floor.

    Mixed:

    – So there’s a realm that’s so dark that it Rumple can’t get to it and it speeds up time as opposed to Neverland, which slowed down time?  Ok…. We better see this.

    – All the wishes were just so weird and clunky and disjointed.  Like that’s what Charming came up with?  She gets what she deserves?  And what happened to people getting three wishes?  If a different person rubs the lamp, do their wishes go away?

    – Gideon under the hood.  Needs soooooo much explanation.  Why he’s here?  Why he’s dark and so powerful?  Why he wants to kill Emma.  How he got here?  I’m fine with the revelation but it just doesn’t make sense right now.

    – I guess it makes sense that to snap Emma out of it she needed to be the Savior.  But like, what about everyone else?  So if real Emma existed in this world, does that mean the world is real?  If the real Snowing didn’t actually die, how was Emma the only real person who could snap out of it and remember.  Really shotty world building.

    – So Emma and Regina are still in this world.  Uhhh, ok but like where is this going?  I didn’t love the world to begin with.  Was kinda hoping they wouldn’t keep anybody there.

    Disliked:

    – The AU world was dumb.  So it was fake…but it was real?  And Emma was real but the others weren’t

    – Why wasn’t Robin Hood old?  He should be old right?

    – Blue was not black fairy the whole time…nope instead we got a battle off screen that left Blue reincarnated as a rag.

I think Thandie Newton, Anthony Hopkins and Jeffrey Wright all should be considered for an Emmy.  I’ve actually been particular impressed with Jeffrey Wright as Bernard.

Keegan has been on set quite a bit for this episode. I don’t want to get my hopes up, but could ‘Ill-Boding Patterns’ possibly be a Blue Fairy / Mother Superior centric FINALLY?

    One can only hope.

She put herself under a sleeping curse because Rumple made a deal  over 200 years ago about his second born child, which he thought at the time he would never have.  He then thought he took care of the problem when he killed the person.  I don’t know how that factors into any of this.

That was part of it but I thought it was also because she didn’t want him to wake her up until he truly could with true love’s kiss.  She obviously didn’t want Hades to take her baby but also was unhappy with Rumple.

And Belle cheating on Rumple with Will eye roll

I mean, fair I guess.  But she did banish Rumple.  In Rumple’s case, he’s trying to win Belle back.  It just seemed dirtier.

And cheating on her with the EQ.  Don’t forget that.  But no, let’s blame Belle.  Eye roll….

Nope, she wanted the wand because the door of the shop was locked for the last couple of days and she knew he was in there, so he must be up to no good.  “he’s closed the shop he has been in there for days, I know he is up to something” that is why she decided to work with Zelena and steal the wand.

She knew he was hanging out with the EQ and guess what, he WAS up to no good.  He was helping her.

He has never said that. Evil Queen said that, told Zelena that, who told Belle that.  Could that have been his plan, maybe but we are not sure.  Question here would be if it wasn’t his plan why didn’t he tell her so, but then again we got that answer last episode with the acceleration of the pregnancy, he does not think she would believe him.

Now this is getting ridiculous.  Maybe he never directly said it.  But he did heavily imply it and literally everyone else around her told her that’s what he was going to do.  The show wanted us to know that was his plan.

Why was she legitimately afraid of him in the first place, this was right after the wake up of the sleeping curse, in which he stated that he would try and be the best person he could be for her.   So she is going off the sayings of a Morpheus grown up child which we have already discussed how wrong that was. Right before the sleeping curse she stated “I do know who you truly are, that’s why I love you” and then in this scene we have Rumple honestly telling her that he is here to protect her and the baby from Hyde and her saying “the only person we need protecting from is you” that is both untrue at this time and verbally abusive.  What exactly has he done to her that needs protecting from?

I think you are forgetting why Belle even put herself under the sleeping curse to begin with.  We could honestly go back and forth until they first met to see causes and effects and reactions between these two.  I just happen to see it as her giving Rumple many many many many many opportunities to be the man he claims he wants to be but he always reverts back to the darkness.  Always.  Even if you say Belle is the abusive one, you cannot argue that if Rumple just was the man he knows Belle wants and says he wants to be and will be, none of this turmoil would be happening.

For example, Rumple slept with Belle and Belle only agreed to that when she thought he was done with darkness for for good.  She thought he was going to be the hero she wanted.  But then he went and took the darkness back from Emma and took all the power of the DO’s, and then lied to Belle about it.  How about in season 4 when he said the thing he cared about the most was her, but then the gauntlet he had from camelot that shows what you care about the most led her straight to the dagger (or maybe the hat, it’s a little fuzzy but it led her to Rumple’s power).  Or what about when he had a fake dagger and led Belle to believe it was the real one?  Now tell me, when has Belle ever LIED to Rumple like that when it comes to their relationship?  If Rumple just gave up the darkness and his lust for power, none of this stuff would have happened and they would be quite happy together.  So then how can you put the blame and the majority of the abuse on Belle?

Okay let’s see if we can get on the same page, give me a specific example of when Rumple was the aggressor and was the first one to be inconsistent.  Definitely was not the cuff incident, because he was just hanging out in his shop not bothering anyone when she freaked out and decided to work with Zelena to steal a wand to take her and their baby to a place he could not find them. That is her being the aggressor and inconsistant

How about when he said he was going to use the shears of destiny on Gideon to change his fate so Gideon wouldn’t hate him?  How about when Belle simply hid away from Rumple bc she was legitimately afraid of him so then Rumple forced her to stay on the ship which almost cost her and their son’s life?

And as far as the cuff incident….are you forgetting why she wanted to get the sorcerer’s wand?  It was so she could get far away from him bc he was threatening the child.  So again, she was reacting to his behavior.  She rarely ever does something that isn’t a direct reaction toward something he says or does.
