ParticipantOk so this was better than last week’s and I’m somewhat surprised at how much better it was than I thought it would be. Normally Hook’s episodes have been blah for me lately but I enjoyed this one for the most part. Still had many many flaws but better than last week.
Overall: 6.5/10
Liked:
– Henry and Hook getting screen time together. This was so needed.
– Hook putting Henry before him.
– Henry protecting Emma when he found out Hook kept the shears. Again, these two needed to bond for a bit and they devoted an entire episode to it, not just a scene, which I appreciated.
– The CGI actually looked good. The sub looked good.
– EQ is amazing per usual.
– Regina poofing in front of her family to protect them. They have come a long way and that family dynamic is an important one for the show to highlight.
– They actually went back to the Liam storyline. Props for that. Did not see that coming.
– Emma found out about the shears quite fast and I appreciate that. This did not linger like the whole Emma not telling her family about her vision did.
Mixed:
– EQ and Rumple kiss. Listen, I get she wants something from him and needs him to take Snow’s heart but these two never had this relationship before and it just doesn’t feel right on screen. At least Belle didn’t have to see it.
– How did Regina get the shears? Who does she know under the sea still? Ursula?
– Rumple wants to use the shears on Belle? Oh good God. Poor Belle.
– So Agrabah is gone? A lost city? Like what?
– Love the characters but I don’t like them right now on OUAT. I literally just do not care about Jasmine and Aladdin. It makes me feel like their story won’t be prevalent until the second half but they just couldn’t wait til then to bring them into the fold so right now they’re just useless until they are needed.
Disliked:
– How on Earth did The Nautilus get to storybrooke? Are we supposed to believe they came over from the Land of Untold Stories? If so, was the sub just chilling under water this whole time?
– How is Nemo alive? He was stabbed in the past. How was he found in the woods of storybrooke in the present needing surgery?
– Why can’t the EQ just take Snow’s heart herself? We already know she took the Count’s heart to manipulate him. Why is Snow’s any different? Maybe she can take the heart but can’t actually crush it or kill anybody? This could be a Man in Black from Lost situation which I’d like but there needs to be some clarity soon.
– The EQ, while amazing, has done literally nothing for 6 episodes. Hopefully this changes.
– So when was Hook in NL? This timeline makes zero sense to me. And how did Hook escape the sub?
The plot needs to start moving here. We have a hit a lull and this needs to be fixed. I’m enjoying the episodes but there are so many questions and I feel like the story is getting a little lost. It still does feel like season 1 but it’s getting a little messy.

ParticipantYes it makes me happy it’s likely not Hook. They could introduce someone else…could be Jafar, could be Rumple.

ParticipantOMG that was amazing. The final line Penguin says is hilariously…..”I make it a policy not to gossip about staff but,”…..hahaha. So great.
thedarkonedearie
ParticipantAs long as we get it this season I’m fine. It does however make me wonder if they will be introducing another villain type character in the back half of the season.
thedarkonedearie
ParticipantHaha yeah I’m sort of saying Jafar is everyone but I really think he has to be at least one of them. There’s just too many things going on that don’t make sense. The alleged dead Oracle that EQ probably didn’t actually kill with Agrabah vipers, the location spell taking Emma to the crypt with Aladdin and yet Aladdin supposedly got rid of his savior magic (so I think it led her to his corpse and Jafar is actually Aladdin in the crypt giving the shears to Emma exactly as he did with Aladdin to rid all Saviors for a reason TBD later), an oracle bird in flashbacks on Jafar’s shoulder and an oracle girl in SB with a staff, and now Morpheus under the hood after we met him for one episode? Idk something is not right and Jafar has to be one of these people if not all of them!

ParticipantThis is great news. They need to address this and address any repercussions of them sharing a heart. The EQ needs to start doing things. She needs to remember Daniel and why she hates Snow so much. And she needs to start wreaking havoc.
thedarkonedearie
ParticipantI still think Morpheus could be Jafar in disguise. And it was actually Jafar in Belle’s dream world. I refuse to believe it’s actually Morpheus under the hood.
thedarkonedearie
ParticipantAnd the show could connect this to Rumple and how he knows about Saviors.
We can only help. I’ll settle for a seminar in the woods that Jafar and Rumple attended.

ParticipantYup to everything above. Jim and Mulan actually have great chemistry. But I fear he does love Lee more because I agree, he knew if he said Lee, then Mad Hatter would shoot Mulan. One thing I didn’t love was the mad hatter telling riddles. A lot of what he did in the episode reminded me of what the Riddler does which is why I loved what was going on. Giving choices, multiple tv screens, riddles…but it makes me think we will never see Ed do these things. And there has to be something up with Isabella. Perhaps a ploy from Butch to get back at Ed. She just looks way too much like Ms. Kringle and I don’t think they would just introduce the Penguin Ed love story and crush it so quickly like that. Again, I think it’s Butch who found her.

ParticipantYes I would like to know why Jafar wants to rid the world of Saviors and how he even knows about Saviors to begin with.
