ParticipantI agree that Zeus could wave his hand and undo the Crystal. But why not do it in the moment? Like Hook, Robin made some heroic choices this week (protecting Regina, trying to save his baby) so why not undo the death right away if Zeus does have that sort of power?
Well a couple reasons.
1. I think we have not seen the last of Zeus. And when we see him again, when his story becomes more prevalent, that’s when Robin could come back into the picture.
2. Just like with Hook, they want us to believe Robin is truly gone before they bring him back in grand fashion. They still might not, but if they were going to, these are the reasons why I think they wouldn’t do it in the same episode.

ParticipantI think this arc could have benefited from cutting a few stories and putting in others. Things we did not need, in the long run: 1) Hercules/Meg storyline of 513 2) James and David 3) Ruby Slippers Cut those and give us flashbacks of Zeus/Hades’ story and maybe Zeus decision to bring back Hook wouldn’t feel so tacked on at the last second.
Completely agree 100%. It’s almost like they didn’t know what to do with Hades in the past. Or they are saving the Zeus stuff and the Gods for another time…

ParticipantBut yes I too think this was their best villain in awhile. It’s unfortunately they muddled him a bit with inconsistent motivations and inconsistent power, with zero flashback to help sort out the confusion.

ParticipantLike, Paris? New York City? Athens? Beijing? Any of the major California cities? Moscow?
Haha this gave me a chuckle. Yeah there are many questions that died with this character and it is a shame we never got to see him with Zeus in a flashback. But given that Zeus is basically playing God here, my guess is we may see him again, and if we see him again, maybe we will get a flashback with Hades and him at some point down the road.

ParticipantYeah…the fact that the Roland scene was cut is too bad. But as I’ve said in other threads, although the crystal “ended” him, I would not be surprised Robin came back simply because the crystal is likely Zeus’ and we have seen the power Zeus has with bringing people back.

ParticipantRight and maybe these actions shouldn’t outweigh all the bad. But that’s why I think it was so important to get into Zeus’ mind here. And we didn’t.

ParticipantI like this as you know. His son was his true downfall and only Belle is his moral compass now. And with ehr in a sleeping curse, Rumple is fully off his leash and I love it.
Now with the crystal….I’m not sure what Rumple’s plan is. He also knew Hades brought the crystal with him to storybrooke so does Rumple know about this object somehow and what it can do? And what was the deal Rumple was going to offer Hades? I just find Rumple so intriguing when he’s dark because he’s so conniving and he knows when to lay low and when to pick his battles. It’s all about survival with him. He knew the heroes would find a way to defeat Hades, so he tried to get something out of it before it happened. Rumple wasn’t going to kill him unless he went after Belle. I’ll be interested to see what Rumple does moving forward.

ParticipantActually they did. Hades himself told Zelena in the beginning of the episode what the crystal did. They didn’t need the pages at all.
Yeah you are right. For me, it was more about Hook’s intentions. It’s not his fault that Hades blabbed it to Zelena. And it’s not his fault that Emma somehow couldn’t get inside to help everyone. But he did what he could from where he was. And I guess that was enough for Zeus? But again, a flashback to show Zeus and Hades would have helped a lot.

ParticipantAs far as Hook getting resurrected, I am very torn. We all knew he was going to come back. Honestly, a God like Zeus pardoning him and bringing him back is waaaaaaaayy better than some magic macguffin he could have found in Hades’ lair. However, the reasoning behind Zeus’ decision is questionable. And this is where I really wish we got a backstory of him and Hades. If we saw how much he loathed Hades, or how horrible Hades was to Zeus, it would make a little more sense why Hook helping the others kill him would rank high in his books. Maybe Zeus is a little corrupt with his power? Maybe Robin should be brought back to life, but maybe Zeus is corrupt and doesn’t really care. Maybe he hated Hades so much that the small thing Hook did was worth saving him in his eyes? But again, we won’t understand Zeus’ motivation or behavior because we didn’t see him and Hades interact at all in a flashback. I think a flashback would have helped this scene immensely.
But again, you guys never let down all the not so great things Hook does and says, but when he does good things like saving Arthur and helping him find his purpose and redemption, and then helping to to kill Hades and therefore helping to save Regina and Emma and everyone (despite Zelena finding the crystal information out herself), we need to highlight them as well. I don’t care if Hades told Zelena about the crystal. It was Hook’s intentions that in Zeus’ mind, made him worth saving. But I think this episode showed how far Hook has come, and despite the many flaws he has, like we all do, there is no denying his undying love for Emma and now he’s started to save others too. He could have let Arthur die people. He chose not to. That’s a big step for the character, I thought.
Now as far as Robin coming back goes, I too think we’ll see him again. The crystal was likely made by Zeus so if anyone can bring Robin back, it would be him.

ParticipantAnd another thing to add…..that whole episode, Hook was concerned about no one but Emma. Not Henry, not Snow White & Charming, not Regina or Robin, all who came to Hell in the first place to get him….no one but Emma! I get that they’re supposed to be considered “true love” and all now, but that’s very unsettling because it further proves the theory that everyone in that family could die, and Hook wouldn’t bat an eye as long as it isn’t Emma.
Ok let’s not go off the rail here. Maybe in this specific episode he didn’t acknowledge everyone being in pril, and not just Emma, but he has acknowledged the danger he brought upon the entire family. Have we already forgotten his conversation with Charming? To say he wouldn’t bat an eye if the rest of them died is just silly, and quite frankly, some anti-hook nonsense.
