I don’t find that kind of character regression very interesting. If the main reason to kill off Robin (assuming he dies) is just to send Regina back over the edge or to make her suffer, it sends a terrible message that characters who are essentially good parents aren’t worth keeping around.

I just feel like you could say that about any good character who dies.  You can take any good quality they bring and say that the writers clearly must not value that quality because they are killing them off.  In this case, a good father.  How do these writers kill any “good” characters without people potentially overthinking it and making it a personal thing about what the writer’s believe or that there is some underlying message?

Robin is the most boring person on this show.  Period.  And to me, it isn’t close.  I never bought that he was Regina’s true love, regardless about what Tink said and showed her.  I never found their chemistry to be all that amazing and the man is useless when it comes to fighting because everyone else is stronger than him so it’s hard to use him.  And his backstory ain’t that interesting either.  I am very happy to potentially see him go, however I am torn because Regina is like one of my favorite characters and this is going to crush her.  But I know Lana is going to do an amazing job with it, and I’m excited to see that.  And I think as long as the show doesn’t just forget Robin ever existed, this will be totally fine.

I don’t think this is going to spiral Regina down an evil path again.  That I don’t want to see.  I’m excited to see if Regina finds someone else before the show is over.  Or even better, perhaps the message is that true love can be found in many different ways and Regina does not need a man to have her happy ending.  Perhaps her happy ending was here the whole time.  Perhaps it’s simply having her son, Henry, and now adding Roland, and potentially putting issues aside and making amends with her sister and having a family who loves her.  It would parallel her own mother and what she said before she died…….Henry would be enough.

To me, all of that is very interesting and I’d love to see it.  But Robin, is not interesting.  He tags along, they don’t use him.  Good riddance as far as I’m concerned.

With all due respect, I can look at it however I want. I do have to question the writers’ judgement if that in fact does occur. I never said anyone else had to question it. I just said I did.

Still don’t understand why you take a personal offense to things I say sometimes.  I am simply commenting on what you said, and I happen to disagree with it.  Has no one disagreed with you on here until now?  I use the word “I” many times because it is what I think.  I, emphasis on I, don’t think it’s fair to call their morality in question simply for killing off a good person and keeping a bad one, especially if the killing off of the good one moves the story and affects characters in a profound and interesting way.  Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t believe I ever said you weren’t allowed to look at it with your own perspective or feel differently.  Or that you were wrong.  But aren’t I allowed to disagree without getting a snarky “with all due respect, I can look at it however I want,” comment?  Sheesh.

Awe! This adorable pic is so bittersweet, especially if the filming set reports turn out to be true. Seriously, if the writers think killing off yet another honorable thief and father in favor of a pirate who nearly got the town all killed is a good idea, then I have to seriously question their morality.

I just don’t think we can look at it like that.  Major deaths of “good” people and keeping a “bad” person alive, is not a reflection of the writer’s morality.  That’s not fair.  I’m assuming Robin’s alleged death will be important and will affect the story, especially Regina’s.  As long as his death isn’t for nothing, I can’t put the writer’s morality in question.

I think Merida might have a backstory with Robin. They’re both expert archers. Episode 5×21 being a character centric for Robin makes sense if he does indeed die in it. The episode title “Last Rites” being about death also makes it seem like the funeral will occur in this episode.

    Bingo.

Why would the length of time they’re down there matter? Surely, just being there is risk enough, but what does duration of time have to do with the danger?

Duration of time matters because they have no idea who they are tangling with here, and are super unfamiliar with what Hades is all about and what his motives are.  So whenever you are in a situation like that, you want to get out of that situation as soon as possible.  They do not belong there.  They are not dead.  The longer they stay, the more likely they will trifle with the dead souls who hate them and the God of the Dead himself.  If they just go in, get out, they can take away as much of the unknown as possible by not engaging anyone.  I think it’s more common sense than the idea that there is a specific reason they need to spend as little time there as possible.

Well if the rumours are true and the blind item in about Robin, he will die on 523 and if we are to believe that merida will appear only on 522 and 523 then 521 is Hades and not Robin and that there is one Prince marcus casting that i think is Zeus.

I’m actually inclined to think that the blind item is not Robin, simply because it says a “star” will be killed off.  I’m sorry but Robin is no star.  And based on the fact that I think we are supposed to see some of Robin’s gang like Little John for instance in Last Rites, I still think it’s Robin centric.  And I think it’s entirely possibly that the blind item is not about Robin, but that Robin could still bite the bullet, just not in the finale like the blind item says.

Just going to throw this out there even though I know its unlikely but what if the brothers are: Roy & Walt Disney.

Now THAT is an idea.  The brothers grimm seems too….how do I put this, less mainstream.  Like many wouldn’t know or care about the brothers grimm.  But with Disney…oh boy now that people can sink their teeth into.  And it makes a lot of sense.  And Walt has been referred to already on the show…..hmmmmm….

It’s not the finale. There are 23 episodes this season. We have one more to go.

Thanks yeah, just noticed that.  Then perhaps the finale title will give us more insight.  But as I said in a previous thread, I still don’t think we haven’t gotten a Hades centric.  I’m think Robin’s may be “Last Rites,” given some rumors that have been circling around.  And if that’s the case, Hades’ episode could be “Only You,” referring to maybe Zelena.  And then maybe the two brothers being cast for the finale are actually a young version of Zeus and Hades?  Or did they say they were older in the casting call?  Just speculating here.

Anyone think this is Robin’s episode?  With all the rumors circling around, that’s my guess.  Which would mean no Hades episode just yet.

But like, are they really setting us up for Emma and Neal?  Like they couldn’t do that right?  We all said his other show would make him unavailable.  It just seems odd that MRJ seemed to be filming for a couple hours which would dictate more than just the one scene we saw.  Is there more at the end?  Or is this just a seal on the CS train?
