ParticipantThey said last Thursday that new items would be unlocked “tomorrow” meaning Friday, in our time. It’s now Tuesday and nothing has – or has it? I’ve also noticed that we now have an hour glass that says “magic comes to those that wait”. We also have a clock above the menu button. The clock originally started counting from 2:50 on. It has now changed and gone backwards 5 minutes to 2:45. It counts minutes but no hours as it keeps resetting itself to 2:00 and counts down 60 minutes but resets again at 2:00. Are they hitting that SB will now flashbackwards in time? On Gold’s desk, in the upper right hand corner, we see a picture of Snow. Beneath it is a quote from FDR’s 1940 Charlottesville Address. These guys are too smart for this to be a glitch in the game. They wouldn’t have released it if it weren’t up and running. Something is definitely up with time and they’re giving us clues.

ParticipantThe motivation for J.M. Barrie writing Peter Pan was the death of his 13 year old brother. His brother died 2 days before his 14th birthday. Note that Bae was 14 when he disappeared.
Barrie called Peter and the children of Neverland `lost boys`. This was in reference to parents that had lost children to death, as his mother had. Note that Rumples ALWAYS refers to Bae as being `lost`.
Peter Pan and the other lost boys were caught between two worlds. Life & death. Note that Bae is caught between two worlds, magic & real world.
The Blue Fairy instructs Bae to follow the magic bean wherever it leads him. This leads us to believe that he went to at least one other world before reaching ours.
Robert Carlyle has admitted that Rumples is several centuries old. So timeline for Bae going missing is many centuries as well, as he went through the vortex when Rumples first took power. The 1st and 2nd Ogre Wars also show us that time frame. This was long before Snow, PC, EQ, Gepetto, Jiminy, etc. So, considering that Bae is several centuries old, it would make sense if he landed in Neverland and remained 14 prior to coming to the real world.
Peter Pan would travel to the real world and bring children back to Neverland. Emma was an orphan, living in an orphanage. What if Peter traveled there looking for `lost boys`. Bae had a friend Morraine back in FTL. I believe a young Emma would have resembled Morraine in many ways. Perhaps Peter became quite taken with Emma and decided to stay. Perhaps Emma convinced him to stay, just as Wendy attempted to do in the original story. Perhaps he ended up in that same orphanage from 14 on, developed a friendship with Emma that ended in their late teens. That could also bring into play the possibility of Bae, aka Peter Pan, being Henry`s father.
We now have Captain Hook in SB. K&H also stated that we would find out about Bae this season as we would about Henry`s father. Funny how they have brought Michael Raymond-James in, with a recurring role, and have been so secretive about his character. Let`s not forget how uncanny his resemblance is to Dylan Schmid, young Baelfire.
This has been my theory since last February that Bae would end up as Peter Pan. Recent spoilers have only convinced more. In Season 2 stills, we see Henry floating outside his window. Coincidence? I don’t think so. I think he inherited his father’s special gift of flying. In the upcoming issue of TV Guide, posted here under the News tab, Josh Dallas says this about Emma & Henry’s father: “there is a certain percentage of this man that Emma knows, and a certain part that she doesn’t. She had some sort of relationship with him, but there is an element of surprise for Emma as to the fullness of who this man is.” This would follow my theory of Peter Pan showing up at Emma’s orphanage at 14 and remaining for a number of years. She knows him as an adolescent/young adult from the orphanage but has no idea of his Fairy Tale character.

I don’t think Bae as Peter works. Bae is a sweet boy who just wants his father back and wants a normal life. Peter is a cocky show off who doesn’t have much of an understanding of compassion and always seeks out adventure.
I don’t know about that. We’ve seen Season 2 stills of Henry seemingly floating outside his bedroom window already. In the upcoming TV Guide issue, Josh Dallas talked about Emma & Henry’s dad. Here is what he said: “there is a certain percentage of this man that Emma knows, and a certain part that she doesn’t. She had some sort of relationship with him, but there is an element of surprise for Emma as to the fullness of who this man is.”
It makes sense to me that if Bae is indeed Peter Pan, Emma would not know this and only know him as a child of 14 onwards. The surprise would be that she finding out his true FT identity. Henry, being his son, might inherit his special “flying” abilities. Seems to me it’s looking more and more like a probability.

ParticipantI`m with tcyoder on this one. Now, I wouldn`t be surprised to find out Dr. Whale was Peter Pan, even though I believe he is Frankenstein. I`ve posted both thoughts on this under `Who is Dr. Whale. New Points to Consider` thread. But my first hope has always been that Bae would turn up as Peter Pan and I did a lot of research about that back when I thought AWB could be Bae aka Peter Pan.

ParticipantNow I know I’m big on the Frankenstein theory but I haven’t ruled out Peter Pan. There are lots of clues that make a good argument for this.
SB dating video: Dr. Whale – “sparks will fly”. Peter does fly and Tinkerbell might be considered as being rather sparkly with pixie dust. “Listen to the best of Sting”. Disney is re-releasing Peter Pan and did a recent poll on which rock star could be Peter Pan. The winner? You guessed it, Sting. They say he is forever young.
J.M. Barrie based his character’s name on Peter Davies (one of the children he told the story to) and the God Pan. Archie noted that Dr. Whale suffered from a God Complex. The God Pan was notoriously mischievous and considered a lecherous God (Ruby & Snow). Another entry states “he suffers from an inflated sense of self. In the Broadway musical there is a song titled “I Gotta Crow”. Here is a link to the lyrics: http://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/peterpan/ivegottacrow.htm
Archie also states “frames himself victor in all conflicts”. Peter Pan is always the victor.
Spoilers in 2×05 state Regina is driving at night, in the rain, when she sees a mysterious person in the shadows. What if that was Captain Hook skulking around town looking for Peter? New stills released show Captain Hooks ship in Port for 2×06. What if Dr. Whale’s injured/lsevered arm is a result of Hook taking vengeance? Dr. Whale & Hook’s episodes seem to coincide with each other.
So many possibilities. I’ll be happy with either Frankie or Peter Pan though 🙂

ParticipantI agree Marilou. All that tension with Gold & AWB in The Return and all Belle got in the finale was the bum’s rush. Would be great to see her on her own this season.

I am still having a hard time caring who Whale is. I am actually slightly annoyed that they are giving him an episode.
I think maybe it’s because they’ve kept him on the back burner for so long. After watching the recent promo, he looks like his character is going to bring a lot more to the series. In it, he seems to be standing next to EQ, as though he’s her right hand man, as she attempts to unleash her magic at the crowd. However, when she realizes that her magic didn’t work, he seems to be smiling smugly at her as if he’s happy she’s powerless. So I’m thinking he’s definitely going to be a force to b reckoned with. I loved him in Heroes. We just got to give his character a chance to stand out.

If they wait until the end of the season to tell us then he had better die in the process because i know i will be sick of him. I already don’t care so for them to waste that sort of time hiding it would just be frustrating.
I don’t think they will. David Anders has said that we will find out who Dr. Whale is during the Halloween episode which is episode 5. K&H also said we’d know early in the 2nd Season. So hang tight, only a month and a half to go!
