ParticipantQuestion: how can Hook and Rumple be alive in the Pre-Curse EF if Rumple isn’t the Dark One and Hook (probably) never went to NL and “froze” for 200+ years?
From what I gather, what is happening with this AU is that the past isn’t technically changed, but rather personalities and memories are suddenly changed. Isaac is starting this new story from a clean slate with the characters he is writing about. After all, this is a new book entirely entitled “Heroes and Villains”, rather than altering the original “Once Upon a Time” book.
I agree. Isaac can’t go back and change the past, he has limitations. What he does is change their current situation. All memories of the past are wiped clean with new ones replacing them. With Zelena being written out of the story, it would be as though she never existed nor would anyone remember that she did. Isaac can’t bring back the dead but he can certainly leave people out in present.

ParticipantWhat a fun thread! So glad you posted this Sci-fi-girl. 🙂
Paul Weller’s Aim High reminds me of Rumbelle and how Rumple loves & needs Belle. She makes him aim high for their relationship, for him to become a better person & she completes him. It doesn’t hurt either that RC is a huge Weller fan. A few years back, a fan tweeted & asked him what his favourite LP was. RC tweeted back he was listening to Weller’s Days of Speed LP. Rightly so, as DOS is such a great live acoustic LP. Apparently, he & Weller are good friends and they look so much alike. Weller could easily play Rumple’s brother. The song is so melodic & beautiful; you can get lost in the string section. If Rumple & Belle were having a romantic evening at home, I’m sure this is what Rumple would be spinning in the turntable. 🙂

ParticipantPermanent death, I’m calling Mal. The show doesn’t need two Dragons. With Lily on board, Mal is now expendable and Mal’s death would surely set off her daughter.
Temporary death, I’m going with Rumple or Emma or both.
Finding out about AWB knowing about Neal, I’m going with the Apprentice. He’s already presented himself to Lily and did a course correction. Makes sense he did the same with AWB.

ParticipantI may be totally wrong, but doesn’t he say “I can’t leave her“?
Robin said “I can’t leave her here.” The “here” is very important because to leave the word out changes the meaning of his statement to one about whether he is staying with Zelena, when it is a statement about Robina and Zelena’s location.
Adam & Eddie always choose their words carefully. The “HERE” part is all telling. In my opinion, Robin isn’t saying he can’t leave Zelena; he is saying he can’t leave her in NY because she’s pregnant with his child, so he must bring her back to SB with them. He has no intention of staying with Zelena. He only wants to keep his eye on her until the child is born or they find out she’s been lying.

ParticipantBut seriously, even if it did happen, I take it as Robin staying to protect his unborn child.
That is exactly how it seemed to me. Robin didn’t choose Zelena over Regina. He chose to protect his unborn child. That is the definition of honor (protecting the innocent).
Hear! Hear! A parent will do anything to protect their child and you nailed it, Slurpeez. Robin’s code of honour is protecting his innocent child. 🙂

ParticipantThe fellow whose heart EQ crushed looks to be the “young man” played by Jeremy Patrick Schuetze as he has a distinctive mole on his right cheek and we can see in the sneak peek. His right ear, as it aligns to both eye and nose seems to match up as well. I could be wrong, but I’ve been trained to match up government ID to people’s faces and these are the things we look for. 🙂

ParticipantAre they going for a Dallas dream sequence where Regina dreams this all as she’s cat napping in the car on the way to NY? 😉
But seriously, even if it did happen, I take it as Robin staying to protect his unborn child. Maybe Robin had already figured out that Zelena is in fact Marian and it’s just a ploy to keep others safe until her defences are down. Will be interesting to watch this Sunday.
On the rape issue. I don’t see it like that at all. People impersonate others all the time in the real world. Identity theft is a very real problem. Just because people aren’t magically transformed on the exterior, they still present themselves as someone they aren’t to their spouses, partners, girlfriends/boyfriends. How many fugitives and scam artists at large have been apprehended without their loved ones truly knowing who they really are? I’ve never heard of them being charged with rape. Robin was still a consenting adult and he was never physically forced into anything. He was duped, not raped.
I do believe that the individual whose heart EQ crushes is the young man, played by Jeremy Patrick Schuetze. He has a distinctive mole on the right side of his face and it can be clearly seen in the video as well.

ParticipantThe Severe Nurse… Isn’t that the lady who works down in regina’s little hospital of the insane?
The severe nurse is a nod to Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and the custodian in the hospital basement, who we’ve seen pushing the mop, is another nod to the movie’s character Chief Bromden. I just want to see him offer someone a stick of Juicy Fruit gum before the series ends. Just once, that’s all I’m asking. 🙂

ParticipantHere’s my final question of the night for this thread: Why didn’t the Apprentice go to Emma as well?
Two reasons come to mind.
1) He needed to go to Lily because she was absolutely alone and her fate had drastically changed as she was never meant to be sent out into our world. He was her course correction.
2) He did to go to Emma but indirectly by way of August. The DC had pretty much guaranteed Emma’s fate as the Saviour, but seeing as August had lost his way, that’s where The Apprentice had to intervene with a course correction.

ParticipantI’m the odd gal out as I believe that this is not the end for Rumbelle. While there are lots of arguments supporting that it’s the end, and I agree with much that was said, I’m trying to think along the lines of A&E.
Rumple did something unselfish by returning Belle’s heart to her. He also acknowledged defeat and acceptance when he told her that Will is now the man to protect her heart.
A few things I noticed was the look of happiness when Rumple restore her heart and she came out of her trance and looked upon his face. She still loves him.
When Will reached for her hand, she didn’t reciprocate. She just doesn’t feel that way about Will.
As Rumple left the shop, she pulled away from Will and you could see the look of pain & love in her face for Rumple.
They directed that scene with very telling signs about how Belle truly feels about Rumple.
So, I say it’s not over and what Rumple did will allow Belle to open her heart and forgive him again.
