You have really good points. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were true. Great work. I love the idea that he could be the writer of Henry’s book. But I still hoping that Hook will be Peter Pan.
Thanks Tiara 😀 I’m open to other theories but had to put this one out there as so many things are screaming he’s a writer.

ParticipantI’m really leaning towards Greg being the writer of Henry’s book. I suggested that back last Sunday in another thread and have been doing a lot of digging on all the clues leading to this conclusion. They involve his name, his license plate and his cell phone. As there are so many threads about Ethan/Greg/Outsider, as well as some about his license plate and some about his cell phone, I just decided to make a whole new thread dealing with all three of them under 2×12 forum. Lots of info pointing towards a sci-fi/fantasy writer though. Also thinking he could be Peter Pan, earning his living as a writer. However, I’m still holding out hope for Neal/Bae/Peter Pan.

ParticipantGreat pics and thanks for sharing Kiwi!
I’m thinking two things here. One, maybe the dagger no longer holds any magic/power over the dark one. Perhaps Rumple is finally free of the curse.
Two, we’ve seen Rumple take the power but we’ve yet to see someone wield the power, so perhaps Cora or Reggie will do so with Rumple.
It’s getting interesting! 😀

Yeah I thought WWI also by the look of the brother’s uniform. I may be mistaken, but didn’t “Frankenstein” take place in Austria?
Nope, in Switzerland and Germany, Scotland and near to the North Pole.

What they are going for is the old 1930’s and 1940’s gothic horror look. Black and white film, turn of the century costumes as well as German Officer coats (we saw this in the The Doctor with Dr. Frankenstein’s coat). Most stories like Frankenstein or Dracula took place in countries like Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Yugoslavia, Romania, etc. The Wolfman took place in turn of the century Whales.
Personally, I wouldn’t get too hung up on the exact country. Like I said, it’s all about showing us that it’s the story book world of classic horror monsters. It’s another time period, in the real world, otherwise Rumple would never have been able to access it. It’s a fantasy world of gothic horror novels and movies.
Agreed, it’s not so important exactly which country. It’s a world mimicking a fictional genre and how it was envisioned at some point.
Nevertheless find it interesting that they deviate from classic Frankenstein here and put the Frankensteins in a fictional Austria. Not important but interesting. Can’t help it. :geek:
Have to agree with you on that last point. I have to say that I’m very impressed by your knowledge of Prussia’s history. If anything, all of this Frankenstein stuff will get many people to open up the web (or books), do a little research and learn some interesting facts. Good stuff all the way around. 🙂
PS Meant to say in my original post that it’s another time perirod BUT NOT in the real world.

Found this theory in the fanforum.com ouat spoilers:
Greg’s full name evokes Gregor Mendel, the geneticist best known to 9th graders everywhere as “that monk with the peas.” That is a hint of his supposedly real identity — the author of Henry’s book, the founder of the entire Fairytale land, the creator of every character, the digger of Storybrooke’s gene pool! His masterpiece brought him to this little town! I can’t wait to see his face at the moment when he glanced at the book.
I suggested this on another thread, Sunday after the show. https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=2571
I have a few theories I’m mulling over but this theory is certainly one of them. They did say we’d find out who wrote Henry’s book this season. Maybe his surprise was seeing Belle, Rumple and Hook, 3 of his main characters, out hanging on a country road.

She looks great in civies but I will miss her fairy tale costumes. Between Cora and Reggie the outfits were spectacular!

Gypsy actual dug that up but what I can tell you is that KFL means Kips (kilopounds) per Lineal Foot thus 2kfl. Best I can do as math/science was never my forte 🙂
OK, thanks. I can’t imagine how that unit might be significant but it’s always fun to engage in wild speculation. Another off-the wall idea that occurred to me was that “2KFL” could stand for “2000 Florida” – a reference to the 2000 U.S. presidential election. But I think we can safely dismiss that possibility since the character’s name turned out to be Greg and not Chad! 😀
Seriously, I’m beginning to doubt the license plate may hold any significance, except to emphasise that he is from out of state. But picking a name as famous as Greg(or) Mendel can’t be a coincidence. I suspect he’s going to wind up getting involved in Dr. Whale’s story somehow.
I could be significant because KFL is used for math and science thus further referencing the scientist Gregor Mendel. Personally, I’m not leaning towards that theory but I haven’t ruled it out either.
