I kind of think you’re grasping at straws…

Maybe Faux Pax, but as Gypsy said, that whole window scene was about Peter Pan. Wouldn’t be the first time I was told I grasping at straws. However, sometimes theories, like Frankenstein’s, do pan out. (gosh, I can’t type a thing this morning! Had to edit a 3 sentences twice! 😆

That is an interesting observation GoldenKey and your Frankenstein theory does appear to be spot on.

In another thread, I posted a theory about Henry’s father being Bae’s son. What if, rather than using the character of Peter Pan, the writers are distributing aspects of the story to other characters. (Perhaps not just any characters either but characters related to Rumple). For example:

Rumple cut off Hook’s hand. (Peter did this)

Your theory about Mystery man losing his “shadow” at the window. (Peter lost his shadow) I believe mystery man to be Henry’s father who is Bae’s son.

In my theory posted here https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=19&p=22924#p22924 Bae comes through to our world. He is upset and emotional and a girl (Wendy) comes up to him and asks “Boy, why are you crying?” (Wendy asked Peter that question)

Gosh, so many of us really want Bae to turn out to be Peter Pan! 😀 I’ll head over and check out your theory, Love reading everyone’s thoughts and ideas 😀

Glad somebody agrees with me about him being Peter Pan! Awesome connections, I never would have thought to analyze the phone.

One thing I noticed on re-watch of Desperate Souls is that Bae says he is 3 days away from his 14th birthday which is when he would be sent off to fight in the Ogre Wars. In Hook, a grown-up Peter has 3 days to prepare to battle Hook.

And then there’s the near constant referral to Bae as being either “lost” or “boy” (Peter is very often called just “boy”).

As Peter Pan traveled back and forth between our world and Neverland it’s entirely possible that Bae somehow ended up there and just got stuck in our world at the time of the curse.

Hi Kat 🙂 Yes, I am so hoping Neal turns out to be Peter Pan. I’m 99% certain that he’ll be Henry’s dad and Bae and 90% that he will also be Peter. Here’s a link to my theory about it if you want to have a look. https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1462

    I like your theory AntBee.

The thing that strikes me is that Embry doesn’t look anything like young Bae. His hair is lighter, pale complexion and blue eyes. I hate to say this, because I really want MRJ to be Peter Pan/Bae, but Embry’s features do remind me of Peter Pan. Important to note that Brent BARRETT is playing Captain Hook in the new Peter Pan play that’s touring with Cathy Rigby.

    On a related note…

If Neal is Bae, I wonder if Rumple will suspect him this time. He might have his blinders on a little bit, given his new, self-appointed task of breaking the barrier curse. He might be so distracted by pitting magic against magic that he might not even notice Bae is right under his nose.

It’s agonizing, but they might write it so that WE find out who Bae is by the end of Season 2, but Rumple doesn’t.

I admit, it would be funny if Rumple just thinks: “Oh interesting. Henry’s birth father.” and moves on. And then maybe in some climactic scene – maybe Hook is about to kill Rumple, or Cora is about to harm Henry – Bae reveals himself and saves the day. Or something. I can’t express how much I’m dying to see this reunion, but I agree TheGoldenKey; the big Bae-related stuff will probably happen near the end of season (if not the series *gulp*).

Here are my thoughts on this. Bae, having been abandoned himself by this father, would never do the same to his own child. So I don’t think he’d know that Henry is his. Thus, if he is indeed Neal Cassady, would explain why he has never tried to contact Emma or make his way to Storybrooke.

I also think that after Rumple let him go that was the final straw for him. He’s running from his father and has no interest at this time to reunite. So, I think the postcard was a warning. A warning to watch his back as his father is now going to come looking for him.

Yes, it is the commentary that i was thinking on. The producers say something like they wrote the part for Robert but never thought they would get him. They say something like they had so much fun with the character that it expanded on writing the scene for him in the Pilot that they then made him be in two scenes in the pilot. They say his role expanded so that he could be at the end of the pilot to because they fell in love with his role and he became a huge part of the fabric and DNA of the show.

They don’t quite come out and say what i was saying though, so maybe they didn’t mean it though that is how it sounded to me the first time i heard it. That they did not intend him to be a big part of the DNA of the show and then as they started writing him he become a bigger part. I don’t know.

It doesn’t matter really at this point. I think Bae is the father. I totally agree that the producers have completely given the game away. The only thing in the show that would suggest it is just that Bae vanished to our world and Emma had a baby so that that guy would be important and that Bae is the only fairytale character out there that we know of. And just the simple Romeo and Juliet of it all with the Dark One’s son and the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. That is just classic story telling going on there.

Yes, I think you’re right hjbau. They did say that they were so surprised and thrilled to have gotten Robert. They really didn’t expect that he’d do it!. I can understand how the rest of their statement could be interpreted to mean that they expanded his role beyond the pilot 🙂

I guess we’re all in agreement that Bae is shaping up to be Henry’s dad and it’s looking like Neal Cassady 😀 While we find out about Henry’s father in 2×06 I just hope we don’t have to wait until the end of the season to find out about Bae. It will be a long 7 months…sigh………

The producers also said in some interview that they were just going to have Rumpel in the pilot and that was all until they got Robert. Who knows when exactly that all went down, but i think the initial thought was always the child of Snow White and Prince Charming, but then once they got Robert to be Rumpel, they decided to do more with that character.

I don’t know hjbau. K&H have said numerous times that the story has always centered around Rumple.

In K&H’s recent podcast this is what they said:

“Right when we were doing the pilot and we were talking about the back stories and we knew that rumple’s story related to loss of his son. We had decided then that everything he would be doing from then on would be in service of reuniting with the son. We kind of had it plotted out in the beginning. A lot of the pieces from S1 we put on chessboard and where we’ve starting moving them around for S2 to get to the places we wanted to go to from the beginning. There is a plan for what we want on how they (characters) relate to one another and what they want that goes back to the genesis of the pilot (Bae) and now we’re seeing next evolution of all of their journeys.”

I found it odd that Robert Carlyle was not nominated for Favourite Dramatic Tv Actor. However, there is a box where you can check off “other” and you can enter his name. Just a head’s up for those Carlyle fans.

K&H have always said that this story/series is centered around Rumple’s story. Thus, whose story could be more important or equal to Rumple’s? His son Bae’s. Phee also pointed out that Peter Pan is Adam Horowitz’ favourite fairy tale. For those of us who have always believed we’d see Bae as Peter Pan and Henry’s father, the clues have always been there. The fact that they tied in Rumple’s family so closely to Hook just adds more support to this. Bae as Rumple’s son, can not be a minor fairy tale character. He has to be BIG and they don’t come any bigger than Peter Pan. Mind you, I could support Robin Hood.
