Helloe everyone! First post! π
I was surprised by this scene too. At first, I thought I was watching the wrong show. But when I saw Jennifer Morisson’s name, I knew I was on the right station.
I’m also a believer of the new guy being Baelfire. Or at least I hope he is (I’m kind of crushing on him).
LOL! Cherish! Hello & welcome π
I thought the same thing until I saw Michael Raymond James’ face. I really enjoyed the song selection though. Charley’s Girl by Lou Reed just seemed so fitting!
Crushing on him a little bit myself π

ParticipantCan’t remember where I read it, but in an interview with K&H, they said other worlds were also affected by the dark curse. So it’s not just the enchanted forest/kingdom. I think they’ve all collided via the curse and they’re all spread out throughout various kingdoms now.

ParticipantI’ve believed since last Feb. that Bae is Peter Pan and now Henry’s father as well. Here is my theory:
The motivation for J.M. Barrie writing Peter Pan was the death of his 13 year old brother. His brother died 2 days before his 14th birthday. Note that Bae was 14 when he disappeared.
Barrie called Peter and the children of Neverland `lost boys`. This was in reference to parents that had lost children to death, as his mother had. Note that Rumples ALWAYS refers to Bae as being `lost`.
Peter Pan and the other lost boys were caught between two worlds. Life & death. Note that Bae is caught between two worlds, magic & real world.
The Blue Fairy instructs Bae to follow the magic bean wherever it leads him. This leads us to believe that he went to at least one other world before reaching ours.
Robert Carlyle has admitted that Rumples is several centuries old. So timeline for Bae going missing is many centuries as well, as he went through the vortex when Rumples first took power. The 1st and 2nd Ogre Wars also show us that time frame. This was long before Snow, PC, EQ, Gepetto, Jiminy, etc. So, considering that Bae is several centuries old, it would make sense if he landed in Neverland and remained 14 prior to coming to the real world.
Peter Pan would travel to the real world and bring children back to Neverland. Emma was an orphan, living in an orphanage. What if Peter traveled there looking for `lost boys`. Bae had a friend Morraine back in FTL. I believe a young Emma would have resembled Morraine in many ways. Perhaps Peter became quite taken with Emma and decided to stay. Perhaps Emma convinced him to stay, just as Wendy attempted to do in the original story. Perhaps he ended up in that same orphanage from 14 on, developed a friendship with Emma that ended in their late teens. That could also bring into play the possibility of Bae, aka Peter Pan, being Henry`s father.
We now have Captain Hook in SB. K&H also stated that we would find out about Bae this season as we would about Henry`s father. Funny how they have brought Michael Raymond-James in, with a recurring role, and have been so secretive about his character. Let`s not forget how uncanny his resemblance is to Dylan Schmid, young Baelfire.
This has been my theory since last February that Bae would end up as Peter Pan. Recent spoilers have only convinced more. In Season 2 stills, we see Henry floating outside his window. Coincidence? I don’t think so. I think he inherited his father’s special gift of flying. In the upcoming issue of TV Guide, Josh Dallas says this about Emma & Henry’s father: βthere is a certain percentage of this man that Emma knows, and a certain part that she doesnβt. She had some sort of relationship with him, but there is an element of surprise for Emma as to the fullness of who this man is.β This would follow my theory of Peter Pan showing up at Emma’s orphanage at 14 and remaining for a number of years. She knows him as an adolescent/young adult from the orphanage but has no idea of his Fairy Tale character.
In the episode The Stranger, I always though it odd that AWB kniew to call Gold Papa when he himself called Gepetto Father. Who told him that’s what Bae called Rumple? The Blue Fairy? Possibly, however, I believe that somewhere, either in the orphanage or out in the real world, Bae & AWB met and that’s how AWB knows so much about Rumple. Even if AWB is now turned to wood, he certainly could have relayed info about Bae to the Blue Fairy, or Jefferson (yeah, I believe there’s a connection with Jefferson/Bae/AWB) or even Henry during Operation Cobra. AWB made provinsions to make sure that someone knew about Bae’s existance & whereabouts should he not be able to notify him himself.

ParticipantGypsy, I’m sure we’ve discussed this off board before as well as we’ve discussed everything else! LOL! Love collaborating with you on our theories and we’ve worked hard on Frankie. I only hope it’s not another red herring. K&H are so good at doing that!

ParticipantThat sounds like a spot on theory. I’m excited to see if this is the case now seeing as Daniel being the monster has been circulating the forum for a little while now
Thanks Tzierdt π Lil’Red and I were discussing it a little over a week ago. Who else would have motive for wanting Dr. Frankie here? Only EQ – for Daniel or her father Henry. Sort of validates how Dr. Frankie would fit into the story.

ParticipantLil’Red and I were discussing Daniel being the monster, back on the 22nd, under Episode 5 Title thread. With all the clues and now this promo, I’m even more convinced that Dr. Whale is Dr. Frankie! Gypsy also recently found another important clue to add to our theory. To quote Gypsy : “K&H said they planted clues about Dr. Whale early on in season one….in The Shepherd (ep 6) Dr. Whale says to MM “I’m a hell of a doctor, huh?” That is a quote from a movie “Extreme Measures”…that movie was likened to Frankenstein because of it’s premise.” The premise in the movie is that they would steal bodies and experiment on them. Go Team Frankie!

ParticipantAfter watching the promo, I’m more and more convinced that Dr. Whale is Dr. Frankie. We see EQ, Jefferson & Dr. Whale in the shots. My thinking is that this is how EQ met them both. She got Jefferson to travel to another realm in hopes of bringing back someone who could resurrect Daniel. Obvious choice, Dr. Frankenstein. Now it could be her father Henry under the sheets in that tent, but I’m thinking it happened much earlier on and that it’s Daniel.

ParticipantLOL slurpeez!
If Jefferson’s curse was to always remember then certainly Peter Pan’s curse could be that he grew up. All the ladies loved him, Tinkerbell, Wendy, Tiger Lilly, but no one was ever allowed to touch him nor did he feel that way about the ladies.. Reversal of that would be the hound that he is. I’d still prefer to see Bae as Peter and Dr. Whale as Frankie, but not ruling out Whale as Big Bad Wolf or Peter.

I was able to guess who August fairly quickly but figuring out who Dr. Whale is just seems mor tricky. He can’t be Peter Pan it’s too obvious… he has to be someone we’ve all heard of but not from the enchanted forest since it’s implied he’s from a world we maybe haven’t seen yet… I don’t he can be the big bad wolf or the wizard of Oz either since those would also be first guesses. I’m thinking his profession has something to do with his fairy tale character too. The Frankenstein idea is intriguing it’s definitely out of the box but falls in line with the reveal being on Halloween. Then again if we’re talking classic horror and womanizers we can also throw Count Dracula in the mix what with then pic of him with blood on his shirt? The cooler possibly holding donated blood? At this point it’s tough since we don’t have too much to go on yet I’m sure after we see him with his memories back we’ll have more clues to throw around.
The thing about the “obvious” is that when we expect the unexpected, they give us the obvious. It was all too obvious that AWB was Pino yet we all believed they would never be that obvious about something. Yet, from the get go, they gave us clues about it. When asked at Paleyfest “where is Pino” they replied “his the wooden Daily Mirror dispenser outside of Granny’s”. AWB was ALWAYS outside of Granny’s on his bike.
I still like my Frankenstein theory, especially if the writers choose to do the “unexpected” this time round. However, should they choose to go the “obvious” route, as they did with AWB/Pino, then I’d say he’s the “real” Big Bad Wolf.
