Hey all. Just wanted to duck in and say hi.
I did wonder if this was going to touch off a battle in Emma. We’ve seen many characters waver back and forth with a dark side or one sort or another. Emma has not. This … this could do it. This could tip her over the edge. She could go after Zelena with no holds whatsoever barred, and man, I want to see her do it as much as I want anything in this show right now. It could actually be interesting character development. (I could see it push her toward learning to use her magic more, too.)
But, man, I don’t like how we got there.

-- Dylan ThomastheoniongirlParticipantI agree; it just doesn’t make sense to me unless there’s more coming. It may be sour grapes, but there are so many holes. The first and foremost that Neal never got to see Henry again. That’s not a bold story, that’s just kicking people in the stomachs and laughing at them. It’s … mean.
If they’re telling the truth at all and this was planned all along, that poster for Neal is either: Another of those mean-spirited kicks in the stomach or a … clue. I don’t know if I can hope for the latter.

RG, I just made it my sig before I saw that, but I’d gladly cede it to you.

-- Dylan ThomastheoniongirlParticipantIt’s really the only good message I could see them building from this.

-- Dylan ThomastheoniongirlParticipantI have a headcanon.
Emma has the necklace back now. And at the final battle of this season, when all seems lost and nothing has worked to break the curse, you’ll see her hold it and it will start to glow. And she’ll realize that true love never really dies and once you’ve had it, it’s always a part of you. And Emma alone (with Neal’s beyond-the-grave true love) will break the curse.
True love never really dies. Sometimes we lose the people we love, but they’re always a part of us.
*sniff*
I have no real reason for it, but it’s my headcanon until proven otherwise, darn it.

-- Dylan ThomastheoniongirlParticipantIs there anything they could do in the rest of the season to reinvest you (collective you) in the show again?
I’ve been trying to figure out if anything could win me back in the slightest. I’d like Emma to decide the heck with romance and focus on Henry. (Here’s a good lesson: You don’t need a man in your life just for the sake of having a man. Gr.) I’d like to see Rumple’s curse truly broken, with Neal’s sacrifice somehow in retrospect being the true love equivalent in concert with a kiss from Belle.
And then I’d like a Rumbelle wedding, with Rumple making some sort of statement about how it was what Bae would have wanted (’cause that’s true, for what it’s worth) and finally accepting he’s worthy of being loved. And taking his grandson under his (non-magical) wing and telling him all he knows about Neal, because Neal would have wanted that, too.
I want Zelena to get hers in the worst possible way.
At this point, I’d like Hook to … just go away.
And even if I got all of that, I don’t think if it would be enough. 🙁

-- Dylan ThomastheoniongirlParticipantI signed up for a volunteer opportunity today that I might have previously written off because, you know, life.
Let’s just say it has to do with making happy … not endings, but experiences … for kids.
It might be silly, but I knew you guys would understand doing something in honor of a fictional character. 🙂

-- Dylan ThomastheoniongirlParticipantIt bothers me hugely that Adam on Twitter seems to think this whole reaction is sort of funny. (See recent tweets.)
Dude, at least respect and understand that you hurt people profoundly with this “storytelling decision.” (And I wouldn’t consider myself hurt profoundly, just immensely disillusioned.)

-- Dylan ThomastheoniongirlParticipantOh, RG, I’m so very sorry. 🙁
My husband lost his dad relatively young. He doesn’t watch OUAT, but I told him what happened and why I was so upset, especially about Henry. (He is a big fan of many other shows, especially anything Trek or most sci-fi, and he HATES it when characters get killed off gratuitously. Major issue.)
He just gave me this look and said, “You know, I’m never going to be able to watch this show with you.” (We’d always planned to do that one day.)
I just said, “I know.”

-- Dylan ThomastheoniongirlParticipantWow. I knew I was holding on when I shouldn’t be, but … I guess TV Line put paid to that.
Guys, this might sound silly, but anyone want to have a … wake of sorts … of our own? All log in at a certain point some evening this week and raise a toast?
To Neal and how it should have been.
OK. How does 10 p.m. Eastern Wednesday (April 2) strike everyone? I’m picking this at relatively random to get the ball rolling. (Just need it to be after my kids go to bed.)
