I have a theory that it’s a parasitic organism of sorts, and therefore it’s quite possible that it would significantly modify the behavior of its host to accommodate its own ends (as parasites in the real world do). If it is a parasite, the question becomes what kind? Some parasites tend to completely highjack the host’s nervous system and radically alter behavior (for example, by making the host act in a suicidal way when the parasite reaches a particular point of its developmental cycle).
I think so as well. As stated in another thread, the darkness sounds a lot like the symbiote/black goo alien thing that turns spiderman and eddie brock into Venom:

We know the darkness didn’t want a host, but to consume all the realms. Merlin was the one who attached it to a host (a human soul). In that sense, it sounds like Galactus, the world eater. Now I know OUAT probably wont be pulling any marvel stops but its an interesting thought 😛

Ya kno, I was just thinking what if the Darkness feeds off the love/goodness in a person’s heart? Rumpel had been the DO for 3 centuries and had very little of it left. Then Bae dies. So he has even left. The Darkness was almost complete and Rumpel was changing drastically.

I think Emma also said it was sucking away all the light, didn’t she? Maybe it went after the two lightest beings, Emma and Regina. Regina was using Light Magic afterall and Emma is TL so it was happy to consume them first.
But back to the question at hand: Will Rump try to off Emma? Even with his heart cleared and sanctified, people can still make CHOICES, some good and some bad. Rumpel is no sugary sweet goodie-goodie and he wont stay that way forever. So will he try to kill Emma? I can go either way at this point. My mind hops back and forth between yes and no. So I think that counts as “trying to kill” and of course it didn’t work. Which is pretty sweet.

One could say he just may have been out in another land while the curse was consuming the EF, fine, but he was most definetly there in the EF during the second one. So why not escape it?

One thing that might throw a wrench into the theory though is that Evil Grumpy said they laid a trap of dark fairy dust.
What grumpy said was: “We would have caught the bandit if Blue and her gaggle of uglies hadn’t laid a trap of dark fairy dust, paralyzing our axes” So even while Blue and her fairies are dark fae in this world, they are still opposing Snow white? So perhaps Blue and her gaggle are helping Regina. Which makes sense.

I think it was said in an interview. Basically I think the scene was probably cut. I mean, Keegan filmed for the episode, Idk why they wouldn’t include her as BF.

But seeing as how we eont see him till next, I’m not sure whether or not they even casted him. Although Sorcerer Shatner would be BOSS!!!
As for TL couples, it just seems odd that they elevate Emma to like goddess status because shes a child of TL but there are at least 3 other TL babies in town. Idk. Thinking too hard I guess. How else could he be the most powerful mage in the realms. They’ve established that TL is the most powerful magic there is. I think Merlin, like Emma, wields that magic. He probably isn’t too wholesome though.
