I think it’s just squid ink, not blood. That is why Ursula was introduced: squid ink is needed for the plot.
But Ursula has already gone and it doesn’t look like she’ll be back. Is she set to come back in any other episodes?

If ink comes from dark hearts…that could explain why Sorcerer used his hat to trap dark beings and why Chernabog devours the heart of those with the darkest heart. Its so he can use it to create ink. Now, the hole in this is that author doesn’t know why Rump wants Emmas heart dark so that may prove that ink isn’t basically dark heart juice. But still, its something to think about.

But yeah,anyway, i thought i posted this here already but isnt it possible that the advancement of technology and all that just ceased in the 1920’s era of Cruella’s world. They started out the same as every other land, cavemen, dinos, etc, but simply stopped moving forward around the 1920’s. Thats the easiest way to think about it.

– How did Cruella get to the EF?
– How does Rumpel know any of the QoD’s? I really don’t want to believe they were all his students because simply…. WHY? I can understand Rumpel teaching magic to Cora because she was a kindred spirit, he loved her, but he also knew her child would cast his curse. Which explains why he taught Regina and Zelena. But why teach Ursula? Why teach Cruella? Why Mal?
