Oh yes, i agree about the Author being able to just rewrite everything. But if it were that simple for Rump to undo whatever Regina does, then he would do just that. He would not be afraid to have Regina crush Belle’s heart right then and there because all he would have to do is poof to the Author and make him write that Regina never did it at all.
Having not seen the episode, we cant say that will or won’t happen. But judging from I know from the promos and sneak peeks, it seems it isn’t that simple as Regina is planning a road trip and no way she would do that unless she had handled Rump.And you’re acting as though Regina is doing this for Emma and the town, but she’s not. She is doing it for Robin. Not SB, Not Emma. No the Charmings. She’s doing it for herself and her love.
Robin and his son are sitting in New York with a wicked murderous witch. I think its fine if Regina is concerned with saving them just as much as protecting the town. The town where her own son is. Taking Belle’s heart kills two birds with one stone. She can make sure Rump wont try anything and she is free to leave to go deal with that witch.

Belle isn’t being hurt, she’s in no danger, rump isn’t going to do anything that will cause harm to her, Regina will not crush her heart, and by taking it Regina is stopping Rump from doin what he is doing. Now if regina were planning on killing Belle then I’d understand where you guys are coming from but I am sure Belle’s heart will be returned safe and soundly soon enough.
I know this is something everyone wont agree with and I’d love to hear other options (and im really asking for other options out of curiosity) that Regina could take in this situation. Going after Rumps dagger is a good option but not realistic because no way Rump just keeps it laying around. This is the next best sure fire thing that’ll keep him in line.

And even that is debatable among fans.
I liked s3, hated S4a, like 4b in some way, but yeah, no, OUAT isn’t one of those “Its gets better the more you watch” kind of shows.

What Regina is doing isn’t nice, I agree, but its what needs to be done. And clearly its working if she plans on going to New York. Rump must have backed off.
