Like I said, I think Hook can “feel” for Emma as well as other things because hes missing not just the memory of one person, but of his entire life (and Hook is several centuries old, guys.) It doesn’t have to just be Emma. He knows something is wrong and quite understand what it is because of the curse.
If its his mother, it will be because the show is going to focus on her more prominently than Emma because JMO booted herself out. But logically, Hook has been disconnected from his real life and feels that void there. Emma is apart of that real life.

Shouldn’t his true love and child be his concern over searching for his mother that has not even been mentioned not even once on the show? It’s weird that he would sense his mother over his family.
we don’t even know if Hook has a child first off and secondly, he can love his mother just as strongly as he does Emma for all we know.
Hook is more than his relationship to Emma. And on top of that, hook and emma have never “sensed” each other before.
I think his mother is going to be present in Hyperion somehow

They’re true love and they probably have a kid. So why does he not sense them? Was he cursed to purposely forget them completely? What if the witch that was cast is Hook’s mother, the Emma Blunt character?
The out of story reason being JMO’s departure. The in story reason, I suspect, is that while Hook IS feeling as if he’s missing that part of his life, the show will focus on this new thing which i also think might be Mama Jones. Just because he’s feeling for her doesn’t mean he isn’t for emma
