Why did Rump need someone specific to cast his curse? We’ve seen Regina do it, Pan did it, and then Snow did it. So once he figured out how to do it, why not just cast it himself? Or get some random person to cast it?
We know that the curse fits the casters needs, right. That means he could have casted it with his own purposes in mind, none of this waiting 28 years, no memory BS. When Snow casted it, they would have kept their memories if it weren’t for Zelena. And the whole town boundary thing came later after Regina added it in. So its clear Rump literally created a curse that could transport from another land to our land without any negative effects at all!!!! Why. Didn’t. He. Just. Do. They inhabit a different galaxy in a different land, one without magic. They have created technology capable of hoping through worlds, wormholes, and dimensions. They spy on every land, studying its inhabitants and creatures and find magic to be inferior and unnatural (since most lands with it aren’t as advanced as the few lands without it). They abduct humans from different worlds and study their biology against one another, trying to see if the presence of magic has any effects of humans in different worlds or not. Eventually they decide to take their studies on to a different level and for that, they would need a lot more humans. A. Lot. More. So they start abductions from every land they can find. When the humans start resisting and fighting back, the aliens stop abducting and start annihilating. They don’t care about destroying entire lands, as they understand that they live in a multiverse where there are an INFINITE amount of different worlds, so they see us as nothing more than ants. Would our Nevengera be enough to stop an alien invasion in EVERY land? Would magic beat science? agreed. It doesn’t have to be a major arc or take up even an episode. Just a few lines of dialogue.
They could actually use this, far from glossing over the idea of homophobia, to make a sort of mockery of it. “Wow, you accept all this weird crap with reanimated dragon fairy witches and magic portal beans but two guys kissing is too much? Really?” that sort of subtext could be very powerful.

Just “normal” drama that any other couple should also be able to go through regardless of whatever. Is that correct RG?

So either they need to create angst from within the couple themselves or they need to create angst externally for the couple.

“You heard me. You’ll be building snowmen in hell if you don’t hush and give Hook something sexy to say.” And so the two troll witches continued to conjure up their horrid ideas, unaware of the trouble they would soon face.

Back in Storybrook, Emma sat in Granny’s diner across from Hook, munching on a taco. Hook stared lovingly at her…. She notices.
“ummm Hook? Are you okay?” Says Emma, dumbfounded.
“Do you like those tacos, mate?” Hook raises an eyebrow and smiles. “I’m sure I could add in more beef later if you’d like ;)” Emma stares at him. “……What?”
Hook shakes his head, as if snapping out of some spell. “I’m sorry love, I don’t know why I said such a stupid thing.

If not Chernabog, I can imagine Dr. Facillier being the creator of the Dark One Curse or conversely having gotten his powers from a Dark One as some sort of deal.
