So I guess I really am one of the only few who believe that DarkHeart had genuine true feelings for eachother (even if it was negative at first) that was true and real and only ended when Cora decided to pursue a life of being queen rather than Rump. I respect that 😛 *alone on my little ship*
I agree with a lot of what has been said here, but see a lot of other things differently. I think Cora truly loved Rumpel… I think if she had decided to leave her heart inside, she would have ran off with him and who knows. She would have had his child and like she told Regina, that would have been enough :3 I think if putting her heart back inside hadn’t killed her, I think Cora could have been a worthy addition to a love triangle with RumBelle (which would be WAY more interesting than this wishy-washy Swan/Hook/Bae stuff >>) and that to see a GOOD Cora trying to prove to herself, Rumpel, and all others that she could be a hero too would have been a great story line. I am NOT saying that I want Rump to end up with Cora as a OTP. Im just saying I could understand and see why he would want to be with her.

Lol, I know that, I was using fireballs figuratively. I know how bad talking about certain ships can make the chat very tense, so instead of bringing it up there, I just made a thread for it 🙂

It would definitely get me interested in wanting to see the show

I think Rumple yearned for love, and was hopeful, but that was not true love. Each was asking for payment for passion. Rumple wanted her baby, she wanted hid Gold. It was desire and passion, not love.
Disagree. If Cora was only in it for what she could’ve got out of Rumpel, then why did she take her own heart? Why was it such a struggle for her to do so? Its because she genuinely loved him. I think the first night they met and used magic together can be seen as a night of wild passion (like a one night stand :P) but they were obviously together long enough for others to notice (King What’s-His-Face mentions that he knows about her and Rumpelstiltskin) so I think its possible they could have bonded over that time, even made snoo-snoo maybe. I just don’t think Cora was bent on using Rumpel for her own gain. She even cries when she leaves him >>

I just think the kind of power that Rump is attracted to or would be more attracted to is the kind that Cora has. I never thought of it as internal and external (which is a great way of seeing it) but I still think…. Rump has some glimmer left still for Cora… I do believe that he is a changed person than who he once was but again, Cora with a heart is a changed woman clearly. And also, lest we forget, Rumpel wasn’t exactly opposed to Lacey who was a dark version of belle and similar to a magic-less Cora. Rump was into it totally. So if were suddenly out of the picture, I think he could easily find love again in Cora.

This is the gist of my thoughts. I think that if Cora hadn’t died, she would have simply become a threat to the RumBelle ship. Perhaps or perhaps not Rumpel would have actually left Belle for her, but I don’t see why not. Cora is literally everything I would imagine someone like Rumpel would want. Even before her magic crazed evil, he genuinely cared for her and vice versa. Lets not forget the only way Cora could stop loving Rump was to tear out her own heart!
Well first I have a problem with your premise that Rumbelle have no chemistry. Chemistry is wholly subjective…. Cora and Rumple have chemistry to be sure but it’s a totally different type of chemistry. It’s the dangerous seductive “we’re evil so let’s perpetuate evil” kind of chemistry.
Me disagree. Well, no, I do agree but the thing is Rumpel has changed. If Cora had changed too (which she did briefly before her death) I think their chemistry would have synced up again but on a different level. For reasons I shall state below.
I don’t think Rumbelle/DarkHearts *ever* would have been a love triangle. Rumple loved Cora, sure. But it’s nowhere near what he feels for Belle. Not even close. Not even a little bit. Belle makes him want to be a better man; Cora makes him want to be the worst he can be.
This is the heartless Cora we have come to know. Someone who was completely gone when her heart was restored for those few seconds. The evil Cora didn’t give two craps for her own daughter. The love filled Cora said that just having Regina would have been enough for her. If she had survived, I think Cora would have worked to be a good mother for Regina, and grandmother for Henry, and she would have used her magic for good. Something Rumpel in his own way is trying to do. Be good. They would understand eachother in a way Belle does not understand Rumpel. Again, she doesn’t understand the corruption and allure of magic while Cora does. To say that Rump and Cora would not have some form of… interaction (not INTIMATE interaction) if she lived and became a good guy is cray-cray. I think Rump loves Belle, sure, but its no where near what he COULD have with Cora in the right circumstance.

The heart wants what it wants. Rumpel kissed Cora in SB! He clearly has some leftover feelings for her. And im sure Cora loved him for more than just his power. If that were the case, leaving him to become queen wouldn’t have required her to rip out her heart. She loved HIM more than the power of being queen and the only way for her to get over it was to take her feelings away.
Idk… all this really hinges on IF Cora had survived. I just think if she lived, Belle had better step up her game >>
