I actually didn’t catch that she used to be a fairy….. Wow. Okay. See this is why I need to rewatch immediately. So I’m guessing she got banished to NVL like Tink and lost her wings? Maybe NVL is like ex-fairy prison.
But yeah, I was bored with her character, personally. Not a good first impression.
EDIT: Okay so she used to be friends with the black fairy, but couldn’t prevent her from becoming evil. Okaaay then.
I swear I just don’t even…I cant keep up with this show.

– I LITERALLY brought up the fact that choosing to let Emma remain so that she can become the savior is a GOOD THING earlier in this thread: https://oncepodcast.com/forums/topic/ew-413-hot-seat/page/3/ and now, here we have Snow saying exactly my view point on it. A hero wouldn’t sacrifice the lives of others to get their own happiness. They HAD to let Emma stay in this world so that she could become the savior. Neal did the same thing. Hook said he would not. Boom bam.
– Hook cutting off his shadow was pretty neat.
– Black Fairy. Oooh how I love the villains on this show! I cant wait to see more of her.
DISLIKED:
– Magic flowers that can break the dark curse? Writers, please exit stage left and never return. K, thanks.
– Tiger Lily. Didn’t like her. She’s boring. I mean, I think its more the fault of the writers and the dialog but I really didn’t enjoy her.
– Retcon central, this episode.
– Hook is forgiven by Charming because it was in the past. That’s all folks…. Can someone remind me exactly what the purpose of all that was anyway? Seems like we went in a circle. We are right back where we started. Emma is upset anymore that he lied to her and tried to literally hide a murder from her, Charming is okay that he killed his dad…nothing came of this…

Shouldn’t the flowers have been a-blooming with, like, every villain we’ve had. Nimue and all the dark ones, or Chernabog, or the queens of darkeness, or Ingrid, Cora? The flowers just NOW decide to pop up?
Wait, I haven’t rewatched, but did the flowers just start growing in the woods or were they always there? hmmm.
Idk. I don’t like it. So many McGuffins, so much random new magic stuff. This is how you DON’T do fantasy.

Like literally everyone. But Hook being abandoned as a child was never played as a huge part of his character like it was for Emma and Neal. Did he mention it to Baelfire? I vaguely recall that (did that happen on the jolly roger when Bae was a kid and he had first met Hook?), but outside of that and being shown like 4 seasons later, Hook isn’t someone the show was really associating with “orphan” or someone who had to deal with what their parents did to them. Not like the two (original) characters who were both abandoned by their parents, sent to this world centuries apart and found each other still.
Anyway, like I said in my very long previous post: Most of what u said can be applied to more than half the people on this show.
Now, lets all put this away and enjoy tonights episode.

I disagree. He turned his ship around entirely because he was falling for Emma. He did a lot of things during that time simply to get to and remain on Emma’s good side. Pfft, he still does. The dude is in the mess he’s in now because of not wanting to be truthful to her and risk her walking away. Not about whats right, he was thinking about not sinking his ship. Also, didn’t Charming have a line about how Hook only saved him to get Emma to like him? Or was that Neal? I remember someone said it. Idk. But Hook hasn’t ever really been that noble of a person tbh, let alone in S2, to just do something “because its right” and not for Emma reasons.

Because giving up one’s home for the person they love is such a hard decision. I guess for some people it is. I said it back when he did it the first time in whatever season, but I’m not really impressed by this. That shouldn’t even be a discussion, Hook should be ready to set the Jolly Roger ablaze to save Emma without a second thought.
Yeah and I guess others start out with statutory rape followed by said guy abandoning you and screwing you over completely cause of “destiny” which traumatizes you to the point where you don’t let anybody in, in fear that they will screw you over. How romantic.
I will never understand why people keep bringing this up as a point against Neal instead of a point for him. Yeah, leaving Emma in prison is a bad thing on the surface, but in doing so he was allowing her to become the savior and save countless people. He put aside he wants and desires and love for her in order for something much bigger than either of them, and had he not countless people in SB would have suffered for the rest of eternity. Hook has said if it were him he never would have done that, but that only goes to show how selfish Hook is. He doesn’t care about other, only himself and Emma.
I’m sorry, but any logical person would have and should have done with Neal did.
He didn’t know she was pregnant, he didn’t know he was leaving behind a child. He was letting go of Emma to allow her to become a hero. Why is that a bad thing????
And if leaving her in jail is somehow the reason Neal and Emma cant be together *clears throat* HOOK TRIED TO KILL EMMA AND HER ENTIRE FAMILY LESS THAN A YEAR AGO. I know no one is perfect, but sheesh.
And also, please. This is a fantasy show. I can walk up and down the aisle of Barnes and Noble and pick up dozens of books featuring “16 year old girl falls for 100 year old supernatural being”. Emma was 17, and I’m not saying in real life that is acceptable, its a show.

Who doesn’t have family/parental issues on this show? I think literally everyone has mommy and/or daddy issues on this show…..

6. The many times the writers, JMO, and Colin have stated they were Kindred Spirits
As opposed to the times the writers said Hook wasn’t father material for Henry, or that Emma wouldn’t look at him and see a mate, or the times the writers and actors and actresses spoke positively about Neal/Emma?
Those are all pretty horoscope-ish parallels that can apply to most characters on the show as well as most people.
I mean I can continue with this all day but the parallels are there with Hook and Emma as well.
I’m sure there are, like POM said, we can find parallels for any and everyone if we look hard enough.

No show has the two romantic leads instantly get together and stay together and remain. It takes time. For some shows it takes the entire run of the series only to have them get together at the very end. I expected Emma and Neal to be that way. They may go through whatever trials and tribulations,it wasn’t going to be a simple walk in the park. But by the end they’d be driving that yellow bug through SB, their son in the backseat, the heroes of a brand new original fairytale all their own. What a shame.
The show just stuck Emma with hook to appease fans. The CS fandom has always been very vocal so I’m sure the execs overestimated how much people wanted to see them be endgame. I believe they would always have given them something together (love triangles and all that) but I would have put my money on Hook/Regina during season 2.

He didn’t get his heart snatched until he was 28.
But I’m more concerned that now we are back at step one with Gideon. He gave a whole thing about how he wants to save all those kids and how he has to defeat black fairy because he promised to save them and all that but now we know that’s not true. She’s been controlling him the whole time.
