So….yeah, I’m sure hes in no rush to ruin the mood by telling her he killed her grandpop.
Has he even said anything about telling Charming he killed his father? It seems hes only interested in how its gonna effect him and Emma’s relationship. Emma doesn’t even know the guy who was killed. It Charming’s dad. I’d be much more pressed about Charming’s feelings.
Especially if he and Charming consider each other friends.
I feel I could have so much more respect for Hook but…..nope.

It was the way she said: “Using that sword wont make you a savior in the way you think” or something like that.
That sword probably has some plot twisty magic attached to it. If anyone has the real quote feel free to post it.

Is that a thing? I know it did with the Dark Ones, but I don’t remember it doing so with others. Unless you all are just saying that power is addictive and I agree.
My thing, as I said in the SF thread, is less that he wanted to kill Beowolf and went through with it (I personally probably would have done it, but I’m a terrible person.) but that he feels no remorse and is almost diving head in, wanting to harm the bakers son, and basking in the power. That doesn’t seem like Bae at all.
I would have much rather preferred this to be the moment he gets a taste of dark magic, of what the power means, and that is what also helps to push him away from it. Once he calms down from the heat of the moment he takes a moment and realizes what he has done, what he has caused his father to do, what that dagger can cause him to do, and that really just pushes him away further in the “magic is bad” state of mind. This COULD have been done really well, and it was just a huge what the fudge moment.

See what I thought was going to happen was: Bae was going to get the dagger and cause Rumpel to change Beowolf into an actual monster. Ya know, the whole outter beauty fits the inner ugliness thing. It would have been appropriate since beauty and the beast just came out, and Grendel is a real established character in WL, so it could have worked if someone they managed to weave these things together (Beowolf pretending to be a monster named Grendel really becomes a monster named Grendel).
But holy kelp cakes, they have him kill the guy? What…..are the writers….even….how do they rationalize? And then whats worse is that he feels no remorse over it, hes enjoying it. Hes justifying it.
I would have understood if Bae was forced to do it because Beo was attacking him, I would have understood if he did it and then realized how bad dark magic is and that only pushes him further away from it. But…I don’t know. I cant even right now. This is one of those many moments where you can tell the writers didn’t plan something in advance and just pulled it out of their hats to move the story along.

I haven’t seen all of it yet, but I’m not too impressed with what I have seen.
– I’m a little underwhelmed with Belle’s dress. Should have been way more extravagant in my opinion. Cinderella’s gown was gorgeous. Belle’s dress is so downplayed. I figured they would have a different dress in the end for the final dance, but even that one was so bland and didn’t stand out against all the other ones.
– Emma Watson should not have been casted as Belle.
– Audra McDonald is life.
– I loved some of the songs. The new song Days In The Sun is beautiful.
– Why is this movie so dark? Not in terms of tone, but in like actual looks.
– A lot of unrequeired scenes. I felt the same about the original, a good half hour could be shaved off this movie because a lot of it feels like filler.
But that’s just my general impression, I haven’t watched all of it yet.
Unrelated but I found this pic online. I wish Belle’s dress had been similar. I know its a photoshopped version of Cinderellas dress but gosh does it look spectacular.

I honestly don’t know what it will be. What could possibly be shocking new information that will change how we see Rump? I thought this point of his life was pretty straightforward. Hes become the dark one to save Bae from going to the Ogres War. Is there some hidden element?? I just don’t get it
