Anyone wanna place a bet: original songs or Disney songs?

I’m going for original songs with references to Disney songs. Like how in Enchanted the beginning of “How Does She Know” has the Jamaican guy and the drums which were a shout out to Sebastian and the scene of her and what’s-his-face on the boat was also a little mermaid reference.

I think the songs will be new but will have certain familiar things in them from the Disney movies. Having them sing Disney songs would be….weird…

Exactly. I am curious as to what part he is going to play. Will it be related to Page 23? Will they need him to maybe retcon some event and write the wish world out of existence? Is it too much to hope for more Author mythology….cause I wonder if we might actually see Walt Disney as the author…building his empire from foretelling the future stories to come….becoming a multi-billionaire off the lives and suffering of others….. Wow, Walt was kind of selfish when you think about it.

Anyway, author coming back just adds in to that “tying up loose ends” vibe.

The Proclaimers’ “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” would be a great reconciliation song for Rumpel and Belle.

And my feels just poured in because I was just reminded of that great song this Oncer wrote and sang for Rumbelle called “Deal”. Sadly, I don’t think it really applies to their relationship anymore, but gawd is it good. I’ve posted it here ages ago but in case anyone wants to see it:

I’ve accepted Neal is gone. I’ve accepted they basically rebooted Rumple’s character. I’ve accepted they have retconned more than I would have liked.

I think a lot of us here have accepted these things as well, but that does not mean we have to like it or pretend as if we don’t have complaints about the direction of the story or characters. The ones you named earlier are views shared by many in the fandom.

Some people just can’t let things go and it seems it’s affecting their current view of the show in such a way that they can’t seem to find anything positive with it anymore

I agree to a certain extent. But at the same time, it seems others have this view that any person who has something negative to say about the show or certain characters must just be blindly bitter that Neal died seasons ago, and not, ya know, just genuinely displeased with the show.

Not everyone has to agree. This is a forum after all. Perhaps some don’t say anything positive because they don’t have any positive opinions about the show? Why they continue to watch can be for any number of reasons (I’m still here for Regina, to see what other characters will pop up, get some answers to unanswered questions, and because I don’t like to abandon shows no matter how bad they get *cough* True Blood *cough*. I’m here because I love magic, love Disney, and love fairytales and despite it all, I want to see how this tale ends). I don’t think its fair to really assume that those who dislike stuff about the show are only doing it because they are upset the ship they wanted didn’t sail.

Probably wont happen but I think we are all assuming the songs will happen in present day. What if the whole singing thing is something that happened in the past due to some magical wishy washy in the FTL. I can buy that. However I don’t think it will happen because that means we’d probably only get songs from Snow, Charming, Rump, and Regina whereas as doing it in present day means we’d get the whole set with Emma, Hook, Henry, and others added in. But just a thought. I’d love to see Dark One Rumpel singing as opposed to Gold for some reason. I’ve never seen Labyrinth but I recall them saying he was based on David Bowie’s character, right

Anyway, I think giving Zelena a child just over-complicated things. It wasn’t necessary, but now that she has one I think she’s a safe surviver until the end and I don’t think she will become evil again. She is really underused in such a regina centric plot where she  could be playing a much larger role. But we have a whole season half left so perhaps she will. I don’t think any of the new mommies are going to bite the dust (Snow, Belle, Zelena)

Some Big Bad comes to town and curses them all to burst into song

If they incorporate Giselle from Enchanted, that would explain it. Her presence in the “real world” caused everyone around her, including animals, to sing and dance. So I could buyt that. It goes with Once’s world hopping multiverse thing too.

But I’m sure it will be some magic mumbo jumbo. Belle makes a wish that she wishes she could know Rumpel’s true heart/feelings and now that entire town is singing their wants and desires. A slight rip off of Buffy? Sure. But eh. Or maybe its a talent show and SB wants to take a break from all the danger and get into that.

I don’t think it will be great. But its something new.
