Yeah it is a complicated idea, but yours is it too, because when Neal is Peter Pan. What was his reason to go back to our land? Why he come to our world to be a common thief and not live with the lost boys in Neverland, to hunt Pirates.
Would it not more a Peter Pan to seek adventure on a boat to laugh, tell stories and make a sword fight. He has much in common with Emma and he look so kind, when he spoke about the lost boys.But of course please do not hesitate try to convince me. I love to speculate and maybe I will change my mind. I know there are lots of hints for Peter Pan. The line in New York which reference to PP and the clues you wrote about his name and lots more, but when you wrote about the wherabouts of Neal in New York. I found a Alice Tea Shop, and since then Neal is the White Rabbit for me.
Maybe I will change my mind. It will depend on the content of the box. Is it a heart, he is the White Rabbit, cause the heart refers to Wonderland, but is it a really angry tinkerbell, who is glowing red, like in the movie of Peter Pan. It could be that I change my mind.

Hook goes to Neverland to not age again, because he needed a weapon to kill the Dark one for revenge. He knew already that he would not age there, that could mean that he was doing that before. So this is a hint that he could be Peter Pan, because he want to stop aging.
It would be no problem to give him a backstory a s Peter, when he was a child.

I love the theory that he is the White Rabbit. When he was younger ( 16 or 17). He tried to get back to the enchanted forest and found a way to Wonderland, where he found the queen of hearts. I think thst he knows already everything rip hearts out, cause he seen it already by his dead. To survive the queen, he became a servant and found Jeffererson, who toldhim stories of the dark One, without knowing about Baelfire. He told him how Rumple try to create a monster, to get a curse work that will destroy many lives, because than they have to go to a land without magic and without happy endings. But Jeff added that propably it is not possibile, because the Dark One tries this since 300 years and still it doesn’t work.
I thought that Neal maybe introduced Jefferson even to Alice (she followed Neal, because they were in the same forster system). Jefferson and Alice fell in love, but Neal told Jefferson, as long he needs magic, there will be no happy ending for them. The three of them get the chance to runaway from the queen through a portal, but Bealfire didn’t get with them and goes back to our world. Knowing that his father is lost, and there is no place for him in the enchanted forest or in our world and get lost to. Only trying to survive and have a little fun.Years later his stolen car get stolen from Emma…
And August show him a enchanted heart and he know that he has the responsibility to stop the curse and let Emma go.Heros don't get their Happy Ending!
Some people think he could be the White Rabbit or somebody else, but nothing is in the moment definitely. So please if you have another idea. Share it with us, maybe in the end you will be right.

The magic work in other way, so maybe Blue has to activate her magic first (like Regina), before she can go to her power again, lika a car, where the battery is empty.

I have seen something with the cape of Prince charming. He wears the cape in ep 1×04, when they catch Rumpelstiltskin, but in ep 1×16, when he is searching for Snow White (and that is earlier) he gives this cape to Rumple to get the map. (Ok, I could be that he like the style and made a new one, that look similiar)

But also if he was Bae I could not think that he would tell anybody of the blade knowingly, despite he know that Rumpel killed his Mother and if that were the case he would join Killian to face his father,I think that Hook will be Peter Pan like Maiqu20.
I doubt that Jefferson know about the knife, because he still breathing, so for me the only one who could have this Info is the Blue Fairy. She knows about the Dark One. and told in season 1 that the power is not from the enchanted forest – if thats the case – she could give Hook a hint trough Tinkerbell, that there is something that can stop him, because it was all really short before the curse. Blue didn’t tell Killian about the knife (maybe she don’t know it). So Blue thought that when Belle could be reunited with Rumpel.
