Favorites: Ruby and Whale’s monster-to-monster conversation was a good exploration of what their characters have in common.. The scenes between Regina and Cora – the performance by Lana and Barbara was great. The whole look of the black and white sequences was impressive.
Least Favorite: Emma’s interrogation of Greg. I expected Emma’s experience would make her a little smoother.

Gypsy actual dug that up but what I can tell you is that KFL means Kips (kilopounds) per Lineal Foot thus 2kfl. Best I can do as math/science was never my forte 🙂
OK, thanks. I can’t imagine how that unit might be significant but it’s always fun to engage in wild speculation. Another off-the wall idea that occurred to me was that “2KFL” could stand for “2000 Florida” – a reference to the 2000 U.S. presidential election. But I think we can safely dismiss that possibility since the character’s name turned out to be Greg and not Chad! 😀
Seriously, I’m beginning to doubt the license plate may hold any significance, except to emphasise that he is from out of state. But picking a name as famous as Greg(or) Mendel can’t be a coincidence. I suspect he’s going to wind up getting involved in Dr. Whale’s story somehow.
timespacerParticipantEarly on, I assumed Regina would probably die at the end of the series, possibly sacrificing her life to save Henry, or to save Emma for Henry’s sake, and that would be her redemption. Now, I’m not so sure. Although I think Cora’s speed bump on Regina’s Rushed Road to Redemption will delay and complicate the process, I think Regina will eventually reform, after a bit of backsliding takes her even lower than she is now. That could mean she eventually reaches a point where she is willing to share Henry with Emma. After all, divorced parents manage to share custody of children in the real world so there could still be a happy ending if Henry has two moms who both love him and agree to let the other be in his life, instead of trying to tear him apart while fighting over him. But now I’m worried about Rumple because I have this feeling that it won’t be possible for both Rumple and Regina to reform and get a happy ending. I just suspect one or the other may wind up sacrificing themselves in the end in order to achieve redemption.
timespacerParticipantGood catch! Until now, I had just been assuming that the Fairy Tale Lands were just different worlds that were somehow like ours, so I assumed Mulan (in the show) was not literally from China like the legend in our world but from a “China-like” land in the Fairy Tale world and Snow and Charming were from a “Europe-like” land, etc. But this document in German makes it pretty clear that we are in fact dealing with parallel worlds. So we actually have other worlds where the characters really are from China, Europe, Transylvania, and so forth but, as you say, not identical to the lands in our world.
I think Henry’s observation in “In the Name of the Brother” that Frankenstein is not in his book of fairy tales may prove to be significant as regards the nature of these other worlds. So how did our imaginative tales of Frankenstein, Snow White, and all the others arise in the imaginations of authors in our world? It’s starting to sound a lot like Neal Stephenson’s novel, Anathem, in which quantum interference between consciousness in different universes gives rise to inspiration.

He could also be a Jekyll/Hyde. We are talking about genetics. 2KFL is a mathematical equation and in the first edition of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde there were 138 pages.
Several people have mentioned 2KFL being an equation but I still don’t understand. What equation is it supposed to be a part of? I don’t recognize it. And I’m eager to know!
timespacerParticipantI found a link to this from one of the other podcast sites. A cooking show we have all wanted to see, Cooking With The Evil Queen.

Earlier today, I was thinking of Frankenstein and scienence, so I did a bit of math. (Not my strong suit so correct me if I did a mistake in the equation)
If you take the Letters K and FL as their respective elements in the periodic table, you get Kalium (19) and Flerovium (114). Add them together and you get 133. Now taking the rest of the licencse plate into account it looks somewhat like that:2×133+138= 404
404, is a dead link.
Could it be that the driver of that car was someone who was thought lost by his brother (a dead link to the past) or maybe even resurected. Pennsylvania might have been choosen because ouf the resamblance to Transylvania.
Wow! Great insight. I would never have spotted this, but I wouldn’t put it past these writers to come up with something so intricate. One minor addition that doesn’t change any of Chris’ argument: element 19 is potassium in English ( kalium is the Latin name).

It’s definitely not a LOST nod 🙂
I do know that 2KFL is part of a mathematic equation for fractions.
Which equation is it part of? I don’t recognize it.
timespacerParticipantI haven’t had any trouble since Sunday, but I’ve only been on line a little.
timespacerParticipantI agree – I think she is just from a “China-like” realm in Fairy Tale Land, in the same way Snow and Charming are from a “medieval Europe-like” land, but not from any particular European country in our world. They have mixed tales from many lands and times. Speaking of anachronisms, did anybody else notice that in the midst of the medieval-like setting in “The Outsider” that some of the people were wearing 18th century style hats and one was wearing a 19th century style tophat?
