I know!!! That’s what is going to make the reunions so good. Can you imagine the big reveal between MRJ and Robert? The talent alone will set our screens on FIRE!! (maybe I shouldn’t watch that epp on my computer then… ๐ ๐ )
Expecially given the point i made here: https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=1933&start=10
Sorry, the post was too long to retype and would seem slightly out of place if i copied and pasted.
But yeah, those two have a world of issues to work out…
ITA. Seriously, I was expecting a lot from yesterday’s episode, but it exceeded all my expectations.
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: Michael Raymond-James was out of this world last night. He could portray so many different emotions in the fewer than 20 minutes he was on screen – I was breathless. From all the swagger in the first scenes, to his genuine happiness and care when he was with Emma later on, to his intensity while making plans in the “All I really want is you” scene, to his sadness and tears when he finds out he’ll have to let go of Emma, and finally, his reaction to finding out Emma had been arrested – when August says “she took 11 months”, you can actually see him flying off the handle, with his “It should have been me“.
I mean… THIS, all of this intensity PLUS Robert Carlyle and their super-complicated storyline?
A dream come true. As simple as that.
(BTW, LOVED your post on the other thread. Bravo to all!)

ParticipantOh, Faux Pax, all the feels! ๐ฅ
And his voice and that look in his eyes when he says “It catches nightmares? We should keep it.”
MRJ is SUCH a BRILLIANT actor. He broke my heart a million times last night. ๐ฅ

ParticipantPhee, I really loved your theory about The Blue Fairy and August working together. I couldn’t help but think of the following conversation that could take place after Pino reported to TBF that Emma was getting cozy with a certain “Neal Cassady”. Please bear with me here! ๐
– Mother Superior.
– Can you talk?*looks around and lowers her voice*
– Yes. Any news?
– I did as you told me to.
– And?
– Nothing.
– What do you mean?
– Nothing. He has no record in the foster system.
– Names?
– No names. At least not real ones. But he has a long career in crime, it seems. Nothing serious though. Petty theft, shoplifting , traffic violation…
– Do you have his first record?
– I do. Charged with loitering.
– Read it for me.
– “Failed to provide any sort of identification when approached by police officer. Seemed disoriented and possibly intoxicated, although no illegal substance was found under his possession. Was wearing odd-looking clothes, including an olive hooded sweater and boots. Apparently 15 or 16 years old. Kept muttering something about a fire and his father, b–“
– Thanks, August.*a moment of silence*
– I need a moment. Can I get back to you?
– Sure. I’ll be waiting. As Mother Superior put down the phone, she felt a flutter in the pit of her stomach. Opening a drawer with trembling fingers, she searched for a specific parchment among the piles of paper inside. Pulling it out, she unfolded a gigantic map with a mass of forms representing different Realms, and little dots scattered all around them. If only magic worked in Storybrooke, she would be able to know exactly where that specific dot was, but tracking down magic beans in the absence of magic was, as the idle map proved, absolutely impossible.
She folded the map, her mind wandering. That boy had lost so much. Truth, he had managed to get to a land with no magic, but alone. All by himself all those years. And now he was not alone anymore, he had found Emma…
Mother Superior pondered: perhaps it was his chance to return home? Perhaps he was looking forward to it? Perhaps… and only perhaps… he would be willing to forgive his father, to forgive her for everything that had gone so awfully wrong?
She tried to swallow the lump in her throat. But what if he weren’t? What if the only thing he wanted was to… forget it all and start afresh?
With Emma.
In a land with no magic.
As she stood up, the Blue Fairy felt her limbs go numb. Those feelings… she had to get past them. She could no longer feel sorry, because she knew it was her job to do whatever it took to bring the curse to an end.
It was, after all, for the greater good.
As she picked the phone and dialed, she tried not to think of anything else but that.
– August?
– I’m hearing.
– You have to send him away. No matter what.
– But—
– Just do as I say. I will send you instructions through mail, and you will have to do exactly what I tell you to.*silence*
– OK.
As she put down the phone, she reached out for a piece of paper, staring at it for a while. Perhaps a certain drawing would do.

I think it may have been a picture of the dagger, but it could be a fairy or a shadow. Whatever it was, it convinced me that Neal is Bae. Emma took her son being poisoned to make her believe. Neal just looked into a box to make him believe. He looked more resigned than shocked at whatever he saw. Emma was freaked out. So that makes me really think he is Bae.
I saw a lot of hurt in his eyes. It was almost as if whatever he saw brought back really bad memories. That’s why I’m also inclined to believe it is the picture of the dagger, He must have assumed the curse August was talking about had been cast by his father, and so it was his duty to set things straight.

I loved the Neal/Emma relationship but i really hated how douchie Augest turned out to be and how easily Neal with along with him.
A big yes to this. Although it makes sense if Bae is Neal not to fight because to him he was doing the noble thing, which is such a Bae thing to do. Plus, he’s so use to everyone abandoning him sooner or later, in the back of his mind, he probably thought what he had with Emma was too good to be true and something would happen to rip them apart.
Not to mention that if it was the picture of the dagger that August showed him, he might have felt that it was his father doing, and therefore he should do the right thing to stop all that insanity (that, in his mind, his father had provoked).
Favorite moment: Neal and Emma making plans for the future. ๐ฅ
Least favorite moment: Hard to tell… I was so concentrated on Neal/Emma/August I might have zoned out during the “boring” parts – if there was one.

ParticipantGuys, it’s almost 2 in the morning here in my town, and I really need to get some sleep.
BUT I couldn’t do that before dropping by to say:
YAY! *group hug*
Highlights:
1) Neal’s dreamcatcher
2) Neal’s closing his eyes (so much hurt) when he realized the curse was for reals and he would have to let Emma go because —> pure speculation from now on, bear with me!
> his dad had done something awful (I take it that August showed him the picture of the Dark One’s dagger)
3) He loves her. She loves him. ๐ฅ
4) He doesn’t know about Henry. If he turns out to be Bae, then poor guy is likely to have a heart attack when he gets to SB?“So, who is that talking to my father? My stepmother? Oh, I see. And the guy yelling at him? My father-in-law? What the–? Ok, nevermind, what about the kid?” —-> “My WHAT?” *drops dead*
ETA: Lil’Red: I LOVE YOUR SHELDON GIF! That was me during most of this episode! ๐

In case it’s in the wrong place I plead the administrators to shift it.
But, well, there is a little paragraph that could either lead to more speculation or to confirmation. Just in case some of you have missed it. ๐TVGuide: Once Upon A Timeโs Trip To The Past Helps With Emmaโs Giant Predicament
During Onceโs trip to her past, weโll meet a fellow thief who wants to make an honest woman out of her. It turns out, said thief is Neal Cassady (Michael Raymond-James), the mystery man we saw in the Season 2 premiere outside of Storybrooke. โThey were definitely kindred spirits,โ Morrison says. โThere was a reason that she was so drawn to him and him to her. They had to survive to make life OK. Thereโs an interesting parallel for them that they both are on their own in this world and have had to find inventive ways to make life OK.โ
I mean, what do you think about the bolded part? Is Jen giving something away? I think so, wink. ๐
*impending heart attack*
OH GODS! They were kindred spirits? What do you mean, were? Were, as in, past tense? What the heck happened between you two, after all?
*reads article again and dies*
*drags herself to the keyboard to type her final words*
Neal Cassady is Bae. Has. To. Be.

ParticipantHmmm, guys… I know I might be pushing it a little too far, but since I’m obsessed with MRJ being Emma’s one true love, it just occurred to me that Emma’s parents love story started with… well… Snow robbing Charming, and look where it got them.
Perhaps it runs in the family? ๐
