Present day Storybrooke. Then find the Apprentice and Hook recognizes him as the guy he helped Gold suck into the hat.

Emma’a intent was to harm. Also, I don’t agree that Cruella’s death can be completely placed entirely on saving Henry slash defeating the dangerous villain. Yes, that was certainly a part of her motivation to send Cruella flying, however; a large part was also something Cruella said to her. Cruella starts off by threatening Henry’s life, but it isn’t until she starts taunting Emma about being the Savior that Emma finally snaps and tosses her.
If you’ll all recall Emma’s speech to Cinderella in the first season: “People are gonna tell you who you are your whole life. You just gotta punch back and say, “No, this is who I am”. You want people to look at you differently? Make them! You want to change things, you’re gonna have to go out there and change them yourself, because there are no fairy godmothers in this world.”
Basically Emma’s motto through life prior to season one had been: You have to be your own Savior, because the world sucks and will try to put you down. Emma’s whole identity as “the Savior” goes against everything that she’s ever believed. Understandable she’s was very reluctant to embrace the title in the first few seasons. And then when she finally started to believe at the end of last season she absolutely flopped at defeating Zelena.
Fast forward to this season with her haphazard control of magic in 4A and the revelation that her parents effectively changed her entire identity because they were afraid that she might be evil. Emma’s super pissed right now, and at least some of that bled into her decision to launch Cruella like a rag doll.
What I’m most interested in now, is how Emma reacts to the experience. Will she bury her feelings, will she feel guilty, or will she embrace the power and control. My guess is she’ll initially run from her feelings, but eventually it will hit her and she will feel guilty.
truidiaParticipantI think the enduring message of this show is one of hope. Hope in a better life. Hope in a happy ending. Hope that the universe will have your back. And all that hope stems from the idea that when you do good things, when you don’t put yourself first, that things will work out for you.
So in my opinion, it shouldn’t matter what a character has done in the past. It shouldn’t matter if they have fallen to their knees and apologized to all who they have wronged. It shouldn’t matter if they are snarky, or just plain mean. Because if that character can rise above their past evil’s and ignore that little voice in the head that is telling them to put themselves first, well then they have as much a right to a happy ending as anyone else.
truidiaParticipantBut why would that be? Snow and Charming broke a sleeping curse in our world.
truidiaParticipantLadies:
Bed: Ruby. I don’t really think I need to explain myself.
Wed: Regina. She loves with her entire being and lasagna is win (Granny’s is frozen, and is therefore disqualified).
Behead: Blue Fairy. So shady.Gents:
Bed: Graham. Sexy times.
Wed: Billy. RIP.
Behead: King George.truidiaParticipant4) Illogical choices made by characters
5) Clunky writing and dialogue
6) Truly terrible life advice like, “true love is worth ruining your life over”
7) Potential retcon of Will Scarlet and his timeline.
1) I keep associating the Marian/Robin/Regina triangle with the film Castaway. Tom Hanks’ plane crashes and he’s missing for years. His fiancee mourns his death, but ultimately moves on, get’s married, and has a child. Obviously not a perfect example because Regina and Robin apparently fell in love after two or three kissing sessions (for real?), but if we accept that he has fallen in love with her, then in my eye’s he does more harm than good by staying with a women he no longer loves. I’m sure others will disagree with me, which is cool. To each their own. This seems to be a hot button issue for a lot of people based on some ideological difference of opinion i.e., sanctity of marriage vs following your heart.
2) So I don’t necessarily this Snow is inconstantly written. She has been notoriously oblivious to Emma’s feelings, re: cave of secrets and her decision to stay with poisoned David on Neverland without a single thought to who Emma would feel about it. She really does have a bad case of foot and mouth disease when it comes to Emma. Remember their first scene ever in the pilot? “He’s like any adopted child. He wrestles with that most basic question they all inevitably face: why would anyone give me away?” Said Snow White, to the woman who gave Henry up. Oops.
3) Rumple is on a backslide right now. To him, power (not magic) is his addiction, probably because he had so little of it during the pre-dark one portion of his life. He spent two hundred (or so) years building up that power, and has resisted giving it up multiple times, 1) Baelfire down the bean hole 2) True Loves Kiss with Belle 3) bringing magic to Storybrooke, and 4) Fake dagger fiasco. The hat is the ultimate temptation. It’s his JW Blue Label. I don’t think he really wants to take over the world, however; I think he loves the idea that he could, if he ever needed to.
6) Was that a quote from the episode? I feel like that’s an opinion not an actual quote.
truidiaParticipantCan we now assume Hook has been reunited with his lost hand? My guess is Rumple restored it.
truidiaParticipantOh I agree with that. I think this whole story line is the writers way of having Regina face her ugly past. Yeah she’s got light magic, but she can’t just flip a switch a be on team Charming. She’s hurt a lot of people, and while Snow has forgiven and encouraged her, a lot of people have not and probably never will. Regina’s shrugged that off because, whatever, peasants. But now she cares about Robin and to know she was responsible for causing him so much pain; that’s going to be quite the rude awakening.
I’m intrigued to see how this plays out. If Regina is capable of feeling guilt for all she’s done, this would be the time for it. I honestly think this will be the start of her redemption arch. Everything up until this point has been about protecting Henry/Snow, or a personal grudge, Zelena. Now I want to see her make the choice to be a hero for herself. Because she wants to atone.
I’m also hoping that the writers will tackle some of the class inequality issues of the Enchanted Forest. Like Regina shrugging off murdering peasants. They touched it a little bit with George and his murder of Billy (“He was just a mouse”). Storybrooke really levels the playing field in terms of human rights and freedoms. I would love to see a mayoral election where an unnamed peasant wins because the citizens of Storybrooke are tired of the ruling class and they like the politics of this world better.
truidiaParticipantRobin would have thought Marian’s death was on him, and said nothing else of it, and OutlawQueen would be in “Problem Free/Always Adventurous Zone”.
I believe Lana confirmed that Regina did know she killed Robin’s wife (before Emma went back in time). So I highly doubt Robin would have forgiven her for murdering his wife & the mother of his only child, had he found out & tbh it would make Regina seem like she hadnt really changed all that much if she didnt confess to him it was HER fault Marian was dead- after all if you truly love someone you dont just let them go on believing they are responsible for the death of their loved one, when you know full well they are not- esp if it was you that did the killing! :/
I agree that now in the altered timeline, Regina never murdered Marian, so she doesnt have the actual memory of murdering her, only of locking her up with intention of murdering her- Both Marian & Emma know that EQ was going to murder her, so for them it is still “reality”. In fact bringing her to the future may have given OQ a chance it may not have otherwise had when the truth came out- Forgiving someone for locking your wife up is one thing, forgiving them for murdering her is another Which is why, as much as I LOVE OQ, I also agree with much of POM post too (although it was VERY refreshing to see one couple happily in love for a change lol ).
Actually Lana said that Lana knew about it, and used that information to fuel her scenes with Robin. Regina didn’t know.
truidiaParticipantHooks Girl: He put them under the disguisy spell just before the ball. Hook still looked like Hook when he hired Snow to steal the ring, otherwise Smee wouldn’t have recognized him with his changing vests.
PLOT HOLE!!!
