By that logic, Regina will always be the Evil Queen. Everyone always calls her that. The promo photos label her as such. Yet she keeps acting the opposite, ex. Saving Roland, giving Emma and Henry a beautiful life together, protecting Snow White and the baby, the list goes on.
Re: Emma using the sword.
Perhaps Zelena did manage to take/neutralize Emma’s magic via Hooks lip curse or some other means.
[adrotate group="5"]truidiaParticipantThe show doesn’t call her “the savior” the characters do. Characters are flawed and make assumptions.
truidiaParticipantI’m sorry but where in my post did I say Regina was the most powerful. Until we’ve met every single practitioner of magic in all the realms, that claim is silly.
I agree that it’s been beaten over our heads that true love magic is the most powerful. If Regina keeps training Emma, I truly believe she will surpass Regina’s abilities pretty quickly. To me Regina is more of a scrapper. Born with magic, but not the most talented. Her success in wielding came from hard work. That gives her precision and control over the abilities that she has. Emma on the other hand, is a big ball of power without any focus. Capable of quite a bit if she concentrates, but also is probably very dangerous if she doesn’t.
truidiaParticipantAlso why do people keep throwing around “Savior” as justification that Emma should be able to solve everything. Her magic was woven into the original dark curse, which was broken. Broken. Meaning her role of “Savior” has been fulfilled. When that happened she just became another member of team Hero.
Her entire arch this season has been about her desire to not be the answer to the latest evil; the hero of the masses. She just wanted a break to live an ordinary life with her son. And yet the audience cries foul when Emma isn’t continuously forced into saving the day. She should want to be a hero, not do it because it was written somewhere on a parchment in Rumples cell. My guess is that now that she’s gotten a taste of what it’s like to be on the sidelines, this battle will become the impetus for her to stay, not because she has to, but because she wants to learn more magic and become her own style of hero, one of her own choosing.
truidiaParticipantEmma is not the most powerful sorceress alive. Just because you are born with the raw talent to throw a 110 mph fastball does not mean you can hit the strike zone on your third attempt at getting it over home plate. I will concede that she certainly has the most potential.
truidiaParticipantTo all those saying that it should of been Emma, I think your missing the fact that Emma’s character this half season has not acted particularly saviory. She (awesomely – because character depth) made some very selfish choices regarding bringing Henry’s memories back. Last episode she couldn’t even see the storybook. That was clear foreshadowing to Emma not being the one to solve this. Yes her magic is light, but she had not fully committed to staying in this zany fairy tale world.
April 14, 2014 at 5:26 pm in reply to: ONCE UPON A TIME RATING — links and discussions related to ratings. #261442truidiaParticipantABC finished in a near tie for #1 on Sunday with a Masters Golf Tournament overrun-boosted CBS in Adults 18-49 (1.6/5 vs. 1.7/5), beating Fox by 23% (1.3/4) and NBC by 78% (0.9/3).
The Masters is not on Broadcast and not direct competition for ONCE.
The Masters was on broadcast (CBS) but ended at 7:15pm est. I don’t know if their post coverage ran into 60 minutes or not. I doubt it played much of a factor though. Ratings were down across the board last night probably because it was the first nice weekend for a lot of the country so people were probably out remembering what the sun is all and what not.
truidiaParticipantSo if you look at the photo that came out yesterday of just Lana and Jared together in front of Granny’s, you can see that Henry is holding something in his right hand. When you zoom in (sorry I don’t have a picture) it looks like he’s holding Jiminy Cricket, or more likely a small plastic version of him. If I have my spoilers correct, this is just after Emma storms off having yelled something like, “I’m your mother and I know best.”
I’m starting to wonder if perhaps Emma is the only one of the two of them who actually recovers their memories. And Henry’s story line for the back 11 episodes is him trying to recover what he’s lost. My guess is that no one will tell him because of Regina’s sacrifice. If Henry discovers what Regina gave up to save him and end the curse, then perhaps that sacrifice becomes null and void, meaning the original curse (or Pan’s curse) comes back into effect.
Some support for this: We haven’t seen many pics of Regina and Henry together up until this point, at episode 18 or so. Also in a few other photos with Jared and Colin, Hook always has his fake hand instead of his hook. And from that spoiler I mentioned above, Regina is present for Emma’s outburst. but says nothing.
This could all be setting up the end of the season where they parallel breaking the first curse (Emma kissing Henry) with Henry discovering that Regina was his mom for ten years and then having him save her from some curse she’s been placed under (by the Wicked witch perhaps).
truidiaParticipantSo in the picture with just Regina and Henry, it kind of looks like Henry is holding a Jiminy sized cricket. Maybe a plastic model.
truidiaParticipantFrom the better quality promo it looks like Regina is leading the group on a trip to her castle (probably since Snow and David’s was destroyed by the curse) only to encounter a magical barrier.
