Good point. Pinocchio is not supposed to be good. His character was known to stray off the path. 🙂 Plus, out of Regina, Rumpelstiltskin, and himself, he is still more deserving of redemption. He never killed, raped, tortured, or manipulated anyone. 🙂
Well, don’t know about the manipulation part 😉

The island is also known as Pleasure Island. 🙂 And I thought it was already clear from how he looks at the money–it was another temptation that he could not say no to. Also, I don’t think the writers are just dumping on August/Pinocchio–they have showed Rumpelstiltskin in a pretty bad light with how he molded Regina and killed his own wife. 🙂
And yet, people stick up for Rumpel for that. Why not August? He didn’t ask to be thrown into the enchanted wardrobe and to be a guardian angel for some person. He didn’t ask for a curse that broke up his happy family. He’s lived a life just as alone, probably even more than Emma’s.
Even then if he did steal the money, it still worked out alright in the end for Emma. She knows her son, her mom, her dad. She is saving Storybrooke. He’s helping her and Henry when they need it, and when he can, but it’s hard to help your friends when your body is going into stasis.
I also want to know why he knows so much about Bae too. I don’t know why, but I keep seeing him as part of the lost boys. What has he been doing since he was seven and up to when we see him interact with Neal. That’s what, 17 years that we don’t know what he’s been up to?????? What was he doing during the tender years of 7 to 17 himself, on the streets?

I don’t actually think that August works for the good side. We don’t really know why but he ruined young Emma’s life and when he came back to SB to convince her FTL was real, it was only because he was changing back into wood so again, just being selfish. I’m sure at some point he’s had good intentions but I think they are long gone, we’ve seen how bad he is with this world’s temptations! The writers sort of hold this image of ‘Emma’s guardian angel’ and that he must have had good reasons to do what he did, since we remember him being actually the good guy in season 1 but I truly believe they are just toying with us and he must be on orders of some evil sorcerer.
Normally, I would agree with you. But his little conversation he had with Mother Superior. How he told her he can’t do anything with this body. Because of that, that’s why I think he was working with Bae/Peter Pan and the Lost Boys in Phucket Island (also known as Lost Island) to gather more fighters in our world once the curse does finally break, and he started to turn to wood, and then his mission changed from helping the Lost Boys to helping Emma believe in magic. And he couldn’t do the missions the Blue Fairy wants him to do because his body is failing him. I just don’t believe the little boy who is Pinocchio who came into this world with Emma had evil intensions towards her. He obviously loved her, but he was 7, what was he going to do with a baby on the streets? Come on people, get real.

If he was truly her “guardian angel”, “big brother”, when he already found her, why not wait till she got out of jail and took care of her? I take that he couldn’t full fill his promise taking care of her when he was 7, but at that time, he was freakin 26-28. Why didn’t he full fill his destiny as her guidance? His father bargained to get him to this world just for him to do the thing that Snow+Charming didn’t have the change to do: take care of the savior. He didn’t seem to care about breaking the curse as he claimed to be. He stole the money and ran to Phuket. Not until years later, when Emma finally arrived to SB, his legs went wack, and he started to come to SB to did the lame *** job. and it wasn’t succeed. She believed in the curse because of Henry 😡
Why, probably because he had other missions. We know he knows about the Blue Fairy, and we know she knows alot. For all we know, she got into contact with him early on, and told him what to do. Keep tabs on Emma, but then, also go around the world and look for other possible FTL people. Odd, he went to Phucket, and Phucket Island is notorious for also being known as the Lost Island. A.K.A. Lost Boys-Peter Pan???? In essence, he was one lost boy when he came to our world. You people are so quick to judge without knowing the full story yet. We don’t even know if in fact he did indeed steal the money. Only a stupid person would send 20 grand in a package to an inmate. August is anything but stupid.
No he’s not stupid he’s a smart person who like he said is not very good at saying “No” as evident by what he did he ditched her and went to Phuket on Neal and Emma’s dime. Whatever he did we know that it wasn’t very noble if he was on a mission doing something he should have been doing then he wouldn’t have received a painful reminder of just how far he’d strayed. I mean he admitted to neglecting his promise then coming back when it was a threat to him.
The pain could have been because he lied to protect Emma. And I don’t give a crap what the writers said on the podcast, they could say stuff to throw everybody off. That’s what they do.

August/Pinocchio did not send the money. Eddy and Adam confirmed in the podcast interview, and Jane Espenson confirmed it on another interview. 🙂 Plus, even if they hadn’t, it was still pretty obvious that he did take the money–the way he looked at the money, the manner in which he pocketed it. He took the money, that much is clear. The address of the envelope that sent Emma that keys was Phukett–pleasure island. 🙂
I don’t go by, nor do I care what the writers say on podcast. If they want the intensions more clearer, then actually film it. And Phucket Island is also know as The Lost Island.
And if this is the case, then no wonder why Eion Bailey might leave this show after the writers are dumping all over his character. If August dies or is really somebody truly evil, I’m done with this show.

But, you’re doing the same thing but on the opposite side. You’re excusing his actions without knowing the full story.
I thought it was VERY obvious from August’s look when he saw the money that he pocketed it because he has issues with temptation. You could basically SEE the dollar signs in his eyes. I thought it interesting that after listening to the official podcast, Eddy and Adam basically confirmed my suspicions… that August did indeed take the money and that’s what funded his trip to Phuket.
It’s called benefit of the doubt. By your reasoning, if you were a judge, you probably would have killed more innocent men than evil men without knowing the full story. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather mistakenly let a guilty man go free than to mistakenly have an innocent man locked up and/or executed.
And in no way am I excusing what he was responsible for with Emma going to prison, but Neal is just as guilty, he could have said no, that there are other ways, but he didn’t. Why does August have to be the one burned at the stake and not Neal?
I’m also contemplating that Emma did indeed, live in a nice apartment in Boston, seemed to be well off to come to Storybrooke and decide to stay without a real job, had no problem paying back the bond money to MM…….You see my end? Benefit of the doubt. For all we know, maybe he did send the money to the prison, but the guard took it. Ever think about that?

I begin to think that Jefferson was the one who found Henry for Regina to adopt, Gold has probably just done the formalities and all the documents. He would then get in return the rich house with the view at Grace’s house. Otherwise, why would Evil Queen bring him to SB, make him remember and live in a luxurious house in the middle of the forest?
Nah, I think it’s a combination of August and the Blue Fairy that did it. Not to mention, I’m watching the show again, and Regina does say August looks kind of familiar to her. I’m thinking he found out about Emma being pregnant in prison, and then he went and got the baby, and brought him to Mother Superior to give to Gold. Maybe as payment for the lease of the church or something,
warhorse78ParticipantEh, I like most of the characters on there. The only one that I honestly don’t care for at all is Belle. But, if I can get my August back, then I have no problem with Rumpel getting his Belle back.

By taking the money from Emma he made sure that she grew up with means of obtaining her own money and not
Just have it given to her. If August gave her the money then she would know that Neal still cared for her and she would want to find him. It’s good to see people on here do have a brain. Not to mention, the last thing you do for your prison pals, especially ones locked up for stealing, is send them money through the mail. They would have been even more suspicious of her, having 20 grand sent to her in the mail. And, we still don’t know if August did indeed steal the money, or maybe he just hid it for her, in case of a rainy day.
