On the other hand, Rumple put Belle on a pedestal (literally put her on a pedestal via the teacup) and maybe we have too. The writers have always shown us unexpected and surprising sides of the fairy tale characters we thought we knew, so maybe they will surprise us with Belle too and show us a side of her we aren’t expecting. Maybe she will be so mad at Regina for tricking her and locking her up in both FTL and SB that she will “take Rumple’s side” in their power struggle and won’t have a problem with how he handles things.
I noticed a bit of venom in her voice when she told Gold that Regina had locked her up. I suspect that Belle is not the same person she was before she was imprisoned. I would imagine that being unjustly locked up for at least 28 years (plus however long she was imprisoned in FTL before the curse) would change a person. And while I don’t think she has transformed into evil Belle, she is in the perfect position to become the axis of righteous rage (similar to the Count of Monte Cristo) in the storyline.

It was an obvious choice of words by the BF to say I am on the “right” side and not the “good” side.
I was just thinking about that. She said there is a good side and a dark side and that she is on the right side. I think she is on the side that she feels is justified and righteous. I’m not saying she’s all bad, but I do think she is dangerous. Wrath is dangerous, but righteous wrath is even more frightening. To pull a quote from the book American Gods: βThere’s never been a true war that wasn’t fought between two sets of people who were certain they were in the right. The really dangerous people believe they are doing whatever they are doing solely and only because it is without question the right thing to do. And that is what makes them dangerous.”

And another time/space reference is in Mr. Gold’s conversation with August when he thought August was Baelfire…Mr. Gold says that ever since Bae crossed TIME and SPACE he had been looking for him.
So, the dark curse was probably made to cross time and space as well…and to go to the exact precise time/location where Baelfire was deposited into…+28 years of frozen SB time ofcourse..which would make Bae currently 42.
I think Bae would age only if time is linear. Also, I suspect that the vortex exists outside of space and time, causing him to be “frozen.” So from Bae’s point of view he would have fallen through the vortex and seconds later ends up in current SB, without having aged at all.
I hope that made sense…

Ok, did a quick recheck…I didn’t hear the blue fairy say time hole…but when Rumple is spinning his options with BF he mentions…relm jumper?, time tunnel?…curse?
So, maybe Rumple included a time tunnel formula in the dark curse.
Oops! Well, it’s back to the drawing board again π

In regards to Baelfire, it would be interesting if he was sent to a completely different time period than present-day Storybrooke. He could be 200 years in the future for all we know. π― However, I don’t think that’s the case. I think he was sent to our world in a fairly similar time period as the current one. π
Exactly, my current theory is that Bael arrived hasn’t arrived, but he will soon. Which, if true, will make for an interesting father/son reunion.
weebeastieParticipantThe fact that the Blue Fairy referred to the vortex as a time portal makes me wonder not only where Bael went, but when?
If the vortex does indeed lead to earth, it’s possible he hasn’t arrived yet. To pull from my Dr. Who education, time isn’t necessarily linear, it’s…well…”wibbly, wobbly, timey, whimey.” π
weebeastieParticipantI have to agree that the blue fairy is not as she seems, nor do I think she is all goodness and light, as she claims. And while I don’t think she lied to Bae, I do think she chose which truth to tell him. She said that she could not change Rumpel back, however, as we know there are other ways to break the curse, i.e. true love’s kiss (which from Rumpel’s reaction in Skin Deep, I hypothesize that even he didn’t know that little piece of information.) If she is indeed the original power, the source from which all power derives, then she probably knows there is more than one path to take to achieve Bae’s goal. The question I have is why did she chose this particular one? Was it really the only other option she knew? Or does she have a hidden agenda yet to be seen?
weebeastieParticipantSeeing the most recent clip makes me wonder if the paperweight itself is the clue or what Gold found under it…or both…

or it’s just because people won’t leave him alone and keep asking him for stuff.
I’ve noticed that he rarely actually goes to someone to make a deal. They all come to him.

In the new promo for next week’s episode, Rumpel and Bae are seen being sucked into a green vortex. Does anyone have any theories on what this vortex could be? Personally, I think it's Oz. But some others think it may be Neverland, and the green vortex is actually Tinkerbelle.
I like the Oz theory. Green vortex=the emerald city in my head. Though, if it is Tinkerbell, my 2 year old will have a cow. Tinkerbell is ALL the rage in my house right now. π

He only became the Dark One to save his boy. He deserted the Ogre Wars like anyone one who was drafted to any war would. Who wants to be forced to go to war? He is evil but nevertheless because of his need to save his boy he felt aquiring power was the only way to do it. He was tricked by Zoso, the former Dark One to take his life and his place. He takes first borns because first borns go to war. Going on that theory if he takes all of FTL’s first borns no one will go to war for the ones seeking the first borns but go to Rumple and strike a deal for them.
I love this theory, but I’m not sure I can totally agree with it. I have only seen (please correct me if I’m wrong) 3 children exchanges (or attempts thereof): Charming’s twin brother, Henry and Cinderella/Ashley’s daughter.
Both Charming’s brother and Henry were obtained at the request of other people. Rumple didn’t just go out and demand them own his own. Charming’s brother was procured at the request of the king. As prince of the realm, he was most likely trained in battle at an early age. If there was a war, he would probably be in the front lines, leading his men into battle. Henry was procured at the request of Regina.
Cinderella’s child, on the other hand, he did demand own his own. There is, IMHO, two reasons for this. First has to do with how magic works. The higher someone’s demand, the higher the price. A balance must be maintained. Cinderella didn’t just want a night out on the town, she wanted freedom from her “wretched” life. So, he gave her the keys to the kingdom, so to speak. And I must admit, I feel little sympathy for her. If she’d actually read the contract, she’d have known the terms upfront. But, instead, she was too wrapped up in getting what she wanted right now, the easy way, that she didn’t bother to consider the repercussions.
You know, I just had a thought. I think that’s another reason why Rumple’s prices are so high. When people come to him, they are looking for an easy way out. They no longer want to deal or take responsibility for their own problems. So, if he’s going to make their problem just “go poof!” and disappear, then they’re going to have to pay for it.
Which leads me to another thought, if the prince fell in love with her because of a magical casting, is it really love? Perhaps that is another reason he asked for the child. He knows the child is born out of a lie and he doesn’t think Cinderella deserves to be a mother. Just a thought…
Anyway, back to my original theory. The second reason (is one that’s already been theorized) Rumple asked for the child is that he wanted to get captured, so that he could appear to be in a desperate state, so that he could make the fateful Dark Curse deal.
