This is a fun thread!
I think that Belle is changing the cowardice in Rumple. From the moment he opened up to her and told her the truth, he started to change. I think he is being brave…also in not killing Hook he is respecting Belle’s wishes one, and also not taking the way of a coward, as a coward would kill someone while they were down, and it takes more strength to forgive/not get revenge than to get revenge.
I think he is leaving cause there really isn’t anything else he can do for her, and what he has already done for her was really surprising in the fact that his whole life he has worked and suffered to get to this point…and nothing could stop him, not even Belle herself in Skin Deep. Also, the storybrooke Belle had seen Rumple heal her with magic. Thats probably another reason she is so freaked out…and the way he talked to her too was about magic.He hasn’t given up on her, and he doesn’t mean to in the future… but he has done all he could do, and if he stayed he would just push her farther away. 😉

Ok, wait….wouldn’t it be that Gold brought magic to the whole world? Not that people would suddenly get magic, but so he could take it with him? Magic is his crutch…and he is a coward, so he takes it with him. I think that he will have magic upon leaving storybrooke. And didn’t he heal belle over the line? 😉 I’m not 100% on that one, but yeah, I think that he will have magic.
And I don’t think Emma will be that scared about his threat… maybe wary, but not like she’d plan on killing him off. We have to remember, Gold didn’t say, “I’m gonna kill your family.” He said If any harm comes to belle.
Charming is also capable of protecting Belle, and nothing could really happen to her unless Hook wants to kill her…which I don’t think would happen.
Also, if what I think about Gold taking his magic with him is true, then Emma can’t kill him…he could just heal himself…and she would need the dagger.And yeah…. 😉
I was thinking about how these family trees are haha…and Snow and Henry are siblings! As well as grandmother/grandson. WEIRD. 😆
