AGGGH! I know. I heard that there was a picture of Belle, Hook and Rumple on set. Seems Hook will know of their relationship.

As for his favor, I wonder if maybe Rumpelstiltskin will use his deal with Emma to protect Belle. It is either that or Baelfire, since those two people are the only ones that he cares for.
This is what I was thinking of. I’m not sure in what instance he would need to ask it though.

Old Rumple would have just attacked. SB Rumple indirectly attacked Regina using the wraith, right after Belle had asked him not to go after her, and we saw how well that went. Belle’s not a fan of violent and/or magical revenge plots, and Rumple would know that if he goes that route again with Hook, it’d just serve to push Belle further away. So he’ll really have no choice but to keep his cool, no matter how badly he wants to unleash some hardcore fury on Hook.
Rumple could try to calmly warn Belle about Hook. But if Hook keeps his cool and is charming enough, he may be able to convince her that Rumple is overreacting. Which would just serve to infuriate Rumple even more, pushing him towards breaking point. If Rumple tells Belle, “He stole my wife,” Belle would hardly think that grounds for killing him, and wouldn’t accept it if Rumple wanted to attack him for that. Then Belle could go ask Hook about it in an effort to find out as much about the situation as possible, and he could very well counter with, “Guess he left out the part where he then killed her right in front of me, huh?”
Can’t wait to see what direction they go with this. Hook has major potential to mess things up between Rumbelle, and as much as I love Rumbelle, I also love that Rumple is having to work for it to live up to Belle’s expectations.
Okay- to your first paragraph…
Well then this goes to the question of what Rumple values more. I personally think that he would rather them not be together than her dead or hurt. I’ve said this before…but yeah. He would protect her no matter what she thought about it….and thats what I like in him.Someone said this before, but its going to depend on how honest Rumple is with Belle. I don’t think he would say ‘He stole my wife’ without saying the rest, for fear of Hook doing just that. Either he said it all, or he didn’t say it.
But it would be pretty cool, and I can definitely see your thoughts coming to play in the show.Me too! Exciting. :DD

A thought occurred to me. What if instead of going after Belle, who is going to remain loyal to Rumple, Hook goes after Bae instead. Rumple wants to reunite with Bae more than anything. If Hook were to tell Bae what really happened to his mother and how Rumple killed her, that’s going to delay Rumple’s and Bae’s reunion to at least another season. Bae wouldn’t want anything to do with Rumple which would hurt Rumple in the worst possible way. It would be like Rumple having his heart ripped out but not literally.
I don’t personally think that Bae will enter this…It seems that if Hook went after a loved one, it would be Belle. Its too perfect.

Play out the original beauty and the beast thing!!!! What if, Hook ‘kills’ Rumple…(or rumple is dying or something).. Belle cries over him or whatever…and kisses him? True loves kiss? Wakes him up, he isn’t the dark one…and there you go.
This has now become my theory. π π π
Aww, that would be a lovely way to incorporate the Beauty and the Beast mythology into the show. We havenβt seen too many nods to the original tale or the Disney version in season 2, so it would be nice if the writers could end the season with a redemptive kiss from Belle.
I would love it! π

I tend to agree. It seems like the minute Rumple finds out hook is in town he immedietly will be on guard, protecting Belle, and probably looking to kill or detain Hook. Once Hook encroaches on Rumple’s world, I see him having a limited window of opportunity to act. *Maybe* Rumple would size him up when he first showed up, instead of attacking him immedietly, but honestly the latter seems pretty likely knowing Rumple. But the minute Hook stepped within 10 feet of the library, Rumple would know and confront him. So I don’t see that really being a successful plan. Also, while I think Hook is clearly calculating and patient, I don’t see him, after 300 years of waiting, wanting to mess around slowly trying to seduce a woman that may not even be interested before killing Rumple. Especially since whatever pain he could possibly cause Rumple by stealing Belle is nothing compared to the pain it would cause him if she died, and that’s much faster and more foolproof.Yes, I agree.
Also, when Rumple sees Hook, he is going to know what he is there for….and he will also know that Belle is in danger. He won’t waste time…he is going to protect Belle, weather she likes it or not. And he is developing this selflessness that we haven’t seen in Rumple before..(besides with bae.) For and because of Belle. Its really cool to see. I think that he would now rather have them split than her dead or hurt…..especially if it was to pay for his own doings.

I’m going to start a riot of something bad happens to Belle. RIOT!!!
…Ok maybe not a riot, but I will very upset! π
I’m kind of banking on the fact that since Hook isn’t really a villain, he won’t go as far as to actually kill Belle. I think he has his sights set on the dagger. But on a completely cynical note, as much as the writers are hyping up this rivalry between Rumpel and Hook, nothing is going to come of it because killing off Rumpel would seriously damage the show, and killing off Hook will upset a lot fans too. I know the writers like to pretend that they don’t pay attention to the fandon, but they do. They sooooooooooooooo do! π
I’d help you! I would be so upset, lol!
It would be interesting to see Belle’s sorrow for Rumple…or maybe….OH!!!

How close Hook gets to Belle is going to depend on how honest Rumple is with her about why Hook wants revenge on him.
That is an excellent point…I’m pretty sure Rumple has a painful journey ahead of him being honest with Belle.
He has done a lot of terrible things.I wouldn’t be surprised if this happens, and Hook will try and turn her against Rumple by telling her about Milah. Thats a cool thought. :O

I don’t think Hook’s charms are going to work on Belle. Let’s be honest here, this show can be incredibly cheesy at times, and one of the concepts that it constantly promotes is the idea of true love. Even though Belle and Rumpel are currently on a break, I honestly don’t see Belle gravitating towards Hook. There hasn’t been a single true love couple who has committed an act of infidelity on the show yet. (I’m excluding David and MM because they didn’t have their memories at the time). So just by going off of those rules alone, I don’t think Belle will fall for it. I think Hook will try, but I don’t see Belle going for it. So, if anyone were to pull Belle away from Rumpel, it’ll be Rumpel himself.
I could never see Belle and Hook. Hook would only be playing her. Totally…UGH. I feel so sad for them. They have a lot of things to overcome.

Belle is going to stay loyal to Rumple because that is the type of person she is. However, what if Hook makes Rumple think that Belle is straying? Rumple has self esteem issues and Hook has a history of stealing Rumple’s women so to put that thought in Rumple’s mind isn’t going to be too hard.
Rumple’s going to face a dilemma. If he says nothing to Belle, his paranoia is going to continue to grow, but if he does say something to her then she’s going to be offended that he thought she would cheat on him.
The type of person she is and…that she truly loves him. That is a scary thought! Oh no! Blame her for something she didn’t do, yet again….
I want to know two things though, guys.
One is, what do you think about the supposed Emma/Hook thing playing out, how would that affect this?
Two- What would you think about Hook turning Belle against Rumple by honestly telling about what happened to Milah?*SWANFIRE* keeper of Neal's dream catcher
