It sounds like Belle was a tabula rasa during the curse (i.e. she had amnesia but no personality. Her FTL memories were gone but no fake memories were imparted (kinda like John Doe before Regina gave him a fake identity as David Nolan when he touched the windmill in Mr. Gold’s shop).

Agreed this is the most logical explanation. So that brings up, what talisman will Regina use to trigger Lacey? With David Nolan it was the windmill that was outside his house, at least that’s how the story went.

A real talesman is a “memorable detail” linked to a person’s true FTL identity; hence Belle’s true talesman is her cup and David’s is the unicorn mobile that hung in Emma’s nursery. Yet, it seems like a fake talesman could be anything really. The windmill seemed like a random item that had supposedly been in Kathryn Nolan’s front yard (though it was really just in Mr. Gold’s pawn shop for 28 years), and when David it touched it, he suddenly “remembered” it as being his own lawn ornament. The one significant thing about the fake talesman is the word windmill could be linked to Regina Mills‘ dark curse.

    interesting…

ooooohhhgooodnesssssss. I’m so scared. This is so interesting though! Rumple is on his own, and not only that he has Belle(lacey) being not a good but a bad influence. He has lots of things pulling against him, telling him to give in to his ‘inner demon’, and now Belle too. We just have to hope that his memory of the Belle he loves is strong enough to defeat his dark side. 😮 Thanks for the link!

I think Rumple will be sorely tempted to have Lacey but ultimately will fight for Belle. Afterall it was Belle he fell in love with not Lacey. It’s almost similar to Charming’s situation with the siren when she took on Snow’s form. She offered him what he wanted but Charming realised it didn’t compare to the real thing.

Here’s the question, will Belle get her memory back this episode? I hope so.

I think so too. He’ll want to take the easy path cause that’s what he does in the end…it’s gotta be Belle or nothing.
I really want her to get her memories back this episode.

Yeah I think just the fact that he enlists Charming to help him shows that he is going to fight for Belle rather than take the easy way. In the clip where he’s asking for Charming’s help he has already met Lacey, so by going to Charming he has made the decision to try and bring back Belle. If he wanted to leave her as Lacey then the whole diner exchange wouldn’t be happening.

I hope she gets her memories back too. I mean honestly, looking at the pictures from the finale with the hugging outside the shop and her holding onto his arm while they're at the docks with the Charmings , that implies a lot of intimacy between them that I don’t think they’d have if she were still Lacey at that point. Plus, why would Rumple bring her with him to the docks if she were still Lacey and had no idea about magic?

ooh! Where could I find these pics?

Yeah..We should remember that Tamara said that she wasn’t magical. If she had a fairy grandmother, she would be a little magical, wouldn’t she? being related to a fairy or whatnot? Or maybe she was a fairy born without magic. Hmmm! 😉

Maybe she did know somehow who Neal was, or at least that he was magical or whatever. Maybe there was more to that story…maybe she was there when August was telling neal to leave Emma alone.

Hmm…in the picture before, Rumple was there in between Bealfire and David. The one where they’re all like 😮 Rumple is missing. I didn’t see what discussion happened about this photo before, but this is just my initial thought. 😉 Ohhhhdear. I’m scared. I’m excited for this episode….but so SCARED!
