This book question has been tugging at me…I keep bouncing from one person to the next as the author…but no one person knows all the stories…except Henry, because he has the book. If Henry travelled back in time, he could have written the book to help guide him in the future.
Possible support for the theory: I won’t list all of it but here are three of them.
1. In Fruit of the Poisinous Tree, Henry’s book disappeared from under the damaged castle. Later, August walked up to Henry in Granny’s diner.
August: Whatcha working on?
Henry: Uh, no time to talk. I got to write it all down before I forget.
August: Yeah, I hate it when great ideas slip away from me.
Henry: They’re not my ideas. They’re stories from a book that I lost.
August: Must be a h*** of a book. What’s it about?
Henry: Stuff.
August: Sounds exciting.
Henry: You seem awfully interested in me and my book.
August: No, I’m just being neighbourly.
Henry: What are you doing in Storybrooke?
August: I’m a writer.
Henry: You can write anywhere. What are you really doing here?
August: Stuff. Good luck with the stories.Picture(below) of what Henry was drawing (edited: probably not wooden leg like I thought but rather just a stick figure quick drawing)
2. At the very beginning of the episode Broken, we hear a clap of thunder…the thunder sounds like the classic sound effect called Castle Thunder which was recorded for the Frankenstein movie.(obviously a Frankenstein nod here) but the same sound effect was used for lightening striking the clock tower in Back to the Future.
3. When Emma and Henry pull into town in the Pilot episode the power line beside them sparks.
4. We have seen lots of possible nods to Back to the Future…including the classic leather jacket, walkie talkies, a fedora, red shirts…a clock tower in a run down building…etc.
The whole idea of this just makes me smile…the writers could have so much fun with this and go in so many different directions. And if like Marty…Henry met his dad…well how fun would that be if some of the things in Neal’s apartment tied in with possible time travel story.

That looks like a bow and arrow set on the right figure’s back. Is he meant to be the huntsman or a nod to Robin Hood?
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixDecember 19, 2012 at 9:30 pm #165481gypsyParticipantJefferson knows a lot of the stories and has books piled up in stacks throughout his house.
Besdides Jefferson, Regina is the only one who had her memory the whole time and who was in the nursery, seconds before the curse hit.
If she spent time w/Jefferson over the 28 yrs in SB, she could have told him about the seconds before the curse….bragging, reminiscing…whatever…what’s the harm talking about things to Jefferson? Who’s he gonna tel?
Jefferson could’ve added that to the end of the book.
Where do all his books come from? He was suck in his house all those years.
Regina maybe brought him books to read.
After a while, he maybe sent some books back with her, smuggled ‘the book’ along with some others, and Regina unknowingly took them to the school and that’s how the book ended up being found by MM to give to Henry…..December 19, 2012 at 9:31 pm #165482fairy dustParticipant@PriceofMagic wrote:

I think you are right about the leg…and yes Henry is writing the Huntsman down and it is Charming on the left so that is probably the Huntsman on the right.
December 19, 2012 at 9:37 pm #165483zlfh4Participanti actually like that idea…I dont know if it is a wooden leg like you said but since he drew the feet the same on the other guy and not on the wooden leg one I can see why you would think that..and it does look like a bow and arrow set..Interesting…

We do have multiple time travel books that could be used including A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. To write the book he would have had to go “back.”
We have lots of little robots in Gold’s store…definately a “future” thing.
We have the Enchantment Under the Sea dance where Marty sings on stage. When Emma was on stage and Henry in the audience (for the debate) huge fish props are in the background. In the Under the Sea scene we have dolphins on the banner…in Desperate Souls we have dolphins on the banners…not cartoonish but rather more like the sea horses in the Marty on stage scene.
We have microphones in Neal’s apartment similar to the one Marty used…
Since I haven’t looked for this connection these are the first things that come to my mind…it will be fun looking for more. Please post if you find some. Even if this theory is wrong…this could be a lot of fun.

If I had time travel, I’d use it to investigate my theory that Reese’s PB Cup quality control has dipped precipitously since the ’80s.

@danielthomsen your trip back may be the CAUSE of the quality dip. Which means you WILL have time travel.

@AdamHorowitzLA Conflicted feelings. I really miss those well-made Reese’s. But time travel is neat too. Guess I’ll find out soon. Or not.

@danielthomsen you will, I was there. Not past me but future me who tried to stop you. Even tho I knew you would succeed. Because u had.December 19, 2012 at 10:22 pm #165490fairy dustParticipantThere are two promo pictures that seem to point to this time travel possibility, one with the entire group and one featuring Jared Gilmore.
In the first picture we have
Henry dressed in Enchanted Forest clothes with bow and arrow (tip of arrow on fire)…he is standing on a box, next to a tiled/brick wall with his back to the rest of the group. .In the second picture that features him we have…
School – school features prominently in the BttF movies
Horse
Shield (there is a shield on the highschool's podium in Back to the Future)
Backpack
Bike – In the episode with the quote (see above) the first shot is of Henry on a bike with a helmet and glovesDecember 19, 2012 at 11:04 pm #165493abowlingballParticipantThunder and litening are always in movies meant to show intense and magical stuff. Any one can reference a billion of them but it still don’t make a connection so.
Moderator’s note: removed some rule-violating stuff.
