I posted this in another thread, but here goes. Mostly it’s the same of what we’ve heard, except more of Eddy that I hate. God, the Dark One is NOT Gold’s core character……. Gold’s core character is Rumple, the man in Manhattan……. he’s cursed and yes he’s been the DO, but that is not who he is. Ugh, Eddy…..

[adrotate group="5"]June 14, 2013 at 4:52 am #198338SlurpeezParticipantEddy: “Even in beginning, it said the curse will cross all lands.”
Interesting! I wonder if that means the curse affected more than just the lands contained in FTL (like Aurora’s kingdom and Mulan’s homeland, which could be reached from the EF by a horse or on foot). Or does that also mean that the curse also affected distinctly separate worlds like Neverland and Wonderland, which could only be reached via a magic portal? The part that has me curious and excited is the mention that we’ll get to see multiple different worlds. Obviously, there’s SB, the EF, and now Neverland. We’re also going to see the spin-off of Once: Wonderland. I wonder what other worlds we might see. Perhaps we’ll see Oz.
Adam: “Even if we are in different worlds, hopefully the story and the characters will carry you through,” adds Horowitz: “It’s about the characters, not the world. So if you’re with the characters, where they are is secondary to what they’re going through.”
Looks like E&A have taken on board a lot of the fan desires for what makes a strong story: character development rather than just external action sequences. That is what makes stories compelling. I really am looking forward to seeing how S3 develops and how the characters interact and meet challenges together.

June 14, 2013 at 5:09 am #198344betsypaige24ParticipantI feel like I’m watching a different show than Adam and Eddy. Yeah they created the characters, so I can’t say they don’t know them…….except no, Eddy does not know Rumple
So, still steaming from that, I’m torn between being excited for season 3 and being extremely skeptical, mostly the latter because I ‘m going to miss Rumbelle so much. I’m having a hard time with S3 because even though Belle will get a kick ass storyline, which I love (believe me, I do), I’m sort of very down about no Rumbelle for half a season. I’m trying my level best not to be upset too much – and also not to worry about Adam/Eddy screwing up their reunion/not giving us what we want (a relationship, happy, etc..) upon Gold’s return, but I don’t really trust them. S3 will be a crossroads for me, I think. While we got some truly beautiful Rumbelle, there was a lot we didn’t get that many of us craved – and this constant tragedy with them is hard to take. I’m not sure I can tolerate another season like S2.
So, Adam and Eddy can talk all they like about character, but until I see it on screen and until I see Rumbelle actually together, I will continue to be highly skeptical about them
I will say that the SB part of the first half of S3 is what I am most looking forward to…….

It was pretty poorly worded on his part. I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that what he actually means is, “their persona that is capable of kicking the most butt”, because he also mentions Bandit Snow, and yeah, that’s one of her dominant traits, but if I were asked to sum up Snow in one word, it wouldn’t be “bandit”. And he mentions Emma having to be the Savior, which, granted, is her core role, but she’s not “all Saviour all the time” and invincible, it’s something she’s still coming to terms with, so I don’t consider it her core trait. Considering the situation they’re in, they’ll all need to tap into side of themselves that will be most proactive and effective, and in Rumple’s case, that will be his Dark One side.

This is the quote from Eddy that’s more perplexing to me.
June 14, 2013 at 12:40 pm #198354betsypaige24ParticipantPhee, that is what I’m hoping he meant………..and suspect he might have meant. I hate when I take Eddy’s bait because he’s terrible at expressing himself
June 14, 2013 at 1:35 pm #198356PheeParticipantMaybe if Eddy tweeted he’d be more accustomed to how to choose his words more carefully coz he’d be practiced in trying to get an accurate point across in 140 characters or less. 😛 Sometimes I wonder if those two did a coin toss and Adam lost, which is why he’s the one who has to tweet the masses. 😆
June 14, 2013 at 1:39 pm #198357RumplesGirlKeymasterIt could also be that the reporter skewed Eddy’s words. We know that’s happened before. Don’t read too much into it. They know their characters.

^This. 😀
This may not be funny if you have never played one of those RPG games, like final fantasy or one of the MMO style ones–but I had this image of EQ & Rump are dark magic users, Hook is the thief, Charming is the warrior tank,Snow is the archer/range fighter & Emma is a hybrid white magic healer-fighter paladin. I may be unfairly putting my own geeky experience on that of the writers, but it is an oddly common set up of RPG archetypes.
Slurpeez, that is a good point–we need to see how far the curse went. We have discussed if it hit only FTL and then selectively grabbed those on EQ’s peeved at list. Yet it is interesting that EQ felt she had to kill her mother rather than write the curse to exclude her. I still want to know the scope of the curse!
“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass
June 14, 2013 at 2:48 pm #198369RumplesGirlKeymasterIt could be that the Curse was designed to only bring people from FTL to our world, and then the EQ selected a few others to punish. I honestly don’t think Regina knew much about the Curse except that it would allow her “to win” against Snow and Charming. But, just because it didn’t bring people from other lands to our world, that doesn’t mean it didn’t affect other worlds. So how? Did it take away NL’s magic? Maybe it caused biological time to move again. Or maybe it’s zapping the magic in NL that allowed fairies and mermaids to exist. Just some ideas.
