Redemption means regretting ones actions and wanting to make up for them. I’ve yet to seen Rumpelstiltskin do either of those.
The whole episode was of him being scared of seeing Baelfire and of not having his magic. That doesn’t count as redemption. That is him being out of his comfort-zone and needing Emma to help him.
