Oh and Blue…favorite part seeing Shady get sucked into that hat!

November 30, 2014 at 9:15 pm #291782RumplesGirlKeymasterI have so much confusion….
The timeline is a mess, but I guess that’s not unexpected. So Anna and Kristoff were at the same time as SB??? So confused. Anyway…
LIKED
–Snow’s sass to Regina in the library.
–Emma’s moment with her parents at the jail, taking baby Snowflake
–The spell was pretty
–Snow and Charming letting go of each others hands. Sad, but very dramatic.
MIXED
–Belle got to do stuff, but once again…she’s just Google. That’s her only role. Google and be Rumple’s prop. It’s old.
–Sneaky Fairy! But…yet…not so powerful?
–Anna still bugs. The actress is great but the writing for her is just really starting to annoy.
DISLIKED
–Holy contrived plot line, Batman!!!! Forget the timeline mess, all Elsa had to do was wish on that star?? That’s it? But it’s a magical wishing star that Blackbeard had that their parents were searching for that cost them gold that Hans had already bargained with Blackbeard OR SOMETHING. Honestly, I have no idea.
–Hans is so unnecessary to this plot except to do the FROZEN ALL THE THINGS
–Blackbead being alive and appearing. He bores me.
—Robin, Where is your wife? Has someone made sure that you wife is okay? Do you think you should check on your wife?
–Rumple: “I don’t have time for everybody else.” *flashes back to Rumple saving the entire town at the end of S3A* Whatever.
–Apparently if you blast out through under ground mines you end up ….at the beach. Okay.

November 30, 2014 at 9:19 pm #291784KebParticipantI loved this episode. Just gonna lay that out there.
So things that I liked a lot:
–Belle DOING STUFF and SAYING THINGS. OMG. I missed you so much.
–Rumple deciding to save Belle AND Henry. I knew he’d protect Belle…the grandpastiltskin feels when he asked for Henry too, though, mmm.
–Hans vs Kristoff. I could seriously watch those two argue for a few months. Can we keep them?
–The reveal that Arendelle was frozen for 30 years BLEW MY MIND. I’m so glad I’m a little behind on the timeline right now because S4A is going to be a headache anyway, but…wow, I was not expecting that. Nor that Ariel saved BB (but YAY ARIEL!) and now we know where the JR is THIS VERY MINUTE. (I love the JR.)
–Rumple’s disgust for the fairies…consistent and beautifully played, of course.
–Will knows Roland! Yay!
–The spell of Shattered Sight is pretty. Some of the CGI worked better than other bits, but the cityscape scene of it falling was gorgeous.
–Hook actually apologizing while doing something horrible.
–We’re gonna find out if anyone can escape the hat now…cuz if anyone can, it’s Blue.
–Magic that feels consistent with other magic–the SoSS acting like the Dark Curse, the locator spell like Rumple gave David, the antidote being like the one they used to cure Sneezy & Belle in S2. Sometimes this show feels like it’s coming up with whatever and there are no rules, so when they introduce stuff that is a callback like that, it makes the world feel more internally consistent.
–Hook calling Rumple on the fact he’s going to have to choose between Power and Belle’s eternal love at some point. And recognizing Belle’s love for him.Less liked:
–Maybe a bit too much time in the chest…it was awkward in there.
–How the heck does BB know exactly where Gerda died? It was a storm.
–Robin Hood still not caring in the slightest about his wife. Or Regina’s wishes.
–Rumple’s (believable, esp in light of his speech to Emma in 408) backsliding to not caring about anyone but himself and his own. It’s hard to watch him being cruel (but it always has been, since S1). Still…that’s part of what makes him HIM and what he has to grow out of to achieve happiness. So it’s just less liked here because it’s painful, not because I didn’t expect it (I didn’t even expect him to save Henry, really!) or think the show doesn’t need it to drive his current storyline.Keeper of Belle's Gold magic, sand dollar, cloaks, purple FTL outfit, spell scroll, library key, copy of Romeo and Juliet, and cry-muffling pillow, Rumple's doll, overcoat, and strength, and The Timeline. November 30, 2014 at 11:33 pm #291814Hook’s GirlParticipantI thought Rumple calling the fairies “fleas” was funny. He still doesn’t like them.

December 1, 2014 at 1:04 am #291824CindersParticipantI loved the final 10 minutes as the spell descended on the town. Loved Regina protecting Henry, and her final good bye to Robin. (But I hated that she still deeply believes that only Henry and Robin care about her.)
I particularly loved the scene with Mary and David holding hands as the glass entered them, and the looks on their faces changing from good to dark.
I REALLY hated Blue cowering behind the counter. Don’t these writers know that lots of us really believe in fairies? Even sneaky fairies? I would have loved it 10 times more if she had realized it was the hat, stood up, and sneaky-smiled as she was being sucked in.
I HATED the scene between Hook and Rumple. “You’re gonna be dead tomorrow.” Come on, really? Just a casual convo sitting on a bench. Their acting is better than that. I didn’t find it believable.
Also, I didn’t much like Belle going from helping the fairies save the whole town to letting her hubby close her up in the shop. She’s better than that, because heroes help save people. They don’t follow hubby to be shut away alone to save themselves while the rest of the town falls. I found that out of character for Belle especially after the episode where they built her up to be brave and heroic.
I’m afraid Belle, once again, took a moment to think about herself and put a friend in danger. First Anna, now Blue. And I know it’s Rumple’s fault, not hers, but still. The whole Blackbeard/Arrendell story felt rushed. I liked the storyline, and that they brought Blackbeard into the story again, but it just felt rushed.
I love the storyline as a whole, and look forward to seeing where it leads. But, poor Keegolicious (Blue). Imagine getting the call that they FINALLY want you back on set, but, um, just for one scene, then in the hat you go till later in the year. Bye, Dearie, AGAIN.

And it said more about depression than a thousand words could.

December 1, 2014 at 8:37 am #291840PheeParticipantI haven’t the patience to list all the things I disliked about this ep. The final shot where Snowing let go of each other’s hands, and the moment when Anna started saying her dying vows to Kristoff were the only two highlights.
