I know I said I wasn’t gonna bother listing all my dislikes, but I want to mention this one because I feel like it’s an example of a big problem the show has as a whole.
Regina telling Robin that he and Henry are the only two people in town who believe in her. So, I guess that moment when Emma vowed to get Regina a happy ending, that never happened? The whole ep where they established how Emma wasn’t giving up on Regina and wanted them to be friends, that never happened? Snow giving her that pep talk while they were walking down the road, that never happened?
With that line they gave Regina to say to Robin, they blatantly ignored actual things they had established earlier in this half of the season, things that were portrayed as a big deal mere episodes ago. It’s similar to how they’re writing Rumple, the things they’re having him say that directly contradict that time when he DID chose his son over power, DID choose to sacrifice himself for the sake of everyone else. So having him say stuff implying he’s never ever thought of anyone else except for himself and his lust for power is just a straight up contradiction of what they’ve written previously.
For as much as it annoys me that they retcon plot stuff, like what happened to Blackbeard, the retcon of characters themselves is what really infuriates me. If the writers don’t care about consistency, then how are we meant to care and get invested in the characters and the story?

THIS THIS THIS!!!! THIS!!!
It’s like no one on the writing staff is talking to each other or watching/reading each others episodes.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 1, 2014 at 9:00 pm #291954nonnieParticipantThe ending scene was really nicely done. The shards falling from the sky, the musical score, all of it. I really liked it. This spell seemed to hold more weight than even the Dark Curse did, mostly because no one really had any hope left. Everyone just stood there, or locked themselves away. They all said that they had hope, but seemed resigned that they’d murder each other. Especially when Snow and Charming’s view of each other shattered and they pulled away. Very nice, indeed.
I am thinking that the SPELL can be broken by showing regret remorse, concern for the person that you are angry at.
ANNA showed remorse about putting her sister in the urn while under the spell.. she started crying therefore washing the mirror shards from her eyes. ( In Anderson’s SNOW QUEEN, Gerda tears melted the boy’s icy heart thus breaking the spell.)
I predict that CHARMING will be concern for SNOW while she is fighting with REGINA. WHAT will result in remorse / regret in Snow and Regina I do not know what that will bring it on… Maybe someone getting injured.
ONCE they are cured then they can spread the cure to others in STORYBROOKE.

-Regina telling Robin that he should be scared of her. It was heart breaking and spine-chilling.
-Regina and Henry
-Regina telling Snow that it was time for her to make hard decisions. Good bit of advice from step mum to step daughter.
-Snow handing over baby Neal to Emma.
-GG’s acting when showing Snow falling into hatred and disgust. Her eyes were amazing.
-The magic glass effect as it was coming down from the sky. Wow.
LEAST FAVOURITE
-Regina not attempting to poof at least some of the townpeople over the wall ( we have seen that she can take passengers when she poofs).
-Elsa not trying to take the ice wall down now that she has more control over her powers (she gained more control when she conquered her fears)
-No one properly trying to take down the ice wall much earlier. Seriously, if I knew I was trapped in a small town with a cray cray Snow Queen, I would try to take that wall down, in addition to try to defeat the SQ, even if means that I fail.
-No explanation as to why the Snow Queen’s freezing spell on Arendelle and its inhabitants had a very specific time limit of 30 years (it broke 2 years after Emma broke the first dark curse so it is not related to that).
-No explanation as to why the freezing spell did not reach Anna, Kristoff’s or anyone else’s hearts, whereas it could have done for Marian. Perhaps it’s because FTL magic works differently here, but we have not been told why either way so far.
-No explanation as to why the SQ did not shatter Anna and Kristoff to make sure they were dead (she froze them in 8a/b but I expected an explanation by now).
-Blue Fairy gets involved in defeating the SQ and her spell NOW. Seriously?
QUESTION
Did we learn if the Wishing Star has more than wish or just one? Could Elsa have wished the Shattered Sight Spell way, wished the wall down, or wished everyone out of Storybrooke?

Great theory. I had the same idea in mind, too. It could be remorse from anyone who was originally pure of heart. So this could be Elsa or Anna as well as Charming or Snow (though I think Snow is not pure of heart and that she was able to get through the door to Glinda due to being pregnant lol).
Keeper of Regina's bravery

Couldn’t have said it better.

I doubt it’ll be used again and it’ll probably be a “one time only thing.” It’s plot device nature is now over.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 2, 2014 at 10:40 pm #292041KebParticipantIt occurred to me today that Elsa & Gold make pretty much the same choice: Themselves & their families over the whole town’s chance to survive.
Funny how Elsa still is “pure of heart” enough to make a wish and masses of the fandom hate Gold now…(it would have helped if they’d kept in the cut scenes where Gold actually demonstrates the fact that he loves Belle & Henry…)
Keeper of Belle's Gold magic, sand dollar, cloaks, purple FTL outfit, spell scroll, library key, copy of Romeo and Juliet, and cry-muffling pillow, Rumple's doll, overcoat, and strength, and The Timeline. My spreadsheet: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6r8CySCCWd9R0RUNm4xR3RhMEU/view?usp=sharing

Uh, Elsa isn’t trying to make a mad grab for power and hasn’t killed anyone in cold blood and hasn’t been lying to the people she claims to love and are the only light in her life.
There’s a pretty big difference.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 3, 2014 at 8:46 am #292052KebParticipantOh yes, there is a big difference between the two characters. But Rumple’s decision to save his family and run is having the same effect on the town as Elsa’s decision to save her family instead of the town, and she knew it when she tricked Emma. It was a very selfish decision for Elsa to make, even if we, as viewers, realize that if she hadn’t made that choice Anna and Kristoff would be dead.
(And meanwhile, the consequences if Rumple had just put DQ in the hat a couple episodes ago? …I think until they explain why Rumple’s treating DQ with kid gloves in the present timeline, when he already has the hat and showed he was perfectly willing to screw her over by taking Emma from her, his actions just aren’t going to make sense as a whole. Aside from the fact that we have to connect the dots ourselves to come up with his motives for betraying Belle, and have to look at either past seasons or cut scenes to see any goodness in the man, we’re stuck with an inexplicable deference for DQ that only makes sense if she has something else he wants or is somehow more powerful than he is. Maybe after she gets the ribbons working, she is, but…he totally could have stopped her plans for 7 episodes and didn’t, even as he figured out what they were, she attacked his wife, and her plans threatened his own.)

December 6, 2014 at 2:49 am #292248swanning-offParticipantThe reveal that Arendelle was frozen for 30 years BLEW MY MIND. I’m so glad I’m a little behind on the timeline right now because S4A is going to be a headache anyway, but…wow, I was not expecting that. Nor that Ariel saved BB (but YAY ARIEL!) and now we know where the JR is THIS VERY MINUTE. (I love the JR.)
ERMAGAHD I totally did not pick up on that bit. So that’s who Hook traded the Jolly Roger to!
I quite liked the reveal by Hans (whose hammy Bad Guy acting is so much fun) that Arandelle, like the Enchanted Forest/Misthaven has been frozen for 30 years. Yes, it makes the timelines all convenient but y’know what… who cares? It makes things easier to bring together so stuff it. I like that logic.
LOVED sleep-deprived snarky Snow and Regina’s sass off in the Library. Especially when Snow agreed with Regina, and the look Regina gave Emma…. “Yeah – I heard it too!”
Kristoff’s “this is so nice! AND so cold. Can we go somewhere warm?!” at the reunion was awesome. I loved the whole beachside reunion. I was hoping for some “fintervention” (I also legit LOLed at Blackbeard’s dad joke)
I loved the subtle freak out by Snow at giving up *another* baby for a Curse – at least this time she gave up Snowflake Neal to his big sister. But still…. it’s a not insignificant piece of symbolism for Snow. But the best thing in the jail scene – how casually Emma now calls Snowing Mum and Dad. That’s character development right there. It’s no longer saved for big moments – it’s just who they are to her.
Rumple’s hatred of the “fleas” – his rant to Hook was hilarious, his plan was perfectly horrible and I, for one, am actually kind of glad to see the back of Convenient Plot Device Fairy. They’ve never got the hang of Blue’s characterisation, so I’d rather see her sacrificed to the Sorcerer’s Hat than continuing to be an awkward coat-hanger for relevant plot information.
