A quartet of Once Upon a Time cast members are in negotiations to continue with the ABC fairy-tale drama should the show be renewed for a seventh season.
According to sources, original series stars Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla, and Robert Carlyle, along with Colin O’Donoghue, who joined the show in season 2, are all negotiating to extend their contracts. There’s no word on what that means for fellow originals Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, and Jared Gilmore, nor Emilie de Ravin, who joined later in season 1, but that doesn’t necessarily mean their returns are off the table. ABC declined to comment.

Ginny and Josh were 100% expected. Jared in’t surprising given the new casting. Emilie isn’t too shocking but with Bobby part of the negotiations, I’m sorta surprised they aren’t making Emilie promises for more story.
If JMo, Colin, Lana, Bobby sign then S7 is a lock.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Gosh didn’t return. Their characters have been played out for too long with barely any plot thread other than them being separated (you can only say “I will always find you” for so long). For Emilie, I think she’ll stay if Bobby does, but I could see her being fed up with not having much to do other than rant about Rumple.
I’d be personally upset about Jared leaving, as he was the heart of the show for so long and, even with an adult Henry, it wouldn’t feel the same without his charisma.

It is crazy that Jennifer, Lana, and Robert are all still up in the air this late in the game. They will be filming the last two episodes in a week, so that is just insane to me. It really makes me wonder if this show is coming back at all. They can’t lose all three of them and still have a show, in my opinion.

I think they don’t know what to do with teenage!Henry. He can’t be embroiled in romantic angst and the writers have clearly moved beyond “Henry and his two moms” because the moms are too caught up in PLOT and romance. So their solution is to age him up.

It is but it’s not unheard of. You hear about down to the wire contract negotiations on shows all the time. It could be money, it could be time, it could be anything.

Mind you I’m pretty sure each of the others will be coming back in S7 as guest stars especially Emilie.
I think Emilie is obviously going to be a recurring guest star, as she’s very important to Rumple but that’s it.

Agree.

I think she was supposed to be given a larger role as the story went forward, but I don’t think they ever recovered from their S2 reshuffling for Neverland and couldn’t find a narrative for her in each subsequent story.

March 10, 2017 at 8:53 pm #334058RumplesGirlKeymasterAlright, predictions:
1) Snow and Charming decide to take Baby Snowflake and go back to the EF to rule. They probably take half the town with them (so now there is a canon reason why SB often looks like a ghost town)
2) Belle leaves SB for “adventure in the great wide somewhere.”
3) Henry and his daughter show up from the future with the news that everyone is in danger and they must save the future. For “reasons” Young Henry vanishes until the future is saved.
