I think there will be some (short) angst over the appropriateness of Hook becoming part of the Charming clan.
The EQ started all of this (with the coin, hence the sudden appearance of the ghost) to tear the family apart, and I think it will work briefly. It might even put a wedge between Charming and Emma for a short while.
However, I do agree that this situation will not be dealt with properly, that his past actions will be washed away with pretty words (”we all deserve second chances” etc etc), and that Hook and Emma will marry at the end of the season anyway.
