I posted this same theory under the Ruby/Red Riding Hood Character Analysis post: https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=291
It’s rather odd that David’s memory lapses in SB seem to parallel Red’s in FTL. Does that mean David could also be a werewolf in SB, but doesn’t know it (the way Red didn’t know about being a werewolf in FTL)? Another wild theory of mine is that David could be Graham’s wolf guide, the one with the multicolored eyes: one red as blood and the other dark as night (a reference to Snow White). After all, David only has eyes for Snow White (lame joke). I doubt it, but it’s worth surmising over.
I’m not sure how likely it is that David is a werewolf, but the thought did occur to me. It seems like the writers were highlighting David’s memory lapses in a way that parallels the ones Red faced. David could be a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” so to speak. He’s an expert at tracking/finding people, since he’s always able to find Snow White in FTL. Back in SB, Ruby was easily able to track down David in the woods. Maybe David’s father in FTL was a werewolf? Again, that is probably very far fetched.
