I agree with Phee. I think Bae was using a different name in NL but eventually Hook figured it out and that is what perhaps lead to their falling out. Maybe Hook wanted Bae to help him kill Rumple, like when he tried to free Belle in QoH if she would help him out. But Bae still loves his papa and always will. He’s a good soul who couldn’t do that to Rumple. So he left NL and came to our world in about 1991 at the age of 14. The question, if this is true, is how did he get here?
