………………. this isn’t real life, it’s a fantasy show. I mean seriously, we have an Evil Queen who is responsible for murdering numerous people, who brokered a baby through Rumplestiltskin and who enacted the dark curse and we’re suppose to compare her to a real life adoptive mom? She’s the Evil Queen! 😆 😆 😆

What I keep trying to say is let’s leave the real world out of this. It’s suppose to be a fantasy story. Let’s have fun theorizing and waiting to see what comes next but for goodness sake, let’s be rational & sensible here. We can’t bash characters based on what happens in the real world when SB and FTL isn’t anything like it nor do either play by the same laws or rules. Come on now, we are talking about a town where Dr. Frankenstein resides and practices medicine, Ruby the werewolf works at the local diner, Maleficent, the evil sorceress, resides beneath the town library and we’ve got a live wooden puppet hiding out somewhere. Let’s get some perspective here and leave the heavy “real life” stuff out of the equation.

Something about this is very intriguing. For a while I’ve been wondering if the writers where going to take it to that level and make it kind of a metanarrative or what’s the word ? a story, about a story, about a story… Anyone know the novel ‘Sophie’s World’ ?? I read it as a young teen and this story makes you almost start to believe Sophie is a real person and that she is going to jump out of the book on next page. They sort of touched on that notion in ‘A Neverending Story’, as a nother example..
Anyway back to Once- For a while I believed they were going to do that. Set the Fairytalecharacters free, so to speak… To take Evil Queen as an example: In fairytales, who is always, with out a doubt the bad guy? -Evil Queen, ofcourse. This is because she is written, narrated, etc that way always. It’s her destiny and nothing can change it. Because she herself has no say in it, no way to make a different choice, she is a character in a story- somebody else is pulling the strings…. But if she was somehow to be set free in the real world, via a curse perhabs 😉 she was free of those strings and could then make her own choices. This is to some extend what they are already doing with the show, but I believe they could delve in to it much more- this would be very very interesting I think..
They also touch on it a bit with Neal in his appartment and walking the streets of New York, this scene had a completely different feel to it and fooled a lot of us into thinking we where watching the wrong show. When you think about it Neal Emma and Henry so far are the only characters to have been in the ‘real world’ because Storybrook is still within that boundary curse and somewhat still a fairytale world.

I know that really had nothing to do with your initial conversation 😆 but that is what it made me think about.
